Great location, food and staff.

Review by Experience602805 Derby, United Kingdom

Check in was not until 15:00 however I could leave the cases at reception and was given a welcome drink from the bar. Given 2 key cards when checked in. Tourist tax was just under €80 payable when checking in.

Room although not overly large was adequate...

Air conditioning very quiet and efficient and did not have to to use a key card when not in the room to keep the electric on. Unusual layout with toilet and shower separated from the main room by a breakfast type bar with a sink in. Due to the glass doors facing the room, if using the toilet at night, the light disturbed my partner in bed. Coffee machine, kettle and teabags provided. Only 2 coffee creamers, however nearby supermarket sells milk if you want more than 1 cuppa a day. Small fridge, hairdryer and bath robes provided.

Hotel is located very close to Magaluf strip, but Calvia is far quieter, with a range of restaurants and small supermarkets. The hotel is non smoking except on room balconies, although this did not seem to apply to guests vaping in public outside areas.

The quickest way to the beach is via the side gate located near the pool showers and Bali beds. Although Sun beds are limited around the pool area they were still some available by mid morning. Due to the hotels position these were often in the shade though. It costs €13.50 for 2 Sun-beds and a parasol on the beach.

All staff were very friendly and professional, a special mention to Pedro in the restaurant who made us feel very welcome and his wine recommendations were appreciated. It is rare for me to stay in the same hotel on more than 1 occasion however I would definitely consider stopping at the Fergus Tobago again.

The food was of high quality and a good choice, especially at breakfast, although the hotel would benefit from an additional toast machine to limit queues when busy. To vary the choice in an evening the hotel had theme night menus ie Majorcan and Seafood nights.

Entertainment was limited to 2 nights a week and of various calibre. Ranging from a trio from South Africa, who were very good and were non stop singing, dancing and getting the hotel guests to join in, to a dire couple of female singers.

Fergus Style Tabogo Palma Nova

First holiday in ten years and it didn't dissapoint. Hotel is beautiful and very clean. Room was exactly what we wanted and beds very comfortable - slept 8 hrs for the first time in a long time. I have Coeliac Disease and was really worried about eating away from home - I shouldn't have been, the staff went above and beyond to keep me safe. Would like to give a special thank you to Carmen, Mamadou and Antonio - because of how you looked after me we will definitely be back and are recommending this hotel to family and friends.

Nice hotel in a good location

Just returned after 10 nights, the staff are a credit to the hotel. We stayed half board and only ate out once as the food was excellent. We hired a bed on the roof top which was very comfortable as we found the sunbeds around the pool very uncomfortable with no mattress provided...

So most days was spent at the beach just across the road.

We watched the entertainment on one night, but for some reason we never saw it advertised, so we was never sure if there was entertainment on or not ?

We enjoyed the views from the rooftop bar and watched the sunset in the evenings, Juan worked very hard working on his own and needed help most nights when it was busy.

Only criticism is sunbeds, there are not enough and are uncomfortable, other than that it is a well run and clean hotel.

Lovely, clean, great location, food amazing, classy.

Hotel is exceptionally clean inside and out. It smells clean inside too. Modern and fresh looking...

