Lovely hotel, great holiday

A lovely hotel with great facilities. I really don’t understand some of the negative reviews. The apartments are great with everything you need. Kitchen, lovely bathroom facilities and nice bed and dining area. The facilities are great, loads of pools around the apartments, a full size Olympic pool, a bar pool and a beach area within the hotel grounds. Lovely food if you are all inclusive. They keep the hotel super clean, the cleaners work very hard to keep the hotel spotless. If you complain about this hotel you must be a snob or just looking for complaints.

The only thing that could be better is the sun beds. They are sometimes a bit old and uncomfortable. But they are still okay and it’s not a major thing. The mattress on the beds are very soft. Now some people may like that but I prefer a harder mattress. However, for 7 days it was fine, no major problem.

We went in November when the heat was around 25 degrees. The apartments do not have aircon so I can imagine they can be hot in peak season. However, some people asked for, and were provided with fans.

They have a wellness area, a couple of bars, a really good gym area and lots of things like pool, table tennis around the complex. It situated right near all the restaurants, shops and bars. 10 minute walk maximum to the beach and shops.

My partner and I had a lovely stay and I would 100% recommend this hotel. Ignore the few negative reviews this is a lovely hotel, with staff that work extremely hard to make it a great stay. We would definitely return, Sands Beach, Lanzarote was superb.

Get rid of the basketball net near Sol apartments. Bouncing of the ball all day beside accomodation would drive you nuts

Always loved this hotel however the rooms are becoming a bit tired. Staff are lovely however one major problem was the continual banging of a football / basketball in the children's play area at the sol apartments. I mean this noise banged all day from 7.00am until 8 or 9 pm at night. Whoever thought a basketball net within 30 feet of apartments need to think again and remove it. Have been here at this resort eight times but the continual bouncing of a basketball all day long starts to grind especially when one comes on holiday to relax. Would not come back as a result.

Ignore negative reviews

I was nervous coming here after reading the reviews but what an amazing place, staff were friendly and helpful, I had a slight problem in the apartment and within 30mins it was fixed. The complex was very clean, the maids were in the apartment if you wanted it cleaned, and the bed got changed. The pool was lovely but cold. Every apartment gets 1 lounger which is in good condition but the ones round the pool were not the best. We were self catering and had everything we needed. There is a self service laundry for €6, which was handy. There is a shop on site that we thought was reasonably priced and it saves you carrying heavy water etc a distance. The resort is right at the beach and you can walk to the bars and shops in 10mins. The resort isn't 5☆ and is a bit dated but it's clean and the bed was so comfy. I don't understand some of the negative reviews, one woman complaining about buying her kids juice from the restaurant of course its going to be expensive, there is a shop on your doorstep buy juice there and put it in the fridge. :-) I would recommend Sands Beach, its nice, relaxing and the location is amazing.

Outdated, dirty and poor facilities. Nice staff and good location though.

Flat was outdated and looked like it had not been renovated since the 90s. Floor boards broken and swinging up and down when walked on. Bath tub had cigarette burns- put me off having a bath and showering. Sofa was dirty and looked like it had not been cleaned or changed since the hotel first opened. I did not want to sit on it. No amenities in the hotel such as salt and pepper or even water. Room did not have AC- very hot night, no fan. Had to go ask reception for a fan. However it was delivered promptly. Positives: staff were very nice and polite. Easy to check in and out. Close to the beach but not a pretty beach. Island bar/restaurant charged for sun chairs which I did not like- if you are a member of the hotel you should not be charged or be charged a reduced rate such as €1-2 not €6. It’s an affordable price, but not for a dirty and run down hotel.

Great winter sun getaway

Lovely resort grounds are spotlessly clean, good pool areas for all ages and nice places to eat and drink. Accommodation could do with getting some updating as felt a bit dark inside but apartments are very well equipped including a dishwasher. Plenty sockets in all rooms
