Marina Suites Puerto Rico

Lovely hotel, all rooms are Suites, we were in a select suite on the 8th Floor. The view was spectacular. The Marina, beach and Mountain View’s were gorgeous. There is some noise from the boatyard but it doesn’t spoil the experience. The room is large and airy, very quiet hotel. The hotel is on the flat and easy to walk into where all bars and restaurants are, The facilities in the room are great, good fridge, kettle, toaster etc if you want to prepare own food. Supermarkets are not too far away.

We were on b&b and breakfast choices were really good. There is an omelette station and Edwardo makes a lovely omelette of your choice. Appreciates good feedback. Really great choices of cold meats, cheeses, fruit, full English and there’s a bakery etc. one of the best breakfasts I’ve had in a hotel. All the staff in the hotel are friendly and helpful without exception.

The hotel is in a fab location on the flat (very hilly area as you would expect) can easily walk around the Marina, into bars/restaurants/shops. There is some noise from the boatyard next to the hotel which is very much unavoidable and doesn’t spoil the experience. Nice large suites with separate bedroom. All very clean and tidy, very quiet too.

You can opt to not have your room cleaned daily which we did and they give you a €4 voucher each time that you can redeem off your final bill if you spend in the bar or around the pool. Or you can donate to their chosen charity. (Nice feature).

On the whole this is a perfect hotel I would say for a couple, we were celebrating our Golden Wedding Anniversary (although despite being informed when booking, the hotel didn’t acknowledge) we also hadn’t realised there is an app you can download and order special occasion items for your room.

The only negatives about our experience was A) the toilet in the bathroom smells despite being cleaned. (Plumbing issue probably) B) we were on the 8th floor, there were 3 available small lifts but 2 were out of order for the whole 10 days we were there, and despite saying held 6 people it definitely didn’t, so would spend a long time waiting to use the lift to go up to the room. We walked down but too high to walk up. There didn’t seem to be any explanation from staff as to why they were both not working.

Overall I’d give a 10/10 for this hotel.

Nice welcome when we arrived, but only 2 of the 3, four/six person lifts working. By our third day only one lift carrying 4 large or 6 small people working, and it remained the case for the next four days. Our room on the 8th floor was lovely, just a lot of steps up there. Fabulous views and well equipped. A few sugar ants in the kitchen, even though we had no food in the room. Ended on a low when the night before check out we asked at reception of there would be a room available to shower and change as we had a late departure. We were told yes, we should book it when we checked out. No room available when we checked out, fully booked! Offered the pool shower, where it was obviously wet with no where to put clean clothes and no privacy, not to mention the queue. Be warned, DON’T wait until check out to book a shower on departure.

A beautiful hotel were you are greeted by wonderful staff members on arrival and that quality service continues right throughout your stay .Food excellent in el peueto restaurarnt .The pool area is beautuful and no problem getting a sunbed. We stayed on the 9th floor the hotel room was amazing . Well worth a visit . Staff from reception to the cleaners were all so helpful and nice and make the hotel what it is .We will be back .