The staff are really friendly and willing to help with a smile. The lifeguard has a job to remove towels of people who have put their towel down and left for the morning. He only seems to enforce this is someone comes and is looking for a sunbed. No inflatables allowed in the pool which wasn't a problem as the sea is 10 steps away with direct access down some stairs via the pool. Lifeguard had to tell me once I was bobbing up and down but did wait about 30 minutes before doing so. So he let me have my fun. He was so friendly and apologetic though. We stayed B+B and the breakfast was 5 star . Everything was clean, high quality and something for everyone. They had diffetent proseccos as you walked in and could grab a glass and various detox drinks all set out. Full English, omelette, pastries, breads, salmon, porridge, meat, cheese selection, cereal, fruit, yogurts, grains, seeds, pancakes . Rooms were modern, clean and fresh, the toilet and shower are within the room with a large sink unit separating it and the toilet and shower only having privacy with a frosted glass door which opened and closed. No lock. As a couple this was fine but would have preferred a partition wall when using the toilet. The pool is not very big for the size of the hotel and there is not enough space for the sunbeds so they seem to be pushed close together. They can be moved but people don't seem to do it. There are cushions laid about that you can use and all the furniture is lovely. You can book a bali bed for 40 euros. Or more if you want 3 drinks each included and some pringles. The drinks are only soft drinks or beers. Not cocktails or spirits so not really worth it. There is a shop just outside to buy water and snacks from but the snack bar food is lovely. Location is amazing. It is right next to magaluf but would never know as you walk 1 way to palma nova and another to magaluf. Probably 50m in both directions but the 2 places do not seem to merge. Its good if you are taking older teenagers. Just outside there is a bar restaurant which has gorgeous sea views and tonnes of beach front restaurants which all sell high quality food.Recommend Siso which is amazing and like fine dining. We had surf and turf which cost 39 euros each. Drinks are not cheap here. Cocktails are around 10 euros each but beer is about 5 euros which isn't bad. Lots to do. Can hire paddle boards with a moter which is nice, jetski, boat, pedalo. Everything is on your doorstop. It was our anniversary so we booked a posh restaurant just outside palma called il parridiso ( I think. Not sure of the spelling ) definitely worth a visit and cost 18 euros in a taxi. It was the most beautiful place ! On the balcony with the best sea views watching to sunset. Beach is amazing and a stone throw away I would definitely come again to this hotel and location. Its classy and beautiful.

Beautiful place, take me back!

Review by yummy-mummy1827 North Yorkshire

I’m writing a review on the Fergus Style Tobago, Palma Nova. After a short delay of 20 minutes at Newcastle Airport, we made up the time in air, going through Palma airport was a long walk to customs but there were no issues once there. Covid passports were checked, passports scanned and stamped...

Coach journey was around 40 minutes. On arrival we were greeted by Veronika in reception, so helpful and polite, then we got our arrival free drink and waited around 15 minutes for the room to be made ready. The bellboy took our cases up for us, again very helpful and polite, and all the staff are smartly dressed to match. Our room, 1617, was very clean, yes they are small but let’s face it, you’re only in there to sleep lol. We had a double room with a sea view, the beds are two singles pushed together. I personally found the mattress too firm, but my partner said his was very comfy. There is a bottle of water by the kettle. One thing that would make it better would be to have a fresh bottle of water left daily, that would be a nice touch. There are some nice touches in the rooms, hand soap and hand cream by the sink, tea tree shampoo and conditioner in the shower, the hairdryer was under the sink counter, I had taken my own anyway. There are tea and coffee making facilities, a small fridge and the safe, all free to use. The air con was a god send, very quiet too. Now, on to the all important toilet questions! As you can see from the photos, the room is open plan, there are obviously glass doors on the shower and toilet, they give limited privacy (you can hear everything 😂), so if you’re not comfortable with your partner listening to your toilet habits then this probably isn’t the right hotel for you. I made my other half go sit on the balcony 😂 Rooms were made up every day, clean towels also daily. There is a balcony with a table and two chairs and a small airer. There is a set of two drawers, which I only found on the Wednesday lol. They are opposite the shower by the toilet door. We only had breakfast at the hotel, it did not disappoint! We ate out at various places during the week we stayed, then came back to the hotel where I sampled quite a few delicious cocktails every night 🍹🍸🥂Bar staff were polite and attentive, all very smartly dressed in matching uniform. Pool towels are provided free daily. Just ask the lifeguard, he will take your room number, then return the towels at the end of the day and get fresh ones in the morning. We used them on the sun beds on the beach every day, costs 13.50€ to have two beds and a parasol. The hotels pool is shaded until after lunchtime and the beds are usually all taken before 9.30am 🙄 The Skybar area is very nice, however, we found the heat too oppressive up there during the day, but it was lovely to sit there in the evenings 🙂 All in all we would definitely stay here again 💜
