holidays July 2021 - 14 days - all inclusive

Review by annajT6864XE

We stayed from July 17 to 29 at the Labranda Alyssa Suite **** hotel for an amount of over € 4,500 all inclusive. I would like to bring to your attention several facts, objects of our dissatisfaction with the services of this hotel, moreover in its entirety rather correct, except: Meals: little variety, no choice, with all leftovers recycled over the next 2 to 3 meals. Very basic foods, frozen foods, bad wines. Very often the desserts were not even thawed during the service...

Even the morning spread was incomprehensible because it was so hard! Apart from fries or burgers and some fruit, no decent snacks for the children's snacks. Or everything was paying ... Too bad for an all inclusive. Chargeable bottles of water, in-room safes and pool towels as well, with deposit and re-billing for each change of towels ... Obviously, you change pool towels several times over a stay of almost 15 days. Room cleaning: neither done nor done! the sheets were never changed over 13 nights ... no floor cleaning. Beach sand remained on the bedroom floors throughout the stay. Glasses and cups neither changed nor even washed. Hand or shower soap was not replaced or recharged during the entire stay. Housekeeping came every 2 days only. No tea and coffee refill in the rooms, although it is forbidden to bring food or drink back there. Loss of the "all inclusive" bracelet charged at 35 €! On the day of departure, at 6:45am, while it was requested and validated by reception, no breakfast was prepared, barely were we allowed to access the coffee machine by the night watchman. We had to insist heavily ... In short, this 4 * hotel is far below the usual standards and really spoiled our stay. Several couples have asked to change hotel during their stay, losing in the process a day of vacation ... The annual vacation budget for French people in 2021 is estimated at € 1,500-1800 for a family of 4. We spent 3X that budget for 3 people, and we are very disappointed with our stay. We definitively do not recommend this hotel

Lovely hotel, can't wait to try again when normality arrives

Review by ShefGRG5 Sheffield, United Kingdom

Flew out of the UK on the monday just before the 2nd lockdown. I was excited to go away but unsure what to expect. The hotel is lovely. You get your own little bungalow which I haven't had before and I would definitely look for in the future...

There was a sun terrace with lounges, table and chairs, a decent size living room with sofa and TV, a nice bathroom and a good size bedroom. I was very happy with the accommodation. Because of the current situation, there was only one bar open so this did lead to waits at some points and it was a little annoying having to go in to the lobby from the pool. Staff were friendly and social distancing, masks etc were always implemented . The food was nice although a little repetitive but with the numbers at the hotel, I am not surprised. I had a lovely holiday, glad I came and would definitely like to see what the hotel is like normally.

Food glorious food definitely not!!

Review by Poppielov

We booked all inclusive. We thought 2 wks chilling and relaxing, eating lovely food, chilling over a glass of gin and tonic. Simple needs, not looking for gourmet food, just quality and tasty dishes...

What we got was nothing like we expected. I am writing this review to others who are considering this hotel or even worse booked it. The manger quotes "We cater for all nationalities and our highly trained chefs like to surprise our guests with high levels of quality" To be fair the chefs surprised us!! We went into the restaurant in the evening 3 times, we could not even put a decent quality plate of food together. Burgers chicken nuggets, pork, fish in a thick sauce, well we think it was fish. The quality is lacking and I am assuming the chefs are working with a limited budget. If you want a snack from the pool bar you have ham and cheese ham toastie, chips, burger or hot dog. If you are a vegetarian then chip's and a cheese toasties. Which after 14 days you never want to see again. The kids to be fair loved it a constant stream kept the bar man busy. We went out to eat in the evening. If you like me enjoy a glass of wine gin and tonic before dinner be prepared to enjoy this is a plastic cup at the pool bar they don't serve in glasses till 8 pm. The little bar at the front opens 9pm and then never seems manned. We brought our own drinks to enjoy on our patio which fortunately had the evening sunshine. I am aware people reading this may think I am a moaning Minnie.. I am just trying to make people aware before they spend there money. We all have had a rough time of it and its very precious getting the holiday we all deserve. I have popped a photo of the sunbeds they are all close together so definitely not covid safe. Your not allowed to move sunbeds. The cleaning is not up to standards, but was easily done with purchase of some antibacterial wipes. Cleaning sunbeds and tables and rooms necessary in my opinion. The wine is just about drinkable with soda and lots of ice. Hubby said the beer fine. If you like a nice wine, you can buy very cheaply here a good Spanish rjoca around 4 pounds in the spar. The pool is nice although cold but nice for a good swim. There is a nice bar 10 mins walk away with nice food. The bus stop 5 mins away every 30 mins. Nice meal for the 2 of us in town with wine around 30 pounds. Many fantastic restaurants, so if you like us and food and drink a important factor of your holiday then do not go on the reviews from last Yr There will be plenty of new reviews to be added this Yr.We have heard many people moaning. Don't just look at the English ones. Happy to answer any queries you may have. This is obviously a honest review and soley on our opinion to what a 4 star hotel should offer. We have stayed at many hotels in playa blanca its our favourite place. 5 star 4 star and self catering 2 star accommodations. This hotel will never be forgotten

Holiday at the start of the second lockdown

Review by DvdM_12 Stevenage, United Kingdom

We managed to get away the day after the second lock down was announced for a week.

From the time we walked into the hotel until the time we left at the end of our holiday the service from the management and the staff we received was excellent. Even though the number of guests in the hotel was small, the food in the restaurant was good considering they had just opened the hotel the day before we arrived (we definitely found something to eat every evening, which isn't always the case in an all-inclusive hotel) and we sadly found out the hotel was to close down again at the end of our holiday.

The hotel is positioned about a 20 minute walk to the nearest small beach and about an hour's walk into Playa Blanca town and marina, although a taxi isn't expensive...

We walked into town along the promenade on the one overcast day that we had, to other day's we were around the pool.

We had an excellent week and met some new friends.

We hope that at the end of the second lockdown in the UK that the hotel can reopen (as when we visited all the guests were from the UK) and it was very sad to see the hotel closing around us whilst waiting for our transport back to the airport.

If you want to stay in a nice clean and friendly hotel in Lanzarote, I would definitely consider the Alyssa Suite Hotel.
