Just returned yesterday after a weeks break and tbh we were very disappointed, we arrived a bit late because of the queues at airport for this ees scanning, we were greeted by a miserable receptionist and felt he couldnt be bothered to explain things. Rooms were nice but not many drawers for storage, The dining room was spacious but always had loads of tables not cleared, staff were unpleasant in my opinion the food wasnt great and never hot,there were many people not happy with the food, also the pool bar was pretty awful with poor choices, all in all a lovely hotel that could be much better
I feel compelled to write a new review, having stayed here a further 5 times since my initial review in 2021. As per the title, some improvements are needed but overall I still had a really positive experience.
I'll start with the cons;
Now the pros of my stay;
I would definitely stay again, though it would regain my 5 star rating if the picked up the pace on food, room decor and wait times in the outside bars
We recently returned from a relaxing week in this hotel, booked with Jet2. We arrived during a power cut, but apparently this is unusual. Room access, drinks orders etc were via a wristband, which was convenient. The room safe cost 16 euros for the week. Pool towels were free provided they were returned before end of stay. We had a late transfer/return flight so booked a free 30 minute slot in a courtesy room (as room checkout was midday). Our room 2082 was generally fine. We had a couple of issues, but maintenance fixed them straight away, so no complaints. However, the balcony was very small, with a poor view over the roof. Also, the sliding doors were stiff, with a protruding catch that we both caught ourselves on (see photos). The shower over the bath was somewhat dated, and took a while to get warm. The hotel is well located with a short walk from the back of the pool to the beach, then pleasant walks along the sea front promenade in either direction (old town to the right, marina to the left). There was a nice handicraft market on Wednesday and Saturday. Generally, the food was good (we were half board), but there were a few issues with the restaurant, which seemed to us to be understaffed. We often struggled to find a clean table set for two at breakfast/dinner, and therefore sat at a table set for four. As the clientele was mainly couples, this really needs addressing. Sometimes crockery or cutlery would run out. The breakfast cereal jars often ran low, and were difficult to serve from. At dinner it was annoying to be served with meat/fish and then have to wait in a different queue for vegetables, so that meat/fish gets cold. We enjoyed an Italian meal in Dolce Vita, and coffee and cakes in Mike’s Coffee. In general, we found the drinks to be good quality and reasonably priced. The entertainment was average, although we did enjoy the sax player in the Vintage bar, and the Beatles tribute outside. We tried a couple of the activities arranged by the animation team (boule and archery). It was disappointing that there wasn’t a table tennis tournament all week, given that there were two tables available. We didn’t use the main pool, but did try the other pool in the quieter area accessed through the crazy golf. The communal areas of the hotel were good, but based on ours the hotel rooms would benefit from an upgrade. We noticed the room above us was being redecorated, so perhaps the process is ongoing.
This is our 4th visit to this hotel. Though this is the first time in quite a few years.
It’s a top end Average!
Generally we found the hotel clean and most of the staff were friendly.
Sadly it’s lost its finesse! Maybe the AI makes that happen. The buffet diner is limited and it’s a bit of a jumble.
We did however love the Japanese restaurant experience. The Italian was very poor.
The pool area is lovely and love the fact that they remove the towels from those hogging sunbeds! There was always somewhere to sleep! And the sunbeds we found very comfy.
The AI drinks are an excellent standard and good as we have had anywhere with quality gins and Rum, wines and fizz. In contrast the entertainment was poor! But the clientele in October was much older so maybe it wasn’t needed.
The rooms were okay, our beds were very comfy and we had a change of sheets mid week.
Fresh towels everyday and the clean was a very good quality. No USB chargers in the room. Showers are over the bath and are a bit dated TBH, but the water was Hot and the smellies are good quality.
The mini bar was stocked on arrival but not refilled. I struggled with a lack of water in the room and also tea bags. 1 a day!! So perhaps pack some. I got water from the bar every night to take back.
The location of the hotel is excellent with the old town to the right and the new marina to the left.
I don’t know if we would stay again, needs some investment and generally a more modern approach! Which is what we perhaps look for in a hotel/holiday.
I think it’s very much for an older generation. Which suits lots of people of course. And for the price we paid we were not disappointed.
No lilos or ball games in the pool??
We were a family of 6 traveling three generations from 19 years to 83 years! However we all agreed with most of these comments.
We have stayed in many different hotels in Lanzarote (10th visit) and sadly this isn’t up to scratch any more! The weather of course is just lovely in October and the sea is beautiful! We relaxed and enjoyed our week and couldn’t really complain.
The bad reviews are harsh, you do get what u pay for! For a winter break it’s very comfy, just don’t expect posh!
We’ve just returned from a lovely stay at the H10 Princess Lanzarote and had a really enjoyable time. The location is fantastic, with everything we needed close by and the hotel itself is in a beautiful setting. Our room was comfortable, clean and well looked after, and the food was really good with plenty of choice throughout our stay. The hotel had a lovely atmosphere and the staff were friendly and helpful.
