We don't normally travel 3 star so I wasn't expecting much from our short break but for £250 for the two of us for 4 nights it was good value for money. First impressions were good with speedy check in from the very cheerful and helpful receptionist.
Room was very dated but very clean and very spacious. Bathroom had been recently renovated to a good standard. The beds were comfy and we were in a very quiet area of the grounds...
The rooms are well spaced out from each other but there are a lot of steps around the grounds. No kettle in room
FOOD Not a lot of choice but what there was was very nice and was always well cooked. Breakfast....first morning there was bacon, next morning was warmed up square sliced ham, next morning bacon...next warm ham. Sausage on one morning only. But the oddest thing was onion rings for breakfast.......really?? Always fresh juice on a morning and lots of filter coffee.
Again well cooked and tasty.
My only gripe was that there sometimes wasn't enough of an item to last the serving duration. One night there was steak being cooked as I went in half hour after service opened. I though great, but by the time I got there it had run out. This was half hour into a 2 and half hour service.
Typical AI food in that they try to use what you didn't eat the meal before, the oddest thing being Stroganoff with whole pickled gherkins.
BAR The service at the bar is great. Chencho likes to entertain. However the drinks are terrible. The cocktails are from a bottle. Pina Colada needed extra coconut rum adding to it. Don't even go near the Mojito, it tasted more like toothpaste water. The Pepsi didn't taste like Pepsi and the beer wasn't good either. I stuck to spirits with 7up. The coffee machine is surprisingly good.
Overall a decent stay for the money however, failure by the hotel reception to notify us of a pickup change almost led us to miss our flight. Quite poor from them.
Here now. 3 lads, 3 separate rooms. £35 a night all inclusive...
Don't listen to the moaners. The food & drink are better than fine & all staff are cheerful & friendly. if you moan then you must be paying top dollar & are unable to find the cheapest price. More fool you 🤣
Worst holiday from hell ever. We're do I start . Terrible food unclean cutlery the cockroaches fighting wasps on the doorstep, the female manager that lies thru her teeth...
The aircon which they switch off to save moneybin mosquito season meqningnyounhave to leave the doors open on the night. The staff that steal ciggerettes. The poor quality drinks. The 30 car parking spaces for 600 rooms. The free WiFi that lasts 9ne day then you needbtonpay 15 euros. The second key for a room will cost you 20 euros the in room safe will cost you 30 euros. The lack of lifeguards at pool. The run down rooms. There is very little good about this hotel I have stayed in 2 stars with better facilities this hotel is basically scam from start to finish my advice run away and stay anywhere but here.
We arrived at the hotel and check in was quick, we went straight to our room, which was technically underground. We were greeted with a bad damp smell, no balcony and air conditioning not working. I panicked and checked my booking, which clearly stated “suite with air con and balcony”...
I went straight back to reception to enquire about this. The lady Vanessa who was the manager advised me there was no rooms with a balcony until tomorrow. In which I agreed to come back to her tomorrow. The pool area was basic and we went to the beach everyday, a long with eating out every lunch, food was also basic but there was not enough seats as for guests, one young waiter Jamie had a quite stern word with us about eating by the pool bar area, but there were no seats in the restaurant and we were surrounded by people doing the same. We came back to reception the next day to Vanessa again telling us no rooms with balcony available. And we could again come back tomorrow and she can now offer us some sort of compensation. We followed this up the next day for her not to be in and her colleague have no idea of our situation and he advised he would have to speak with her tomorrow to make any action. The day in which we were leaving! She was trying to keep us happy but I didn’t appreciate being lied to, when I’d clearly booked a room with a balcony. The area and views are beautiful and my trip was lovely, but that is purely because of the weather, beach and company. I will not return to this hotel.
The hotel is lovely and the views of Santa Ponsa town & beach are amazing! If you’re getting a transfer from the airport it is cheaper to book a taxi from this number
+34 971 134 700 costs €40 to Santa Ponsa.
Our room was an apartment for 4 people 2 single beds which were very comfortable and 2 sofas for the kids in the living room area sofa beds were rock hard very uncomfortable and on a slant felt like you was falling off. Also there’s no kettle, toaster, cutlery anything in the kitchen in You have to get everything from the restaurant/bar.
Entertainment wasn’t great it was catered towards younger children, mini disco every night at 8:30 same songs every night in English, German & french and is over by 9pm...
Afterwards the animation team would do either kareoke or a quiz but some nights had live music on the terrace and there was never enough tables on the terrace for the amount of guests in the hotel. Kids club is on Monday to Saturday 11am till 12:30pm and again at 15:00 to 16:30pm.
Customer service was poor from certain staff we had an issue one night where one of the single beds collapsed whilst my husband was sleeping it was around midnight the middle slats were completely broken and he managed hit his head on the headboard. We called reception straight away and told the receptionist what had happened I believe his name was Philip. He told us there was nothing he could do until the following day, they have no maintenance on site and no managers. I couldn’t believe what he was saying so I passed the call onto my husband who wouldn’t accept that he didn’t have a bed for the night in a Hotel that we’ve paid £1000s of pounds to stay in. The receptionist came down to our banging on the apartment door, he reiterated that we wasn’t getting a bed to sleep tonight and didn’t like us not accepting that! He told us he would be calling the police actually and was ending our vacation the next day! He said he would bring the manager although he said earlier on the phone there wasn’t one there. 45mins later my husband had to go to reception to find out what was happening. Again Philip said “nothing is happening tonight you will not have a bed and that it was too late to call the police so he will do it in the morning! He had to Sleep on the floor in the end what a joke!We did get replacement beds the next day after I had to phone reception again to ask! Totally ruined our holiday, we didn’t want to be there after the threats of ending our vacation and calling the police!! Would also like to point out that Philip didn’t have his covid face mask on (which is mandatory in Mallorca).
Another bug bearer for me was that they had big bottles of water behind the bar but they were charging €1 a bottle even for all inclusive guests!
Food was nice enough and plenty of alcohol and soft drinks to have. Cocktails were shocking there were all pre-made bottles charging €5 each of you were self catering. Avoid Mojito’s and Daquiris if you don’t like mouthwash haha!
Toilet incident - I reported that one of the ladies toilets wasn’t flushing so they may want to fix it or put an out of order sign on it and we got the same answer as our broken bed from a different receptionist this time, he shrugged his shoulders and said well nothing I can do about it until tomorrow, so I said he could possibly put an out of order sign on it, he shrugged again and walked away! It’s just crap customer service!
I would not go back to this hotel the staff and the lack faculties really let it down. No shops close by for snacks, newspapers etc. Everything is in town which is down a load of steps so carrying everything back would be a struggle.
Other staff - the restaurant manager was lovely very friendly and always polite and took time to speak to us. The barman Chencho is also a lovely friendly guy and served my daughter umpteen slushies!
