Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We go to Lanzarote once or twice every year but have never stayed in this hotel before. We've had one of the best holidays we've had.
We had a sea-view room, the view is spectacular. Breathtaking view across the bay - lovely to wake up to every morning and to sit on the balcony to watch the sunset each night. The pool is great.
We didn't really make use of the entertainment that much, but what we saw was good.
The restaurant was good. Some people moaned about the lack of choice, and there were some evenings where the main course felt samey - but then there were a range of starters, sides, salads, pasta dishes. There wasn't a night where we didn't enjoy our meal. Some of the seafood salads were excellent. Sure, if you're looking for an a la carte style food this won't necessarily be to your liking (but an a la carte style menu costs a lot more money) . But the food was well cooked and, as buffet restaurants go, it was pretty decent.
We were lucky to get a late checkout, so had our room until 6pm on the last day, which meant we could enjoy the pool and laft our packing to the last minute - we really got every moment from our holiday.
We visited the spa twice - the day after we arrived and about half way through the holiday. Small, but really good. I had hoped for a massage on my last day but I left it too late to book and no slots were available. I'll book ahead next time.
The staff were friendly, helpful and polite.
We are booked to stay again in December (unfortunately, in a pool view room) and again next summer (again in the stunning sea view rooms).
If hot stuffy rooms with poor food is your idea of holiday then this is the hotel for you !!
The aircon in the entire hotel did not work at all during our 7 night stay. We also had to be swooped rooms due a magnitude of issue including mouldy curtains and ants. The new room was much better but the shower head holder was broken.
The pool was the best part of the holiday and the entertainment were excellent and really know how to get people involved with ease. However the pool drain broke when they had the water mat out and my partners foot went through it cutting and bruising her. The lifeguard did not seem to care and neither did the hotel reception team.
Now the food breakfast we could always find something to eat and lunch was okay but a shame it was only served from the snack bar which of course on booking was not what was advertised to us so kind of poor. The dinner time food was very hit and miss and as a result of this we ended up eating out 3 night of 7 !
The drinks aren’t the best all pre mixed and filled with ice in the day time. Much better in the evening. The entertainment at night is in the basement and there is no aircon it was very uncomfortable to sit down there and for the children’s mini disco.
We did use the spa but found some of the buttons used to operate the hot tubs and water features were hard to use and one of the steam rooms was out of action.
Really good hotel BUT there is a few thing wrong with it for a start the aircon in the entire places didn’t work and it was very hot and hard to sleep at night. We did go and tell reception a number of times but they re assured us that it’s because it’s hot (aircon should work in any heat) they reassured us and said that. We have been in 40°+ weather in Thailand and mexico and numerous places and aircon has worked.
Food is fine nothing special I am a picky eater and did go with a vegetarian and they found it good but I didn’t I found it weird and not a normal all inclusive food.
All in all I think the mirador is a decent hotel but does need to fix these very simple problems that they have offered like the aircon as this did ruin our days from sleep deprivation.
Just returned from a wonderful family holiday.
Cleanliness; Room was cleaned often, when we first arrived we all said how clean it smelled and were super impressed. Pool area, cleaned every day. Unfortunately people didn’t use the bins when finished with paper cups the wind then would scatter these around the area. Reception and restaurant exceptionally clean.
Hotel Room; Family room - so big we were so happy. (Room 40) we had sea view from balcony which was beautiful. Fitted a family of 4 easily (15 year old 6ft2 and a 8 year old - two adults) just needed air conditioning to be a suitable temperature.
We loved the little walk way under the road to the restaurant in the main hotel area. Great touch!!!
Food; Great choice, lots of selection even for a fussy 8 year old. Lots of fruit and different food each night. The restaurant was newly refurbished and looked lovely. The outside food bar was great - no complaints at all.
Area; Located on the quieter part, but we absolutely loved it. 10-15 walk down to the beautiful marina for drinks and a couple of nights dining out to escape the all inclusive, worked wonders. Two close by supermarkets were wonderful and stocked everything we needed. Couldn’t believe how cheap products were, a pack of 6 beers 5 euros!!!!
