Excellent, save for a few of the waiting staff

Excellent, save for some waiting staff

Simply couldn’t fault the hotel, location is incredible- literally by the sea. You could spend days listening to the waves crashing, it’s truly magical. Most rooms have a sea view to die for...

The hotel itself is spotless, constantly cleaned. The chamber maids are so friendly and always in good form, not easy when cleaning in the heat with masks on (Covid precautions). The food is excellent overall, breakfast is a buffet and dinner is served in 5 courses.

The only thing I can fault the place on is some of the waiting staff. Bar two of the younger staff, they are quite rude and aggressive. Perhaps this is because they feel those on half board will not tip, however I always would regardless, if service was good. Unfortunately you are made to feel quite unwelcome and annoying if you order anything. That is a pity when everything else about the hotel is excellent. As I said, not all waiting staff are like this, two younger staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.

Overall, I would love to come back should they service be a little less fretful. A truly stunning location to spend your well earned holiday!

A Really Lovely Stay!

Review by David W Hailsham

We have just returned from a thirteen-night vacation at this hotel (End of February into March.), and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The Beach Club's location is enviable - right on the beautiful beach/stunning coastline - and our room (Third floor.) offered marvellous views over the sea from our balcony. It was difficult to drag yourself away from just gazing out at this fantastic panorama.

The hotel is smart and spotlessly clean...

We were extremely comfortable in our room. Another major plus is the friendliness, helpfulness and all-round efficiency of the staff - above and beyond the call of duty! The two-pools area is spacious and a delight to relax in. We were bed and breakfast guests, but did make fequent use of the dining area and bar, and were impressed by the quality, value and service offered.

So, a fine hotel, in a sublime spot, and with excellent staff. We would not hesitate to stay there again. Thank you, San Agustin Beach Club!

Traditional hotel in a fantastic location

Stayed for a week with the primary aims of relaxing and getting some winter sun. The location is ideal for both, next to an extensive sandy beach and with long walks possible along the promenade outside the hotel. Most rooms have impressive sea views...

Rooms are clean and spacious with all the facilities you would expect although there was a very limited amount of tea and coffee available in the room which was not replenished unless you paid extra. In parts the decor is getting a little tired but we considered this part of the hotel’s character. The 2 pools and surrounding areas were well maintained and never overcrowded. As there are numerous restaurants nearby we only had breakfast at the hotel. Service was always prompt and polite. There was a wide range of food available on a buffet basis reflecting the range of different nationalities the hotel caters for. San Agustin is much quieter than the larger resorts further down the coast. The airport, Las Palmas and all of the coastal resorts can be accessed by the local buses that are cheap, efficient and mostly very new. When we arrived we were welcomed with a glass of Cava and on my birthday presented with a bottle of sparkling wine; nice touches! Definitely recommended if you want a relaxing break in a relatively small hotel with a beach location

Great hotel in a fab location

Review by GEPhil Llanelli, United Kingdom

Hotel is literally a stone's throw from the beach. The double room with balcony and sea view was spacious and comfortable. Air-con very effective...

All staff very helpful and courteous. Nice promenade runs for about 5 miles towards Maspalomas - great for walking or jogging. Best thing? - the food! Being a vegetarian can be a bit of a pain when looking for somewhere to have an evening meal abroad. The hotel couldn't have been more helpful - it was a set 5 course meal every evening i.e. no choice, but the standard and variety was fantastic with a veggie option for every course. Well worth it. The only negative thing to say about the hotel is the poor standard of gym equipment - 1 bike, 1 cross-trainer and 1 treadmill in a warm room with no air-con. Otherwise I would highly recommend the hotel and the resort
