This hotel is situated in the tourist area of Playa del Ingles. The nearest beach is at a walking distance from the hotel. Around 200 m away numerous bars, restaurants, discos, shopping amenities and links to the public transport network can be found. The centre of San Fernando is around 2 km away, the dunes of Maspalomas are around 3 km away and Las Palmas is approximately 54 km from the hotel. The airport is about 20-minute ride away. Visitors will love to spend a sunny day in the outdoor pool area since they can sunbathe, rest under an umbrella or have a refreshing swim. The bright rooms come equipped with all the amenities guests need to have a comfortable and memorable stay.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
WORST PLACE! AVOID
-still about the photos, NOTHING on the premises is like they show: everything is dated, tacky and with an old stench.
The nice photos you see me updating there, only if you pay an astronomical amount of money. They will give you a hole at the back of their building, with NO WINDOWS TO OPEN AND NO AC.
Writing this while still staying at the hotel. I have been visiting playa del ingles and maspalomas once a year for the last 30 odd years. This is my honest review. The hotel is a little far out to the jumbo center but walkable. Taxi to yumbo about €6. The hotel is by the beach and close to bars and restaurants. There is a supermarket within the hotel, and the price is very reasonable. Hotel is very clean and I saw many staff cleaning, polishing, sweeping ect. Maids are brilliant and take great pride in their work. Reception staff are amazing! Always happy, and always happy to help with requests ect. When we checked in our room didn’t have a balcony and I asked if we could change when a room with a balcony became available. Not a problem, and room changed with no issues. The restaurant caters for many cultures so they have lots to choose from. My partner is a fussy eater and for the price we paid we was able to eat out when needed. Yes I have eaten better and had better choice at some hotels but I have also had worse! My only gripe is not been able to take out a coffee to your room! That said both my rooms had a kitchen with fridge. The rooms are of good size and standard. Clean and bathroom with power shower is great. Lots of hot water. €10 returnable deposit for flat screen tv remote control which is understandable. The pool is not heated although I did have a swim so it wasn’t too cold. Nice pool area with a top level area for sunbathing. Lots of sun beds and never had an issue finding space or a bed even when entering pool area late morning. Atmosphere is relaxed and laidback. All the staff here are friendly and helpful with smile. If you want amenities and food that’s 5 star then pay for it, but if you want a hotel that’s clean, tidy, good value, friendly and helpful staff then that’s in abundance here. I have stayed in much more expensive hotels where the service and staff attitude has been disappointing but here it is perfect.
Quite a disappointment. The location is great, the staff is nice and the view from the balcony (9th floor) is beautiful, but that's where the fun pretty much ends.
First of all, 90% of the time there is no warm water to shower with (or we've been getting very unlucky) and when we complained to the hotel they said to run the water for like 10 minutes before it actually gets warm which honestly sounds like an excuse and a waste of water. The outdoor pool isn't heated which isn't too bad since the warm air and sunlight make it a swimmable temperature when you're actively swimming in it but the jacuzzi isn't heated either (at least in April) which makes it really uncomfortable to use and it probably wouldn't even cost that much extra for the hotel to keep it heated. Also, the pool and jacuzzi are closed after 6pm which I find inconvenient especially there doesn't seem to be a reason for that since the pool is at max about 150cm deep and therefore hard to drown in.
Another thing that I do not like about this hotel is the lack of carpets on the floor and the floorplan itself, though these might just be because I've never really been anywhere South before and the lack of carpets and the floorplan are different than what I'm used to. Same with the food, I do not find it to be very tasty or high quality but it could just be because I'm picky. At least there's a McDonald's nearby.
The building is objectively in bad condition though and could definitely use some renovations, it was built in 1974 and it doesn't look like anything has been touched since. The elevator is slow, the door lock is annoying to use and the entire interior feels old. This isn't a deal breaker but I do think other hotels in the same price range might not feel so worn out.
Also every single day starting at maybe 9 or 10pm there is loud music coming from the lower floors, it doesn't bother me personally since I'm used to sleeping in the middle of noise (even though even I would still expect this to not happen in a hotel) but the rest of my family who are on the trip with me are very bothered by it and can't sleep well. I do not understand how this is allowed.
When I was looking at hotels I mainly chose this one for the location and the balcony view which are the only things that this hotel has going for it. Probably would not recommend.
The hotel itself is alright for the money we paid. Good location, clean, friendly staff and alright food.
BUT it is full of german pensioners who do not have any manners! They do not consider anyone but themselves and are very rude. Paper thin walls. Did not sleep well for the entire week even with ear plugs.
Do not go if you’re under 65 and not German. You will not like it here.
Highly recommended for value. Rooms above the 5th floor have excellent sea views, and our two roomed junior suite was a good size with everything we needed, including a modern shower. The hotel is right on the beach, and is clean and well kept. Food was good, and wine sold cheaply for dinner time. Plenty of sunbeds and room in the pool. The staff were uniformly helpful and pleasant, and the shop on the ground floor had fresh produce and reasonable prices. It was mainly quiet older couples, perfect for us, but wouldn't suit those wanting evening entertainment or a more lively atmosphere. Also, if you want to do the pleasant beach walk into Maspalomas dunes area you need to climb a flight of steps from the hotel.
