A few meters from the Maspalomas beach, with the extravagant view that nature offers on the island of Gran Canaria, is this luxurious complex that houses comfortable and refined rooms in which guests will not only get comfort and rest, they will enjoy the luxury that the hotel has to show. With various recreational amenities and exclusive areas for relaxation and well-being, the fully equipped spa center, the pool area surrounded by tropical gardens, the exquisite artificial beach and the luxury casino are some activities that can be enjoyed on each visit. With the proximity of the Maspalomas Lighthouse, the golf course and the Shopping Center, visitors can access the town to buy in shops, restaurants and bars, as well as enjoy the indescribable view that nearby nature offers. The perfect complex for connoisseurs of refined taste.
Unless you go Unique DONT GO. The dining room is AWFUL, my wife was pushed and shoved so many times, in fact we paid half board but half the time we did not eat there it was so bad! Our 53rd wedding anniversary was not recognised by the hotel!! If it wasn’t for the Manager of the Toscana Restaurant it would not have been recognised.
This hotel is amazing, I would highly recommend it. Staff are super friendly and professional. The hotel and all of the facilities are really well maintained. Pools are fabulous. Can be difficult to secure a sun lounger as it’s busy but we always managed to find some. Plenty of space around. The rooms are well appointed and spotlessly clean. We couldn’t fault this hotel, we will definitely be returning.
Be careful before booking directly through the Lopesan Costa Meloneras website. We booked three expensive UNIQUE Premium rooms for October. Shortly after booking, the rates on their own website dropped significantly, making our booking € 1,156 euros more expensive than the current price! When we contacted the hotel, management refused any form of flexibility. We didn't even ask for a refund, but suggested a simple gesture of goodwill (like a resort credit or a small upgrade). This was coldly rejected under the guise of "non-refundable terms." The hotel uses dynamic pricing to maximize profit but offers zero protection for loyal guests who book early. If the price drops, you lose. My advice to other travelers: Do not book early here, or choose another hotel that actually values its guests. This feels like an absolute malpractice towards loyal customers.
The hotel if definitely beautiful and the grounds are amazing. The food was always a good standard with lots of options. The rooms were very clean as was the rest of the hotel. There were many pools which were a lovely temperature.
However, many details mean that it is unable to be described as luxury or premium and I’m not sure the value for money was great. The buffet is quite poorly organised meaning that there are long queues at breakfast and dinner due to majority of the food being along one wall, I assume this is much worse at full capacity during school holidays. You won’t find a sunbed available after 10am and if you put towels down before then staff will remove them so you need to stay at the beds during the time you would ideally be having breakfast or alternatively just not have beds for the day. A big issue is the wifi which is essentially useless so if you need to do any work/school work online it would not be possible. Finally, although staff were very helpful with requests or queries, they were not as warm and friendly as I have previously experienced in hotels that you would pay this price for.
This is a beautiful and aesthetically impressive hotel. We had two rooms and both were very nice. Daily cleaning service and fresh towels . All the staff were very pleasant and attentive. The pools are stunning and the grounds are very well kept. We had a lovely stay but there are some areas to give constructive feedback on.
It is a very large, busy and at times noisy hotel. This was particularly evident in two aspects: Not enough sun beds for guests and unless you are out early enough forget getting a good spot. They will also remove your towels if the beds are unattended so no point trying to grab one before you are ready to sit on it. They play loud music around the pool several times - fine if you like euro-pop but less so if you are trying to read a book.
Mealtimes - frequently queues to get in to dining. Layout off the buffet counter is a poor design as all along one wall. You may end up queueing from end to end to try and get something in the middle. Made it difficult to all arrive at the table at same time and enjoy peaceful family meal. The food itself was generally excellent with big range. Shame there is no buffet lunch option in this hotel.
WiFi is absolutely awful in this hotel. A real problem if you intend to work from here or have kids who like streaming. Always <10mbs and in my room WiFi was unusable.
There were some big groups of rowdy of guests on a few days. Dominating the pool bar areas, drinking and shouting a lot. Didn’t seem to be any attempts to calm them down or consideration for others.
You could usually hear music from the hotel rooms but last night was too loud and went on until shortly before 1am.
This is a super hotel but the photos suggest more tranquil than the reality. Probably amazing outside of high season.
