We stayed here in March for 5 nights. The staff is friendly and helpful in reception. Our room was cleaned every day except one maybe on the Sunday and it was to a good standard. We did have mould in out bathroom over the bath and shower which is not good enough. We only have breakfast here and that was enough...
I wouldn't want to have all inclusive here. Get a key fob for the gate as this saves you time walking into town and the beach. Which took us around 15 minutes. This was not a problem for us. The hotel is walking distance to Rubicon Marina which have some lovely restaurants and the local beach is lovely. The hotel had lovely grounds which was all well maintained. We had a good stay and was lucky with the weather but would choose to stay somewhere different next time. Its 3 star hotel and not a 4 star.
I stayed here with my partner in early March for 1 week. Initially, we were very happy with the complex. The staff were nice, it was very clean and our room was lovely...
As time went on, cleanliness went downhill for us. The base of the pools were very dirty. The floor in our room was not being swept properly (although housekeeping staff were always very friendly). People would leave plates of finished food outside their rooms and plates were left there all day and into the next day and when they were finally taken away there were spillages from drinks that were left without being cleaned up. The "clean" trays in the snack bar had dried in ketchup stains on them (this being in the middle of coronavirus made us conscious of things not being cleaned properly). Our bed-sheets weren't changed in the week that we were there as my partner cut himself on the first night and a small bit of blood got onto the top blanket and as much as we cleaned it ourselves when it happened the stain was still there when we left.
We are not fussy eaters but the food was not very nice. A lot of the food for lunch and dinner was luke-warm not hot. We got raw beef one night that was cooked in front of us but burnt on the outside and raw in the middle. Also not a huge selection of food. One night was mainly fish and if you are not a fish lover then you were left with pizza, chips and salads. They did have a Chinese themed night and the food was lovely here but most nights we ended up eating pizza and chips and we got so fed up of it that we ate out for our last 3 nights here even though we were all inclusive. The snack bar is only okay. Hot-dogs, nuggets, chips etc. The chicken wraps were soggy and stuck to the paper they came in.
A big thing for us was the bar. There's only 1 bar, the sports bar, but it doesn't open until 6pm so nowhere except the snack bar to have a drink during the day which is very casual if you want to relax and have a drink without everyone in their swimwear. There is a bar also in the adults only pool but we heard someone say it won't be open until July! We went to the sports bar 1 night and it was very packed. The animation team were there playing Bingo to keep guests entertained as the entertainment dome wasn't open yet being off peak season. For the size of it with the noise and amount of people it just wasn't for us. The beer was also not very nice. We ended up buying beers in the supermarket onsite and having them on the balcony most nights.
Our room was lovely. We were in I133, a premium room I think and it was very spacious and the beds were extremely comfortable.
All in all it has great potential but food and drink are big things for us especially when paying all inclusive so we probably won't be returning.
I visited THB tropical island with my family and enjoyed my stay as a whole. There were a few things that could be improved but that is the same with the majority of hotels.
Accommodation: The room we stayed in was an apartment style with a sofa bed and a separate bedroom and bathroom. We were on the ground floor next to a small hot-tub however you can be accommodated on the first floor or by one of the many pools around the site...
Food: We were self catering so I can not comment that well on the food however we did eat in the restaurant one night and the food was ok. A varied range of food was available in the buffet, including fruit salads and deserts. It was not as good as other hotels I have been to but that wasn’t a problem because of the great choice of restaurants outside of the hotel along the seafront which is only a short walk away (I’ll get more into that later)
Pool: There was so much choice as to what pool you went to as this hotel has a LOT of pools. This was good because you could get an apartment next to a pool and decide to spend the day there or walk to the larger pool. The only negative I would give to this hotel is that the pool was FREEZING in the morning. Up until mid day you couldn’t spend more than 5 mins in the pool without shivering.
Staff: The staff were helpful and cleaners came round regularly, the entertainment team were great and offered a range of activities through the day/week for everyone to enjoy. This included football on the Astro-turf and an inflatable assault course in the pool.
Facilities: There were good facilities scattered around the complex. Examples of these were an Astro turf, spa, gym, adult only pool, table football and pool tables, a huge choice of swimming pools, a shop, a large entertainment centre and a mini zoo with tortoises.
In Conclusion: Overall the hotel was great, the only improvement points would be the cold pool and the food but other than that I believe this is a good choice for a family holiday.
Absolutely awful experience. Cleaners left hairs of other guests all over the bathroom and once prompted they came back to clean and still missed them. Ants nest in our room and were completely disregarded following a complaint being made...
This hotel is not 4 star at all dont be fooled. The staff are rude and clearly dont care about customer welfare in the slightest.
Bits of mould on grout but nothing to worry about resturant plenty of choice and lots of it especially at breakfast only down fall could be alot hotter disappointed with bars only pool bar open during day and sports bar on evenings the dome was closed stayed in alot worse AI in Spain for what we payed £80 a night AI for two of us very good value for money will definitely stay again
