Blue Sea Club Marthas

We were a party of 7 ladies on a girls trip and were quite apprehensive due to the most recent negative reviews, but we needn't have worried at all!

We arrived around 7pm check in process was quick and efficient, we had lovely rooms next door to one another top floor 6205 + 6204 and other in block 6 on the ground floor. Rooms we absolutely fine. Yes the floors aren't the cleanest and the bathrooms could do with an update but we had absolutely no problems with mould, insects or anything else mentioned in other reviews and the air-con was fine. The balconies on the top floors were huge and the little garden area overlooking one of the pool areas was very nice to sit out in.

Pools are salt water and one a little murky but were a nice temperature and refreshing. The floor areas around the pool could do with a bit of a better clean though.

Food was fine not particularly hot but a good choice and range of options. Drinks weren't great and to our taste but we knew we weren't signing up for premium brands!

Reception staff super helpful arranging us a late check out as our flight wasn't until the evening.

Entertainment was good the guys work super hard from day to night. Cheesy all inclusive stuff but we enjoyed it.

Location fab, just a few mins walk to the beach as well as shops bars and restaurants.

I would say the hotel is definitely more of a 3 star in comparison to other 4 stars I have been to but overall we really enjoyed it for the price we paid and experienced no issues that a lot of the recent reviews comment on.

My daughter booked our break at this hotel for the 3 of us. On checking some of the reviews I was a little apprehensive of our trip!! Thankfully the last couple of reviews posted must have been in a different hotel😁 When we arrived very late “thanks Ryan Air”the receptionist was delightful stating that there was a cold buffet if required we were escorted by a very friendly member of staff who gave us the rundown and highlighted good practices. The hotel room was spacious and was cleaned every day. We did have an issue with the AC but was quickly resolved ( instructions on how to use would have been helpful) The food was a very good buffet with excellent choices every day. Alcohol was also very good. I didn’t really like the plastic glass but can see the practicality of them around the pool area and bar. No mess on the table. The grounds/ pool were cleaned every morning at six even the early towel droppers had to wait. All in all an excellent hotel with really excellent staff and facilities.

As most of the previous reviews say, I was absolutely terrified about coming here because I only checked the reviews after booking and changing hotels wasn't an option due to costs, so I was expecting the worst, but to be fair, it wasn't too bad.

I came here with my partner, initially had a studio booked, but upgraded to an apartment before we arrived. The room was clean, granted it's nothing fancy, but there was nothing to complain about. sheets were clean and comfy, aircon worked a treat. We were self catering, so didn't eat or drink in the hotel so can't comment on this, however the location was amazing for restaurants and bars. There is also a beautiful beach a short walk away.

One thing I would say is there are alot of additional costs. We didn't bring any towels for the pool, as usually my past experience has been in 4 star hotels, you are provided with towels for the pool. I asked at reception, expecting to pay a deposit for towels which is fine, but they then said 20 deposit per towel, plus an extra charge per towel per day we have the towels. There is a corner shop next door that sells beach towels for 4 euro, so we went there.

The air con broke on one of the days but seemed to resolve itself in the night, we also had no hot water for the last 3 days of our stay and had to have cold showers, we couldn't be bothered complaining at that point, but I can imagine for most people this would not be ideal, especially families with kids. The shower water, tap water and pool water is salty too, so I'd advise to bring a good hair mask as otherwise I'm sure my hair would have been crispy by day 6.

All in all I wouldn't return, but I was pleasantly surprised based on the poor reviews I'd read leading up to the trip. Again can't comment on the all inclusive or the entertainment, but the pool entertainment was fun!
