Staff, reception, pool, room, cleaning, food, breakfast, WiFi ALL excellent. One quibble which is very important to me is that breakfast coffee is so horrible that I think it must be instant coffee not espresso.
Been back from Mur hotel Neptuno in Gran Canaria and had a lovely holiday. The food is very good and same goes with the staff.. The pool is smaller than it looks with people reserving Sun lounges at silly o’clock in the morning, and then going off for most of the day...
which could be sorted because there is lifeguard on duty all day. The showers in the rooms are not thermostatic so keep going hot and cold which is very annoying. The rooms are smaller than normal but all have balconies and all adequate and nice clean. We unfortunately booked the first week in October and this is the fetish week for the gay community, so as a straight couple we was very outnumbered by 90%. With lots of surprising sites in the evening when we walked into the Yumbo centre
If I could rate the other guests at Netuno, I’d give it five stars as it’s the other holidayers who make the hotel so good. The staff are also very good and deserve a mention/thank you.
Unfortunately, the hotel are using Covid as an excuse for reduced service all too often...
For instance, there is no entertainment at all in the hotel. The bar at night has a truly awful playlist of 80’s ballads on loop that has you running to the nearest exit after the second loop. The reason for no entertainment - covid. For reference, other hotels in the area are providing it.
The have no courtesy room available (covid to blame again of course) yet all other hotels in the area are offering it. After a day at the pool, it’s only right they offer a shower so this is completely unreasonable.
I had a great stay but the hotel is tired, its exterior needs painted white as a minimum. The rooms need a big upgrade too as the wood chip is depressing.
Neptuno is a fair 3 stars, it’s not a four star hotel.
Not a 4 star hotel in any way shape or form. It's a 'just passable' 3 star hotel -if that. Cannot understand the rave reviews, I have stayed at far nicer, far cheaper hotels in Maspalomas that are truly 4 star. Unfriendly moody grumpy staff, bathroom in room is grubby, room dated, balcony view looks into a shaded loading bay, sauna and steam closed as well as shuttle bus allegedly due to covid but clearly to save cash, breakfast incredibly disappointing, probably the worst I've seen ever...
Gym is a run down tatty grubby joke full of knackered equipment in a dingy musty basement. Poolside cracked and grubby, the slide was fun but also very grubby. If this was ranked as 3 star and a 3 star price I would not be as critical but for what you get for the price it's a complete rip off! Whoever gave this 4 stars needs an eye test.
The staff are wonderful at this hotel, I have been using the hotel for a number of years and the service and friendliness is outstanding. It never ceases to amazes me that they always remember returning guests. This hotel gives me everything I need from a holiday, rest, relaxation and a nightlife if iIwant it.
