Should not be allowed to sell all inclusive holidays that are NOT ALL INCLUSIVE Having to carry money or charge to the room , which often they got wrong, was a nightmare Not the all inclusive package we were sold Also the staff in particular the lady in charge of the restaurant actually came up to whilst eating with my friends and accused me of taking more than 3 drinks She was rude and raised her voice Appalling behaviour I was very upset to be shouted at in front of so many guests I’d had 1 and half glasses of wine !! Will not be returning Loved this hotel last year but the new rules are ridiculous Food not as good either
Dear Bahia Principe,
After two month trying to get an response from both the hotel, website and management, I am ready to post a review of our poor experience at the Sunlight Coral Playa.
In Regards to the free transfer service we were supposed to be picked up in the Palma de Mallorca airport july the 25th and be transported to our hotel through the Bahia Principe Loyalty Free transfer program.
Unfortunately there was no driver waiting for us in the airport. So after 15 minutes of looking for the driver both inside and outside, we called the telephone number in the transfer confirmation email. But nobody answered! So we called the Hotel reception and the receptionist told us to look for the “transunion“ servicedesk inside the airport, which we tried...
But they did not know anything about our transfer. So we went through the airport for the second time looking for our pick up. And again we tried to look outside for the second and third time without any luck. We tried to call the service number again without any answer. And then we called the hotel reception, who advised us to take a taxi to the hotel and pay for it ourselves and then we could get our money back once at the hotel!
When we arrived at the hotel we could not get a refund from the staff in the reception, when we showed the receipt from the taxi. We were told to contact the “coming2” servicedesk at the hotel the next day at 10:00. Because apparently they are the ones handling the transfers.
The next morning when we asked the staff at the coming2 servicedesk - they could not help us with a refund and told us to come back the next day at 10:00 - Again! When we came back the next day they told us to contact the Bahia Principe service.
We waited 45 minutes for a “no-show” transfer taxi at the airport. Nobody called us and nobody could help us at the moment when we were supposed to get “maximum comfort”! We expected much more than a total lack of service in Regards to the “maximum comfort” described in the transfer confirmation email.
For two days we had to plan to come to a “servicedesk” at the hotel to wait for 1 hour to get absolutely nowhere and no refund. On our holiday!!!
Now the least they could do is to transfer the amount of 44,00 € euro as promised! But for almost 2 months I have been writing numerous emails to both the hotel and the management - but without any reply.
We have been enjoying traveling to Bahia Principe since 2014 and have another booking already for the Bahia Principe which we still are looking forward to! But this experience has made us doubt the brand.
Receptionist did not know anything about how the bus system worked.
Aircondition was horrible and not able to cool sufficient during night time which made it impossible to have a prober sleep.
A turist tax was claimed at arrival at app.45euro for 3 persons which was not informed beforehand!
To start, the hotel is beautiful. Wonderful views, very clean, reception immaculate, rooms modern and the ocean views are well worth the extra.
The food was outstanding, lots of variety and extremely hygienic, for Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner, not one bad meal and we were there for 7 days.
The downsides are the beds are not very comfortable, and you can hear the beds in every room along the corridor scraping against the floor and it is very loud. The entertainment needs looking at, they had singers on 3 of the 7 nights we were there, but could do with some variety, the blonde lady singer was by far the best...
Maybe some variety, magician, a game show, just some other things I have seen at other establishments.
Other than these downsides, the hotel is wonderful, its truly beautiful and in a great location, would definitely return and if the beds were improved would be happy to pay more. If staying in Mallorca with family, would definitely recommend,
I understand the new rules regarding "all inclusive" which is a little frustrating, but they only charge 1.40 euro for a beer, if all inclusive and it does seem to be an island law not a hotel one.
Don't let this put you off as it makes up for it in other areas and Psssst they aren't strict with your drink consumption at dinner shhhhhhh ;)
Will return - just please improve the beds!
Sold an all inclusive holiday which is outrageous as they can only serve alcoholic drinks in restaurant on all inclusive basis, had to pay for alcoholic drinks in all bars. Evening entertainment advertised but non existent. Food average and repetitive. This is not up to the usual Bahia standards
Nice hotel, clean and well presented. Good central location. Good quality restaurant...
Beware though that all-inclusive doesn’t really mean all inclusive. The hotel will claim they explain this in the small print, but if you book on the basis of all inclusive that is what you are entitled to expect rather than drinks being reduced by 50%. Also free Wi-fi should mean free Wi-fi and not just free for the first 15 minutes. Slightly misleading offering. In UK would be in breach of trades descriptions act.
