We've just come back from a fortnight here, 1st to 14th August, and it was our second stay. Seven of us in total, my wife and I plus children aged 20, 17 and 6, which is a fairly demanding spread of ages to keep happy. The hotel manages it.
Location is a big part of why we came back. There's a supermarket right outside the back gate and several more within an easy walk. The Marina Rubicón restaurants are about five minutes walk away, Playa Blanca itself around twenty, and the beaches nearby are lovely. You genuinely don't need a car.
The rooms are the other reason we returned. Modern, properly large and with enormous double beds. After two weeks of family life in close quarters, that space matters more than you'd think. Housekeeping was excellent throughout, and particular credit to Lina, who looked after our room every day and kept it spotless without fail.
The buffet is perfectly good. The salads are excellent, and the selection was wide enough that we were still finding things we fancied in week two, which is no small achievement. All seven of us found plenty we enjoyed, fussy six year old included.
The pool is enormous and we spent most days on loungers around it. Which brings me to the sunlounger racing. It happens daily, it isn't ideal, and I'll be honest, I took part. I queued from around 8.40 each morning to be near the front when the gates open at 9am. There is a certain indignity in jogging towards a sunbed at that hour, but with seven of us I decided the indignity was a fair price for a comfortable day by the pool. Most loungers were gone by 9.05, though the odd one or a pair could usually be found later on. I don't especially like the system, but I've not yet seen a hotel anywhere solve the problem better.
Overall, a hotel that works for a big family group with wildly different needs. We've re-booked for next year, which is probably the most honest review I can give it.
We have a wonderful family stay at this hotel in August 2026. From the spacious rooms to the beautiful garden and pool areas we couldn’t fault the hotel. We stayed for 10 days and assumed we would need to eat out as All inc can be rather bland but that wasn’t the case here. Breeze bar was also great for our teens. Highly recommend a stay here.
A really beautiful hotel, food was lovely, great selection. Champs bar and the bar in the lobby were very good for cocktails, bar staff really good particular in the lobby bar. Pool was so big with loads of sun-beds and umbrellas, I will Diffently be back. One thing and unfortunately this is turning this beautiful 5 star hotel in my eyes to a 3 star, is the sun-bed wars, people leaving towels on the sunbeds all day . Gates open at 9 but people queuing up from 8, in my opinion at the gates , guests should be told that if they leave towels on beds they most use them instead of leaving them for hours. It’s not fair on people who actually do want to use them. I have witnessed a couple leaving towels on beds and not coming back to them until the evening. Staff need to sort this because it’s making this very nice and classy hotel not so.
We had a wonderful stay from arrival to departure. Rooms are spacious , modern and very clean . The staff are exemplary in every way and always available to assist. Fantastic location where the views are perfect. The food served throughout the restaurant ,bars and pool were excellent quality and cannot wait to return . Well done to all your team .
