Pool

The hotel is an excellent choice for familes. It has everything on site that you could ever wish for , even very young children, with a huge indoor playgym . Its very clean, the restaurant has a fantastic choice and the pool bar has too. Children can learn to swim in the indoor pools with proper tuition. Send your other half to the gym whilst you sunbathe.  Outdoor tennis, crazy golf. Very friendly staff what more could you want?

Amazing place to stay

About 1 km from teguise square an a nice stroll . Initial view was a  very nice hotel with a decent sized pool and loads of sun-beds, the pool is very cold , there is also a heated indoor pool and a gym which guests can use alongside the public . There is a second pool in the hotel vicinity that share the site and it is for holiday property bond holders (HPB) but not available for Santa Rosa guests. Key code to get access. The superior rooms are massive and recommended and whole on whole well maintained with microwave , fridge, coffee machine, kettle an two cooking rings .Locally there are a few bars and  restaurants especially the Fisherman’s inn around the hotel which is well worth frequenting 
. The breakfast is the usual cooked and uncooked foods ,Half board is evening meal only , no option to eat in the afternoon , the choice of food though is hugely disappointing. and when compared to other hotels in lanza, other canaries and mainland Spain . This negative is not only from myself but other guests . In our apartment the balcony wall ( balustrade) has a glass panel and on arrival the glass has substantial crack in it . Reported to reception. But not replaced before  leaving . The apartment sun-beds  need a very good clean and lack of housekeeping in my view is evident , never seen pool area swept or hosed down during our stay , there was rubbish on the footpath to reception which remained in place for 3 days . One of the Swimming pool canopy stands( legs ) was severely corroded , but work was started  to replace them and metal grinders used to dismantle , but rust an debris left in work area and on sunbeds which weren’t moved from the work area . While modernisation is on goin in the apartments , with a bit of effort the housekeeping issue could easily be rectified and improve the site . Lastly noticed today the laminated flooring boards in the reception area are starting to lift which may cause a trip hazard .

Santa Rosa 3*plus

Just back from our second lovely 10 day stay at Santa Rosa. As a family of 4 (2 adults and kids 6 & 2yrs) we booked a 2 bed bungalow. We were given 1090 which is in the top corner of the complex and has been upgraded.

Made a good impression when we first arrived. Nice furniture. Looking a little deeper and the amenities in the room were very tired. The table leg for the kitchen table was completely rusty and corroded. The kitchen equipment was very old. I asked them to replace the frying pan as the Teflon coating was coming off. The kitchen tap came apart and fell in the sink but I put it back together. No cooker, just 2 electric hob rings and a microwave. All our mattresses were replaced for new ones during our stay too.

Lots of tiny ants which are a real pain, they are everywhere in the apartments.

The apartment had air con control panels installed but it didn’t work. Spoke to reception who said they won’t be turning on the air con until all rooms have had it installed, which will be summer 2025. 

Lovely walk to Playa Jablillo, restaurants and shops. Hiper Dino, outside the complex, is very well stocked. We also used the large Spar by the Lanzarote Gardens hotel. 

Pool extremely cold, made more unbearable by the strong winds of Lanzarote; but once you’re in it’s ok. 

Kids loved the play park, mini golf and the bingo at 4pm at the pool bar.

Despite the few niggles we had a great time!

Our second visit

We found Santa Rosa on our 3rd trip to Lanzarote when we visited friends staying there. Never gone anywhere else since.

Our go-to place in Lanzarote!

We stayed at the resort for a week in June 2024 and were very happy with our appartment and the resort.
The HPB section probably accounts for about a third of the total site and benefits from some features that are unique to them, most notably the swimming pool, car parking spaces and office.
The appartment was on the first floor and had ample size for the 3 of us. There were 2 bedrooms, 1 double and 1 twin, 1 bathroom, an open plan kitchen with fridge freeezer, single oven, ceramic hob, microwave, kettle and toaster. There was a dining table adjacent to the kitchen and a living room that led to the main balcony. There was a large tv and chairs and sofa. The main balcony was a good size with tables, chairs and sun lounges. It might have been a bit tight for 4 of us, but perfectly ok for 3. There was a balcony at the rear bedroom as well but it was very small and had no space for sitting or anything.
We had worried about the lack of air conditioning but it was never an issue and we did not have to,use any of the three fans that were provided. It felt warm in the night but never oppressive. Temperature at night was around 20 degrees.
At the time of our visit there was a problem with BBC tv signals, as it was not available. It was not an issue for us as we rarely used it. The hob was also problematic and better instructions could have been provided.
The internet was very good (HPB rather than resort) and coped well with 3 phones and 3 tablets. Photos transferred very quickly.
I noted on reviews of the resort as a whole that there were problems with sun beds adjacent to the main pools and unfortunately this was the case for the main pool. I saw the same gentleman reserving 3 sun beds at 7am every day. There did seem to be some spaces available during the day but if you are in a larger group it could be a problem. If you are staying at the HPB bit then there are no pre-booking of sun beds and there were always spaces available.
There is a bar close to both pools and it had a reasonable range and was fairly priced. There were warm snacks and meals, smoothies, cocktails and draught lagers available. I found all the staff there helpful. Indeed, we went down there one evening and the kitchen had closed. The lady cooked us some chips and offered us apple pie and cream.
We did not use any of the restaurant facilities there so we cannot comment on them.
You could book excursions if you wanted too, but we had hired a car so had no need to do so. HPB also arranged some social events, including a barbeque and visits to local restaurants.
The location of the site was ok for us. It is in a quieter area and is about a 15 minute walk from Plaza Pueblo Marinero. Depending on your route it is a fairly flat walk both ways with just one short hilly part. The good news is that a taxi was under 3 euros for three of us from there.
I would recommend that you go to this area as there is a really good atmosphere and a really good range of eateries. The service at Casa Blanca was first class and the food delicious.
There are a lot of eating options immediately close to the resort. We dined out locally on 2 occasions, the New Mill and El Evda Mar, and were satisfied with both. The menus were  not extensive but had enough to appeal and were not expensive. The New Mill was very busy and seemed to have a lot of happy regulars.
There is a supermarket very close and a baker’s called Daniel’s that was recommended.
I would recommend hiring a car if you want to see more of the island. It gives you much more access and flexibility. Petrol is much cheaper than in the UK and the Island is not that big, so you can get to most parts of the island within an hour and a half.
We would return without question.

Enjoyable stay at HPB Santa Rosa

The apartment complex is located in Costa Teguise 350m to the beach of Playa Bastian. The town centre is only 1 km away, the capital in 6 km and to the airport only 12 km. This hotel is suitable for cycling breaks and welcomes cyclists from all over the world. The hotel boasts facilities to support both the leisure and professional cyclist.
