Very comfortable week in Majorca

Review by Gordon12l Milton Keynes, United Kingdom

Stayed at the HSM Calas Park in October for a week. My partner and I wanted a week in the sun relaxing before the onset of the British Winter. We chose the Calas Park because of it's location and fantastic views of the sea...

The hotel represented extremely good value for money, we had two bathrooms in our room/suite which was very convenient when getting ready in the evening. The room was well equipped, we didn't opt for a TV remote control......who needs a TV when on holiday! The bed was very comfortable.

There was a really good choice of food which varied from day today, always a fresh fish and meat dish and plenty of vegetarian options and a great selection of salads and pickles. Really don't understand some of the comments regarding not catering for the English, we certainly didn't find this. In fact we both commented on how good the food was.

The pool area was really good, plenty of sunbeds (ok it was October so you expect that) a bar close by with a good range of cocktails, beers and spirits.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble, they always had time to stop and have a chat. All in all, a very comfortable and relaxing week, would certainly stay here again.

Ok 3 star.

Review by Alison_nap

Spent 8 days at Calas Park.

First impressions of hotel was its clean. I Was impressed with the room, it had a double bed and bathroom, then a sofa bed, bathroom and kitchen. We didn’t use the sofa bed as my son had a travel cot but it was a good size room.

The restaurant always had food that was edible but it got very repetitive, but again always something there to eat. Also lots of restaurants nearby if want something different.

The animation team were fantastic with the kids, especially Martina, my son loved her and she was brilliant and patient with him. Bar staff were also good, there’s only 1 bar open at a time though.

There are A LOT of steps, you need to go down or upstairs to get anywhere. It’s ok as long as you don’t have a pram!

Also a downer on the holiday, my son had a life jacket to use in the pool, we used it once, left it out to dry put it back in the room and when we went to use it a couple of days later it was gone....

we told reception and nothing was done or said, in our opinion it could only have been someone who had access to room as it was locked at all time so possibly a cleaner!? However never got it back and never heard anymore from reception so obviously not happy with that especially as it was my sons..

Overall the hotel is ok and clean, not much there but spent most of our days out of hotel, it’s a basic 3 star, steps are a pain, but it’s in a good location to visit shops etc..

Superb aparthotel

Review by littleal51276 London, United Kingdom

Just got back from here. Me and partner. I stayed here about 15 years ago with my father...

Obviously everything refreshed and updated since. May only show as three star. But believe me it is wonderful. Have read other reviews and to some extent agree. I.e long transfer. I hired car 50 minutes from airport. Lots of stairs. But excellent views. Food a little repetitive. But always something to eat. And lots of local sensible prices restaurants. Rooms are very well laid out. Clean and inviting. 10 euro deposit for tv remote. Limited English channels but like most people I load shows and films onto usb stick. Which with modern tv in room plugs into back side if tv and plays fault less. Mkv mp4 etc. Entertainment for both adults and children exceptional. Location beautiful and staff are incredible. I work in tourism in london. (Open top tour bus driver 16 years) the staff here from cleaning to maintenance reception bar everyone. Are first class. Me and my partner truly thank you for a trouble free blissful holiday. We will be back. My advice. Dont think. Book it.

Wonderful hotel

Review by TMC_9_86 Leeds, United Kingdom

If you’re looking for great entertainment for children, excellent customer service and a clean modern hotel then this is the one to choose. All the staff were so polite and friendly and the entertainment staff work tirelessly to provide fun for both children and adults. The rooms are modern, spacious and very comfortable...

The food is very good with lots of choice and variety. There are high chairs and plastic crockery and cutlery. There is a nice little play park on site and our daughter liked the little ponds with turtles in. These are ever so slightly on the dangerous side though. The beach and the little town centre are both in very short walking distance and you can view the sea for miles from the comfort of the poolside. The only drawbacks were perhaps the many stairs from the reception to the pool and the fact there is no changing table in the male toilets by the pool which is a little bit unequal. The other issue is the overuse of non-recyclable plastic which I found a little troubling. One suggestion would be to provide a keep cup for each guest instead of a wrist band to identify all-inclusiveness that can be used for hot and cold drinks-that would kill 2 birds with one stone.

Nice break away..

Review by 805jayneb

Just arrived back from a 5 night stay beginning of October. Hotel is basic, made up of buildings containing apartment like rooms. Everywhere in the hotel is clean and spotless...

Our room was modern and spacious, the bathroom was big and ours was adapted for wheelchair access I guess so great if your in need of that. Air conditioning was brilliant probably the best I’ve ever had, at one point I had to turn it off as it was too cold!! Tv in room without remote we didn’t bother asking for one but it would have been nice to have one there already. Kitchen area would have been great but there wasn’t one piece of crockery, again we didn’t ask at reception for anything. What’s the point in having a kitchen area that you can’t use. No phone to ring reception which normally there is. We were in the main building room number 518 and the view was lovely! We didn’t get direct sea view from our room balcony but did partially. The pool area was nice, plenty sunbeds to go round at any time of the day. I didn’t brave the pool as the water was freezing but it was shallow in most parts. The pool bar was well stocked all day, alcohol, help yourself to soft drinks, slushes, icecream, coffee all day long. Again the view from the poolside was amazing!! The dining area was ok, plenty of tables, quite a few food choices, and I ate some tasty food. Sometimes I’d have liked things to be labeled as I couldn’t guess what the dish was. Food wasn’t amazing but we never went hungry. The entertainment was ok I’ve seen worse, daytime consisted of water volleyball, aqua gym, pool, pistol shooting etc etc night time was disco, karaoke, reptile show, magic show etc etc wasn’t bad at all! The staff here work really hard from early morning till late at night they are polite and helpful. There are quite a few pubs and shops nearby, most open till 3am all are very English orientated. Just a word of warning we arnt one to moan as it didn’t bother us too much but the music is soooo loud in the surrounding pubs till 3am+ you can hear it as plain as day in your room. We went on the moonfish boat for 25€ pp it was a nice day out. All in a a great few days.
