Secrets Lanzarote Resort and Spa

Just returned from a wonderful week at this hotel. We loved every minute, from the moment we were greeted with exceptional service at check-in until the moment we sadly left. A few highlights, tips and info:

The food and restaurants were exceptional, and that’s coming from a couple who love their food! The main reason we booked this hotel was because the à la carte restaurants were included within our all inclusive package, and they did not disappoint. We thoroughly enjoyed Oceana (fish restaurant), Portofino (Italian restaurant) and Bluewater (grill restaurant) in the evenings. At lunchtimes, we enjoyed the Barefoot grill and the buffet, which was of a higher quality than other all inclusive buffets I’ve visited.

The pool areas were all kept spotlessly clean. We opted for the smaller, quieter pool, which was incredibly tranquil. Some recent reviews have mentioned issues with sun beds. During our stay, the demand for sun beds by the pool certainly increased, but we were always able to get beds with an umbrella up until about 9am. Additionally, the lifeguards effectively responded to sun bed issues very quickly, ensuring that sun beds were not left unattended for hours on end, and helping to find and relocate sun beds for those struggling to find one.

We were not a part of the “preferred club” so cannot comment on this, but didn’t feel like we missed out at all.

This hotel is great for cat lovers as there are cats living within the resort. They are properly cared for, not strays, and most are very friendly. If you are not a cat lover, they won’t bother you and cause no issues at all.

A little walk down to the marina is worth it!

The staff worked tirelessly to provide excellent service. We did think that at times, some bars and restaurants felt a little under-staffed as drinks took a while to arrive - no fault of those working as they couldn’t go any quicker, but a couple of extra people would have made all the difference.

Check-out was 12pm but our transfer wasn’t until 5pm. We were delighted that our “all inclusive” perks were able to continue until our departure, so that we could have a meal and drinks throughout the final day. We were also given a room to shower and freshen up for 30 minutes before our transfer, which was very appreciated.

Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would recommend this hotel to others.

Just arrived back from 10 days All Inclusive at Secrets Lanzarote and loved it. From arrival to departure we had a lovely time, travelled with friends to celebrate my husbands 50th, never been to Lanzarote before so it was new for us all. A slight mishap upon arrival to Lanzarote airport via Jet2 - due to huge issues at Birmingham airport on the day we travelled, our luggage was not loaded onto the plane with us - so had the best part of 3 days without any luggage - the hotel were really good and helped us but a huge special mention has to go to Veronica on reception for her persistance with the airport staff to get our luggage - she was amazing! The hotel itself is really lovely and swish - rooms were plenty big enough, food was excellent in all restaurants, fantastci choice in the World Cafe buffet, my friend is Coeliac but they catered fer her well. We paid for Preferred Club which was nice, we could to any of the onsite Restaurants without having to book and as many times as we liked, also the Preferred club pool is really nice and quiet too. Piano Bar was great in the evening, special mention to Arturo for getting our drinks spot on every night - the spicy Bloody Mary's were bang on, Also Viktor in the Sports bar was great and does a great Baby Guiness. Also have to mention Liana in Concierge - what a love she is, such a nice lady. If we were being really picky we would say that the Sports bar needs a bit of a revamp and make over, it is not open everynight and lacks a bit of oommph - it is not used to its full potential - could easily serve bar snacks etc - think they are missing a slight trick with this bar. Also the Pool bar in the preferred area closes in the evening - this woud be a perfect sunset bar (has great views of the ocean) if they remained open and would give guests another bar option as it can get very busy in the Piano bar. Alot of steps throughout the hotel, although they have lifts, anyone with slight mobility issues might struggle. All in all - a really lovely stay and we would definitely come back.
