HL Paradise Island

Third visit in 18 years and Paradise Island still holds a very special place in our hearts. Our stay of almost two weeks from Monday to Saturday was packed with fantastic family memories. We first came here 18 years ago as a young couple, returned in 2016 with a toddler and a baby on the way, and just finished our third visit with our kids now aged 10 and 12. Watching the resort fit our family so well across all these different life stages has been wonderful, and it remains a place where you can completely unwind and forget about daily stress.

The rooms are clean and functional with comfortable, a comfortable warm shower (or cold if you like) that have plenty of space and reliable hot water. Storage space is generous, the air conditioning works great, and there are plenty of power sockets for all our screens. The wifi is strong and stable throughout the resort. On Fridays when housekeeping has their regular day off, getting extra towels or toilet paper at reception is easy and completely stress-free.

The staff across the hotel are consistently friendly and smiling. The reception team is always happy to help, whether arranging room supplies or calling a cab for a trip into downtown Playa Blanca or the local market. The complimentary shuttle bus service to the beach also works brilliantly.

We really enjoyed the food in the main restaurant, which offers great variety and taste with plenty of fish dishes and desserts, alongside kids favorites like pancakes, pizza, and fries. For lunch, having the choice between the main buffet and the poolside snack corner for burgers, fruit, and fries was ideal. There is also a great selection of soft drinks and juices available throughout the day.

A massive shout-out goes to the animation team, who are one of the main reasons we love coming back. They are energetic, welcoming, friendly and keep everyone smiling. During the day there is an amazing variety of activities, including pool games, aqua gym, aqua dance, zumba, water polo, football, ping pong, archery, stretching, salsa, yoga, and darts. The evening entertainment is just as lively, featuring the mini disco, a white theme party, karaoke, bingo, live singers, cover bands, quizzes, competitions, and a fantastic Greatest Showman performance by the team.

The Dino Park on site offers a great variety of slides, along with a water playground for younger kids, though our pre-teens spent most of their time enjoying the main resort pools.

To share a couple of helpful tips for future guests: the parasols around the pool are fixed in place, so plan your spot accordingly if you want shade. Also, the football field is located inside the Dino Park, which closes at 18:00. Because there is no shade on the pitch during the day, it gets quite hot to play, so keep that in mind if your kids love playing football.

Paradise Island continues to deliver pure holiday joy, fantastic family value, and wonderful nostalgia for us. We highly recommend this hotel to families looking for an unforgettable vacation, and we are already looking forward to our fourth stay!
