A month in the sun!
This is a 3 star hotel. The reception staff are fantastic, helpful and knowledgeable and the housekeeping excellent. It's a 30 minute walk to Bahia Felix with its selection of restaurants. The one problem is although there are sunbeds on the roof they have no cushions and many of the sunbeds around the pool are broken. The guest put towels to reserve space around pool around 8 pm! The restaurant is without atmosphere. This was my second stay here and by and large I felt it to be relaxing, pleasant and good value. The balconies have enough room for two to sit around a table and great views over the bay. I did not see people using the spa. It's a quite hotel popular with seniors. I will probably return next year for another 28 days.

January break
My friend and I had a weeks holiday this month at the Marinasol. We booked a one bedroom twinned room apartment,with a sun terrace. We actually got a room which had bedroom and living room all in one and the sun terrace wasn't sunny at any time of the day, so we didn't use really. The best room is 404. The room was cleaned and towels changed and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. I found the noise from the road nearby noisy and it is a 20 minute walk to the beach, which was lovely, but we had to get taxis when going out in the evenings which was an additional cost. So whilst we really liked Gran Canaria and would go again, I don't think we would stay at this hotel again, it's too far out and only a handful of rooms get sun. They also need decent sun loungers on the sun terrace as plastic slatted ones very uncomfortable.
Amazing Place
Firstly, forgret any negative reviews you might read on here about MarinaSol, I have just returned yesterday (26/11/19) from a weeks stay her, the place is excellent, kept immaculate with the maids, pool cleaned six days a week, towels and bed sheets soft and as white as snow when we got them changed five days of the week, All of the staff were very helpfull with anything my wife or myself asked, the restaraunt was excellent and food very good, the rooms were well maintained and kept very clean,,We cant complain about anything at the MarinaSol and thank you for a wonderful stay,

Nice hotel but avoid the restaurant at all costs
We stayed here 1 night because our flight got changed. The people at the reception are friendly and the appartments are nice and clean. I would rate the hotel about 4 or 4.5 out of 5 if it wasnt for our bad experience at their restaurant (see down)
The neighbourhood is not the best as there is not much to see and the nearby beach is not that great. There is a small shop at 50meter where you can probably find all you need.
In the evening, we decided to go eat in the restaurant of the hotel. We ordered a Fanta(as they didn't have half of their advertised smoothies), a tequila sunrise, a pizza and a spaghetti. We noticed that the Fanta was expired since october 2018 (almost a year, but no big deal this can happen I guess). We told the waiter,who just grummed a bit, put that Fanta back in his fridge!!! and went to the shop to look for another Fanta (which he didn't find). When the food arrived, we noticed that the cheese that comes with the spaghetti was expired (it had green stuff growing on it). Again we told the waiter, who just took the cheese, and never brought us new one. During the whole time they never apologized once! We left the place eating just half of our food and complained at the reception, as none of the waiters seemed to care / speak english.
Advise to the hotel: better change the management of your restaurant as it is going to ruin your hotel.

A week in the sun in July-quiet family holiday
Came for a week away with partner and 6 year old daughter we go back in 2 days time. Will be sad to leave.Lovely hotel only Spanish people here so nobody to interact with but bonus was the pool was near enough empty constantly so we had it all to ourselfs no flighting for sun loungers :) the pool is very clean. The beach is close but is pebbly so we got a taxi for 9 euros to maspolamas sandy becah. Aqualand maspolamas was AMAZING perfect for my daughter who is 6 but only 100cm tall so small for age but were plenty of slides that were big and she could go on which was great we also paid 45 euro extra for her to swim with sea lions for an hour was fantastic!highly recommend aqualand ! Hotel restaurant is always open but I havnt seem anybody in it at all! We have eaten in a lot as there is only the hotel restaurant and no restaurant nearby at all :( there is a supermarket literally across the road and taxi rank at bottom of the road that goes anywhere. Playa de ingles is the next resort then maspolamas isn't far either. We went on a boat trip with grancanariaboattrips it was a dolphin spotting trip on a caremarran really cheap and included he coach there and back to Puerto Rico but my little one got very boat sick unfortunately but for anyone that's not sea sick I would highly recommend !! The hotel is really really quiet only a few locals staying here no entertainment and nothing nearby except the supermarket so if you want peace and quiet it's ideal. We wanted quiet but found it a bit too quiet as nothing to do at night without spending 10 euro each way for taxi. Cleaners come in late morning which is good. Apartment is good amazing view !!!!!! There's a fridge 2 ring hob toaster and filter coffee maker. No kettle but we just used ge coffee machine to heat the water up worked a treat:) beds very comfy and fab shower. Internet is 6 euro for 24 hours and limited to one device . We paid for it for one day for my daughters I pad and was worth it very good signal. Apartment has air con but we havnt really used it as the sun never hits the apartments or balconys. Cleaners are good. Oven would have been great but not the end of the world. Fridge works very well very cold. Soux city is literally round the corner and thats a brilliant day out for the family also would highly recommend it. Oh there is ONE restaurant which is literally on the doorstep but it must be being refurbished as it's closed until the end of September. Buses are reasonably priced and bus stop is down the road. We went to las palmas for the day to find some shops for souvenirs that was good also. I'd recommend the hotel if you want quiet and the pool to yourselfs but don't need bars/restaurants etc close by. Hotel itself though very clean and nice and hotel food is also nice from the one time we ate in it.there are lifts and only 4 floors. We are in apartment 402 lovely view but I think they all have lovely view of the sea as all face that way :) hope my review helps! I dont usually leave reviews so apologies if I rambled on :/ aquapark maspolamas is a must day out brilliant day it really made the holiday :)
