Would have given 2.5 stars if I could…

Review by SamJGee Peak District National Park, United Kingdom

Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights as a last minute break for me and my partner. We booked the all inclusive as the price was no different to self catering / bed and breakfast however we knew we would really only use the hotel for breakfasts and drinks during the afternoon / early evening. When we arrived (around 2.30pm) we were told to go for lunch in the restaurant as it would be finishing soon so we went and had a look… food was very basic and a random mismatch of things but typical of a 3* all inclusive...

Our room situated over the road to the reception block and looking onto to main pool with a balcony. It was clean and spacious but again basic. You can hear absolutely everything the people in surrounding rooms are doing, even to the point of them getting out of bed walking to the bathroom!! The rooms are cleaned and beds made up daily. The pool area is kept clean but there are many broken sun beds and the pool was too cold to go in even though the days were sunny & hot, only a few brave children ventured in the whole time we were there. Also which we found odd the kids weren’t allowed inflatables in the pool even though it was empty. The animation team seem to be working hard however can’t help but feel that they were “checked out” by this point in the season, one evening we sat for a drink and the “entertainment” was a YouTube compilation of funny videos! Can’t complain about the breakfast there was a good selection each day and the food replenished regularly. The hotel is in a brilliant location, 2 min walk to The beach, 5 mins to bars / restaurants and about 10 mins to the marina which is gorgeous especially at night making it a great base for people who want to go and explore Cala D’or. If you were planning an all inclusive holiday and didn’t want to leave the hotel much I would not recommend.

Great hotel!

Review by Cdhs1507

Perfect location. 2 minute walk to the beach, 2 minute walk to the shops and restaurants. Swimming pool is nice and neat...

Rooms are practical. A little bit low on maintenance and not as clean as can be. But everything else is so good at the hotel that this is such a minor issue. Staff is very friendly at the restaurant and at the reception. The staff at the poolbar is a little bit stiff. But overall we had a great experience. Definitely a recommendation. Great hotel for a great price.

Covid Care

Review by sue m Newcastle, United Kingdom

I stayed here from 14th-30th September, my partner not so long. As other people have mentioned the hotel is clean, food choice is really good and the restaurant is extremely well ran, food always replenished, dishes cleared and tables cleaned straight away. Absolutely nothing to complain about. Entertainment team try their very best, however we didn't stay for many of the shows so unfair to comment...

Pool area is really nice and an excellent idea to ban the use of floaters etc in the pool. Adult only pool is small with limited seating and little sun, the 3rd pool was closed. Trying to get a decent sunbed was a bit of a struggle as a lot of them were torn/broken and should really be removed. My biggest gripe would be the electricity supply/WiFi, even using the small kettle provided by the hotel tripped the electric, we ended up with what can only be described as a toy kettle....however it did the job! And forget taking your own hairdryer or music player anything over 1 watt killed the power supply. WiFi was non-existent only working to make and receive messages/calls. HOWEVER........... 2 days before we were due to come home I tested positive for Covid.... This is where the hotel really excelled, we were immediately moved to a bigger apartment so we could isolate as my partner tested negative and needed to go home. The care I received couldn't have been better, every day someone phoned to ask how I was, the restaurant rang twice a day for my food order and some lovely people brought it for me...I loathe unnecessary name dropping but I must say big thanks to Anabel and I think Rebeca(?) who had some kind words and didn't treat me like a leper. The same goes for the reception ladies who were always so helpful and patient with my attempts at Spanish! 10 days of isolation in a foreign country is an absolute nightmare and I'm glad I didn't have to go to the Covid hotel in Palma . I'd like to finish by saying a massive thank-you to all the staff who helped me as I understand I was the first "victim".

Clean but quiet

Review by nealon1987 Coventry, United Kingdom

The hotel is well laid out, spread across two sides of a road. It is modern, spotlessly clean, the grounds are very well maintained and the rooms are big and have everything you need. Food is excellent, drinks are good size and quality, one of the barmen is miserable to the point of being rude, but all of the other staff are polite and pleasant...

The surrounding area goes more towards dining than partying, there are a couple of decent bars but not enough for us. The marina is a short walk and is pretty, but again fairly lifeless. The thing that absolutely kills the hotel is the volume limiter they are forced to use at night. This means that they just can't get a decent atmosphere going. Bless them, they do their best but then it just cuts out, therefore however hard they try, the nights are fairly dull. Such a shame that for me, the hotel is being ruined by something so far out of its own control as they have got so much right, but it just wasn't enough for us.
