Enjoyable holiday in a comfortable clean suite.

Review by Toldasitis

We booked a last minute trip for some winter sun and our first choice hotel was fully booked however we are now pleased this was the case. End of Oct - begin of Nov 2021 A pleasant ride from the airport and we arrived at Labranda. Clean and welcoming...

Unfortunately there are quite a few steps up to the hotel, there is a road further along that you can walk around to to avoid the steps but all guests chose to navigate the steps. We ended up lifting other guests bags as they were struggling. On entering the foyer area we were greeted by friendly staff and offered a drink. Check in was quick and we were shown on a map how to get to our suite. We were more than happy with what we found. Our own suite / apartment with a private outdoor lounge area. The suite was clean and modern and had everything we could need. The hotel has an assortment of sports facilities, a pool ( we did not use these but other guests were always either sunbathing around the pool or enjoying the facilities when we walked by) The restaurant - we were all inclusive and had more than enough to eat. I do not eat meat, fish or egg so had some interesting concoctions but this is expected when I have such difficult dietary requirements. My partner enjoyed many of the meals but we did feel the need to eat out a couple of times. My biggest criticism would have been my food always seemed cold by the time I got back to the table. (There is a microwave if you like to warm your food this way) The pool bar offers a small selection of food during the day and was great fun in the evening. Firstly entertainment for the children followed by entertainment for the adult audience. The only staff we came across that were not friendly worked in the pool bar (one gentleman) he just did not acknowledge you when serving. No yes, no, thank you in any language Spanish or English was reciprocated. Fortunately everyone else was wonderful so we were able to overlook this gentleman’s rudeness. He just made you feel like you were inconveniencing him by being there. The closest shop was in a hotel to the rear of the hotel about a ten minute walk. Other shops and restaurants are on the sea front about 20minutes away. A good stroll but enjoyable. We flew with jet 2 and the representative was extremely helpful when we wanted support with our locater forms. We both would go back to Labranda Alyssa again and would not hesitate to recommend.

Lovely relaxing holiday

Review by 152philo

Stayed at this hotel in November for one week, accommodation was a clean and bright suite, with a sea view and private terrace which gets the sun all day. Food in the restaurant was excellent with lots of different choices, wine bottles in ice buckets and beer and soft drinks on tap, just help yourself, tables always available inside or out. Plenty of sunbeds around the pools, close to a nice pool bar with ample tables and chairs for a snack or drink...

Special mention to the wonderful staff, who were a credit to the hotel, and a big thank you to Brahim for his genuine help and friendship during our stay. Let's hope we can return some day, Phil&Tina.

Winter sun break with my friend

Review by trehurstdavis Devon, United Kingdom

This holiday was booked through Tui. They have no reps on the island anymore. You have an app...

Luckily I have been to Lanzarote many times and knew where to get on the coach at the airport. The coach pulled up outside our resort, driver shouted the name of the hotel, by the time we stood up the driver was back in his seat, we got off and could see our suitcases abandoned on the pavement. The coach door closed and whoosh ,in a flash was gone. Feeling a bit deflated and abandoned we made our way up the steps. Luckily the reception team were friendly , very welcoming and good at their job, this was the case throughout the holiday. They helped us with questions about buses, the ferry to Fuerteventura ( passport needed for ferry crossings), cabs ,markets and Playa Blanca in general. So our apartment was a short walk away from the main buildings and pool. We had views of the sea and the volcano next to us. It had its own patio with table and chairs and sun loungers . There is a safe in the room 10euro deposit and 2.50 euros a day. Hairdryer, air con , kettle and fridge. Your tea and coffee is not replenished but you just pick these things up from the dinning area. The mattress on the beds are not like the ones you have at home but are ok. The cleaning ladies change bedding and towels every other day and mop. We had a leak in our shower and asked for more mats for the floor, leak was fixed the next day. The food, you will not go hungry. They have themed nights. Chinese and Bbq were lovely. Breakfast , fried omelette and pancakes made in front of you, fried eggs, bacon, sausages ( not English but your on holiday so go with it ) boiled eggs, tomatoes , various breads and rolls, fresh fruit, yogurt and cereals. Lunch , salad bar , hot meats and fish and cold meats, cheese, chips….. Evening ,lasagne , fish, chicken , lamb, pork pasta, salad bar ,Canarian potatoes, chips, pizza bar. Not all at once but you get my drift. Yes the food is cooked on mass and yes you queue but everything I ate I liked. Drinks in the dinning hall , wine, beer water, hot drinks machines and fizzy drinks. The wine wasn’t really my cup of tea so we purchased wine at 16euros . Desserts , the choice was good , there was always ice cream too and fruit. Face masks must be worn whilst you move around the dinning hall.
The pools, yes the pool is not warm, it’s not a bath it’s a pool. Shower before you get in and 1, you’ll be clean and keep the pool clean and 2 it’s not so cold if you get in wet. There is three bars, one is in reception, one down the stairs near the cigarette machine and one big bar near the pools. The bar near the pool does snacks like burgers, hotdogs and chips. Lastly I’d like to say that I holiday three times a year. I usually go all inclusive but I always leave the complex and venture out for drinks and food and to see what’s around me. Try the buses , try the cabs . Bus 1.40 euros cabs no more than 5 euros. Ferry 34 euros return. Now I could have focused on the small things that were not perfect but I was polite to all the lovely hard working staff and in return they were polite and very helpful to me. The Manager bought us a bottle of wine. I’d like to think it was because we were nice guests who treated everyone how we like to be treated. I would recommend this place. For the price it was good. Be prepared to walk and get buses and cabs

Would recommend - Good hotel that exceeded expectations

Review by Bradthomas92

The rooms/suites are fantastic. We were pleasantly surprised at how nice they were. Extremely clean with fresh towels and linen every other day...

The food is fine - not amazing but more good than bad. The "special dinner" on the Tuesday night was the best. The Chinese themed food on the Wednesday was very poor and neither of us ate very much that night. Desserts never really changed and from the pictures on here used to be much better and more varied.

Ultimately, people that come back and write reviews on how terrible the food is are living in a dream world. If you book a hotel such as this, and think you'll be getting a fine dining experience nightly at an all-inclusive that costs a few hundred euros for a week, the problem is your expectations and not the hotel's offering.

The staff are generally very good. Patricia in the restaurant and bars should get a special mention for always being super friendly and never seeming to stop working!

Things to improve:

  • The tables at pool bar need cleaning more as they were always sticky. This is not just required because of COVID but should be standard practice in a 4* hotel.

  • Better communication, especially by the entertainment team. It takes very little effort to have a board in reception that says "tonight's menu is..." and "today's activities are...". For example, there was a foam pool party on the Tuesday where only a single person went in because nobody knew it was happening.

  • Have a more varied music playlist at the pool bar. It drove us a bit mad hearing the same songs at the same time every day for a week.

Lovely holiday

Review by MRORKE Dundee, United Kingdom

After reading a lot of negative reviews I was a bit apprehensive. We had a lovely 10 night stay. Staff very friendly...

Bungalows spacious and clean. Food was much better than expected after reading reviews. A bottle of fizz was put into my bungalow on my birthday which was a lovely surprise. Such a relaxing holiday. El Argentino restaurant which was a ten minute walk was recommended and we loved it. Would definitely return to Alyssa.
