This apartment complex enjoys a prime setting overlooking the harbour, and lying just 300 metres from the beach. This complex is beautifully located on the charming island of Gran Canaria. Shops, restaurants, bars and entertainment venues are located just a short walking distance away. Links to the public transport network are to be found nearby. This wonderful complex comprises beautifully-appointed apartments, which are well equipped with modern amenities. The apartments provide a peaceful setting in which to unwind at the end of the day. Guests will be pleased by the range of facilities and services that the complex has to offer.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
As a retired couple we go away on holiday 4 times a year, and we look for certain aspects when booking a place to stay. We have 3 regular places and we were hoping that this would be our 4th.
We arrived at around 10pm, and check in was a breeze. Extremely friendly and happy gent on the desk despite the late hour. No drink offered, but there is a very large dish of fudge at the end of the desk, that is regularly topped up. The tourist tax is minimal. We were there for a 4 week stay, and this amounted to just over 8 euros. Safe cost was 80 euros for the duration.
We had upgraded to an apartment instead of a studio, and we're allocated a room on the 2nd floor, room 216 facing the pool/ marina. The room is open plan, and the bedroom section is just as you enter the room. The bed was comfy, though the pillows were a bit of a let down, but the bedding was changed at least twice a week which was a lovely bonus. There is air-conditioning in both bedroom and living area which was adequate even through the hot conditions. Bathroom is a good size with a walk in shower. The kitchen has ample storage once you have re arranged the pans for shopping. Crockery etc is supplied in 3 of everything, though our room didn't have a fish slice, and trying to lift a fried egg out of the pan with a draining spoon caused a few giggles. There is a decent sofa , and smart TV and the WiFi in the room was excellent . Beautiful large balcony with excellent reclining chairs. We did encounter a couple of problems, a leak from the air-conditioning which dripped through the ceiling, and a few cockroaches throughout our stay,. There was also on occasions a whiffy smell when we entered the room after it had been closed all day.
We didn't use the restaurant or bar, but we were told that breakfast was 15 euros each, or a block booking of 5 cost 60 euros. Snacks were available but the pool bar closed at 4.30pm.
There are ample sunbeds around the pool, but we chose to use the adult only rooftop terrace, which has a jacuzzi. This is a real sun trap, so we're were surprised when we arrived that there were very few parasols for the amount of beds. We asked at reception for extra , which did arrive by week 3 of our stay.
This is a very quiet hotel, so no entertainment, which suited us just fine. Maybe not everyone's cup of tea.
On the whole the majority of staff were extremely friendly, though the cleaning staff need to be trained to be more consistent. Dependant on who you got depended on whether it was cleaned, or a bit slap dash.
The surrounding area has some good restaurants and a Belgian beer bar, which was excellent. There are supermarkets within easy walking distance, and you can purchase water from reception, a big bonus.
To conclude, we had a nice stay, marred only by what has already been mentioned, plus the area seems to be struggling this year by mosquitos, apparently due to the amount of rainfall earlier in the year. Not the hotel's fault, but they took a particular liking to myself no matter how much stuff I sprayed. So I doubt we will return.
My partner and 18 year old daughter stayed in the Morasol Suites for 8 days in June. As it was my daughter's first time staying in her own room, I emailed the hotel in advance and asked if there was any chance she could be located near to our room. Had a kind reply saying they couldn't guarantee but would put a note on the booking which I absolutely understood. True to their word we were assigned rooms next to each other.
We both had one bedroom apartments on the second floor with a balcony. Both rooms were well laid out, clean, large bathroom and air-con (the temperature is centrally maintained but we found it more than adequate). The kitchen had everything you would need although we only really used the kettle and the fridge.
The Reception staff were always extremely helpful, we asked for late checkout for one of our rooms the day before we left and although they said they couldn't confirm until the following day, they were able to accommodate which made our last day much more relaxing.
My only criticism is the dreaded sunbed reserving! There was a note with the keycards asking not to reserve sunbeds, there was one family who reserved 5 sunbeds every morning and they were left empty until approx 3 pm and then only used for an hour by 1 or 2 people. I appreciate it's the selfishness of the guests but would suggest that the lifeguard could remove the towels if they sunbeds are seen empty for hours on end. It wasn't a massive issue for us as there were still enough beds but could see it being an issue in the main July/August holiday.
Only other suggestion would be keeping the pool bar open later or opening the bar in the main foyer area. We would have loved to have stayed for a drink in the hotel before going out to dinner but it wasn't possible.
Would like to pass on my thanks to all of the staff, particularly the cleaners and Reception.
My husband and I have just spent another enjoyable, relaxing 11 night stay in this wonderful hotel. As soon as we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by exceptional staff who are like family to us.
This quiet hotel is located close to the marina and is within walking distance to the beach, restaurants, bars, The Olas & Commercial Centres. The hotel is spotless. The rooms are well laid out with comfortable beds & good air conditioning. The pool & solarium areas have plenty of sunbeds & parasols.
All the staff in this hotel work tirelessly to make sure all the guests have a wonderful stay. They are friendly and efficient and despite being very busy, would always have time to say hello.
We have stayed here several times and are looking forward to many more holidays in this wonderful hotel. Thank you Morasol Team x
Just had our first stay here and we will definitely be back. Great location, lovely and peaceful with beautiful views. Great size rooms, with all kitchen amenities. Could do with a lick of paint and freshen up but couldn’t fault anything else. Staff were always very helpful and super friendly. Location was perfect, close to little supermarket and great little restaurants and only 15 mins from nightlife in Center.
Absolutely love the Morosol. Beautiful views of the harbour. Large rooms, great staff. 2nd time. Be back in August and already booked for next May. Love the peace and quiet. Rooftop fab. Thank you Morosol
