Perfect!

Review by 123louiep Glasgow, United Kingdom

We travelled as a family of 5 to a two bed suite with private pool and terrace area. First impressions were great, seeing all the pools at night as we pulled up and spotless, airy building - just what we wanted to see. And the rest of our stay was just as good...

We’ve stayed in a Villa nearby before, really like the area as it’s full of beautiful properties and super clean. However, after staying at Baobab Suites we would return here again rather than a Villa as it’s great having full kitchen, washing machine, pool etc but also being within the hotel with room service, restaurants, bar etc. With moving the loungers a little we had the sun on the terrace all day. The pool is refreshing, not that the kids seemed to mind at all - we didn’t use the main pool although looked on to it, no one ever seemed to hesitate going in so assuming it was heated well.

Just like the other reviews mention, the breakfast boxes are amazing, dare I say almost too much food. It might be nice to be able to deselect some items from the individual boxes as I did feel we were wasteful at points. We did have some as lunch a few days.

Staff are so pleasant, particularly the lady that delivered breakfast and in BB’s bar!

The beach club was far better than expected. Nice food, great space for kids and we managed paddle tennis.

We liked the walk to the shops, restaurants etc but it’s downhill on the way out and uphill on the return. I don’t think the walk is suitable for everyone but taxis come quickly to the hotel and lots to stop on the journey back if needed.

Wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Worth going again and again!

We have been to Tenerife a few times and can throughly recommend the Baobab Suites. From the moment you arrive the service from the friendly staff is impeccable. Everywhere is clean and constantly well looked after...

Nothing was too much trouble and travelling as a family, we were made up feel very welcome. The suite we stayed is was beyond our expectations, the views were amazing for coffee on a morning and the morning breakfast boxes are a genius idea, I wish other hotels would offer something similar especially when you have young children. We stayed in one of the suites with a hot tub whirlpool on the terrace and I would definitely opt for the same again, we had the benefit of being high up for the views and not worried about people overlooking us, as well as a huge terrace and the use of the hot tub on warm and cooler days.

The suite was so well kitted out so if you want to opt for a genuine self catering holiday you can without worrying about having a can opener or the right cutlery! Everything has been well thought out including the recycling (they are well ahead of the UK with this!).

The only downside at all when compared to other hotels is that if you have children aged say 7-12 there is probably less for them to do here compared to other hotels. For younger children the saplings kids club is great but I would say it’s aimed at those around 2-6. For older children I imagine they will be happy chilling by the pools.

The vibe at the BB lounge and Fuel restaurant were great and the food was fabulous - tasty, fresh, good selection and well priced!

We will certainly visit here again if we return to Tenerife!

Wow!!! Great trip.

I rarely comment on social media but feel that Baobab deserves the effort of doing so! We stayed in a suite with a pool.. it suited us as a family perfectly... all the benefits of self catering but none of the downsides...

The restaurants are great and the breakfast option really flexible. Nothing is too much trouble for reception. The cocktails in the lovely bar are second to none. The service everywhere is great and always attentive smiling welcoming staff. Special mention for the catamaran trip... really recommend it... it truly was a special experience seeing whales so close up. No matter how much I enjoy a holiday I always think to try somewhere different ... this is the first time I really feel I want to return to the same place. Thank you Baobab!

Week away to relax

Review by Kelstongh Weymouth, United Kingdom

We booked for a relaxing week away as a family, we have older children (16 years plus). The hotel, is clean and looks attractive, all the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The apartments are large, clean and well catered for...

The location is at the top of a hill so great views over the coast. Easy walk down to Playa del Duque, which leads on to the promenade, where you can walk the whole coastline. Great restaurants, Torre del Mirador is perfect for a sunset dinner. La Calata is beautiful and amazing for eateries, Salitre and Mirlo were lovely, again perfect for sunset dinning. Puerto Colon, definately recommend El Horno de Neptuno. Really recommend booking before you travel to get a table at the best places. Taxis from the hotel are a little hit and miss, you can sometimes wait 20 minutes so be prepared. The breakfast boxes delivered to your room are huge and enough for lunch aswell as breakfast. Breakfast in BB lounge was our favourite and felt less waste going there, great views, you can really choose what you want and make changes to the menu. The Fuel breakfast was also very good, lots of fresh juice and pastries at both.

However, although we knew this was a family friendly hotel, the luxury element was some what spoilt by the large number of very young children, to be allowed to run around the breakfast, bar and pool areas, large inflatables to battle in the pool with. I get this is modern parenting and not the fault of the hotel as such but it did detract from a luxury, relaxing time. It is such a shame, as the hotel is large enough to have adult or over 16 years area only, especially in the cocktail bar and one of the swimming pools.