Air con; Sadly this was the only let down of the hotel. Was awful coming in from the hot sun after a days sun bathing and at night was very difficult to sleep. Thankfully I had a hand fan that cooled me down. I have never had to open windows abroad so this was a first: please sort this for your future guests as this is a negative on your beautiful hotel.
Staff; All staff worked so hard, everyone we spoke to was super kind, friendly and very helpful. This really made our stay memorable.
The daily entertainment was wonderful, my little boy loved every activity. Foam party, water slides, bingo, crazy golf he got involved in it all.
Marina Rubicon restaurant and bars; *Mumbai Masala - the best curry we have ever eaten! Absolutely amazing, thoroughly recommended, you’ll need to book in advance as it gets very busy. *Oasis Bar, funky place with live music every night and great choice of cocktails.
We had a wonderful holiday with lots of great memories made. We would return and recommend staying here as long as the air conditioning was corrected.
Location- perfect if you want to be out of the hustle and bustle of the main part of Playa Blanca and about a 45 min walk to the main part which is along a beautiful scenic walk. A beach is a short walk approx 5 mins but has a rocky entrance so not ideal with little ones but nice and peaceful if you want to enjoy the beach. Would recommend the ferry trip to Fuerteventura- we got a taxi to the port then paid for it there. Hotel were great at organising the taxi. There is also a bus stop at the end of the road and you can change at the bus station to go to Puerto Del Carmen which we did also and that was a lovely day out with a big shopping centre and plenty to do for kids with a soft play area and trampolines on the roof top terrace.
Food- all inclusive option is what you would expect- lots of variety and something for everyone and I think it’s important to remember it is always going to be a different standard to a restaurant. My little one loved the robot that comes and clears the plates! A fun feature for food time and made each trip exciting for him! Drinks available all day a good mixture of soft drinks and alcoholic drinks. Only real disappointment was ice lolly availability- there wasn’t any which is a first for an all inclusive for me. There were just these little pots of ice cream available in the freezer which isn’t ideal if your child doesn’t like ice cream. Usually ice lolly’s would be included but it cost 3 euros if you wanted one and they never actually had any in stock when asked. Plates were nearly always filthy and ended up looking for a clean one on most meal times. Maybe invest in a better dishwasher as the glasses were similar.
Pools- they were a bit dirty at times with lots of bits and bobs floating about which was not great. Seemed to get a bit worse towards the end of the week. The smaller pool had tiles cut underneath and I cut a chunk out of my toe which was not great. Needs looking at as I have seen similar comments. My son did hurt himself and they were great in helping. He slipped on the wet floor so no fault of the hotel as it’s a pool area and sometimes can’t be helped. People were reserving pool beds and not using them and the hotel does nothing about it- very frustrating but seems to be a common theme in most hotels. This should be addressed though and towels removed if people are not using them within a reasonable timeframe.
Spa- absolutely gorgeous and a must! Book early to avoid missing out on the treatments as they get booked up quickly.
Staff- brilliant and couldn’t fault them at all. Kind, friendly and approachable.
Rooms- my other family members were in pool view rooms and they were clean and great. So close to the pool so it made it easy to have a base and be able to use the pool. My room was sea view and was a beautiful view however there were ants and the air conditioning didn’t work properly in any of the 3 rooms. The heatwave can’t be blamed. It looks like an outdated system and needs sorting as it’s unbearable in the heat and also having the ants meant I couldn’t keep the door open. I complained to reception and they were brilliant about it and offered to move my room so I can’t complain about that. I used the spray they got me and the did clear up so made the decision not to move as we were close to family and the spray worked. The first day we had no maid visit and my other family did. Reception apologised and made sure we got the daily clean from then as advertised. The safe in the room didn’t work and they offered to send an engineer in the evening but we were out on the evenings and decided not use it in the end.
Kids mini disco and entertainment was fantastic (if you have kids) This would be better outside each night as they did do this on one of the evenings and it was so much better.
All in all the hotel is good probably not 4 star with the rooms, and cleanliness but nether the less we had a lovely week in the sun and the staff do a brilliant job including the reception.
