A really nice hotel. Staff, cleanliness, rooms, pool, location all excellent. Only downfall was queuing for food for five of seven nights as they closed one of the hot food counters. It was a bit like a free for all at times and chaotic with no order at all.
Great Hotel as many others say, Will say things that had to find out for myself. Love sports, and hotel is brilliant for it with daily activities like Archery,French Bowls, darts shooting etc all free, the animation team are fantastic and encourage anyone to take part of any abilities and they will spend time to teach you. There are 3 table tennis tables to play on any time as they are out doors, just can get windy with 3 comps each week all good fun. There is a pool table in unused bar area, it is 2 euros a time will only accept 1 euros x2 but can get change at reception. I took a pool cue never used as the pool balls are the large heavy type so used their cues. Food so much choice really has everything so no complaints. Did half board, thought of going all inclusive would be just 22 euros each extra per day (44 couple) would say 95% of people there were all inclusive both good, we probably came back a little slimmer with less hangover’s than if went all inclusive! Went out quite a few nights to the Irish bars as were only a 6 minute walk away ( left out of hotel then left again at shop straight ahead there’s in no time.) perfect to escape the hotel but not too far as easy to walk back from. Pool area was impressive, always sunbeds to be had, I noticed there was sometimes local day tickets Spanish people there, so you know it’s a good Hotel when used by locals people. Entertainment was good enjoyed it all. The bar we set up a credit card on day one to go on final bill, a large beer and large white wine cost 8.30 euros really good value and could pay by cash if wanted to even though Hotel says is cashless. Lots of people we met had been there more than once and would like to back there again-enough said.
The hotel’s location was fantastic, right in the heart of everything and spotlessly clean. However, the unprofessional staff ruined our holiday.
One particularly unpleasant incident occurred at the bar. When I mentioned I didn’t speak their language two men started laughing and gesturing in their own language right in front of us clearly mocking us. It seemed related to our order and was incredibly rude. Just because my partner ordered a mojito and I ordered a beer shouldn’t have been their concern. Being a man doesn’t mean you should drink a specific type of drink any more than a woman. Our holiday and our choices. But they judged us. I’ve never seen anything like it in my entire life.
Beyond this experience, the entire staff seemed to lack any sense of friendliness. From the guard at the entrance who looked at me like I was an intruder to the kitchen staff who barely acknowledged my presence and greeted me with rude faces, it was a constant reminder of how unfriendly everyone was.
The receptionist was equally unprofessional. I asked for help at 10pm and he rudely informed me he wasn’t a receptionist and to come back in the morning. However, I kept seeing him interacting with guests, assisting with check-ins and check-outs, and even helping other staff members, all of which a receptionist should be doing. It seemed he was genuinely disliking his job at that time and didn’t want to help us as he didn’t even want to listen our request, he quickly interrupted.
I’ll never return to this hotel and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who values a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.
The only exception is the cleaners, who were genuinely kind and helpful. Cheers to them! They do a fantastic job to keep the hotel/rooms spotless.
We love this hotel. We have visited 14 times but sadly this was our last visit. We were not told about the renovation work that was going on. Didn't bother us much though. The coaches can't enter the hotel so you are dropped off at the hotel next door. Food: Great disappointment. If your a fish lover you are going to be in fishy heaven. Meat options are few and far between. Soup: you need a knife and fork to eat it. I have never in my whole life seen soup so thick. Entertainment: Very poor. Nothing like it has been other years. Sad to see Holmes Marzo was not there. He is wonderful and used to get all up dancing. Bar Staff: Under a lot of pressure. Don't seem their usual happy selves. Reception Staff: Friendly and helpful as usual. Spa: would of been OK if they stopped one woman reserving 6 sunbeds and 2 cabana beds everyday and then leaving them with towels on while she went to her 6 reserved sunbeds by the pool. Rooms: Clean, tidy and always cleaned every day. Nothing went missing and we had designer items.
Not sure what happened on our last day but hotel had armed police on our floor and when we went to check out we had to wait for the coroner to take a body down in the lift. I prayed that the family of the deceased was coping. I feel that the hotel should of made sure that not one guest saw the removal of the body.
Would we go back? I say no but partner says yes.
Don't think it deserves the 4* it has. It has gone down so far I would only rate a 3*.
A smart looking hotel with great views and nice size pools and very clean, cleaners work tirelessly all day throughout the hotel.
