We love Baobab Suites! This has been our second stay here, which I think speaks for itself. The staff are all amazing, so friendly and helpful. The views are incredible and the apartment was clean and beautiful.
We used their Fuel Restaurant for breakfast on two occasions and the food provided here was 10x better than at our previous stay which was a buffet...
We loved the option of having a proper cooked breakfast rather that buffet food. It suited my other half who loves a full English and myself who had smoked salmon and avocado on toast. We also used the BB bar for lunch which again was just amazing, far better than any local restaurant on food quality.
We booked a villa, which is a one bedroom suite which suites us as a couple. We shared a pool with 2 other apartments and were lucky enough to only have to share the pool for 2 days out of our 10 day stay as the other two were vacant, this was a major bonus and added to the pleasure of our stay.
It is worth being aware that this hotel is up quite a steep hill if you want to head to the beach/shops/local restaurants.. but for us this wasn't a problem and being up a hill adds to the amazing views across Tenerife!
I would lastly love to mention the incredible lady who has cleaned our room for 10 days. She was so lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Unlike some other reviews we had no issues with the daily cleaning - she gave us clean towels most days, did our washing up, made the beds and cleaned the floors, definitely a 5* service. I didnt get her name but please Baobab, if you read this please pass on my thanks (we are staying in VI002).
Thank you Baobab for another wonderful stay. We hope to be back very soon!

We are returning guests to baobab and unfortunately it didn't quite live up to expectations the second time around. This is a very honest appraisal and I hope that the management team take the comments into consideration, something that wasn't done when we were there.
We stayed in a room with a pool, with a family of 2 children, one baby and two adults...
The rooms are very well equipped I must say, though you do feel like you end up doing the cleaners jobs. I wasn't expecting to have to wash up, clean down surfaces, hoover (although this broke and wasn't replaced) and unload a dishwasher on holiday... It kinda spoils the experience, certainly not a 5 star experience - which is what you are paying for. Furthermore they only replenished dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid on request which felt very DIY.
The room was tired, furniture marked and tatty with seating that has been there probably since it opened was also very tired and stained. The wardrobe drawers did not work and there are no English TV channels Beyonce BBC and ITV. There was no duvet covers or proper bedding, just a sheet and pillows without pillow cases.
We unfortunately had a good few cockroaches which they did put some product down for but it didn't deter them, I suspect this has been an issue for a while.
The staff were hit and miss some were great and some not so much, it really depended on who you got and who could be bothered. The lady that runs the breakfast is rude and unhelpful. Don't go to the BB restaurant for breakfast go to the Fuel restaurant, they are pleasant at least.
We ordered room service a few times, it was terrible, cold, overpriced and to add insult you're forced to tip 7% for the last meal we had I refused to pay.
They again were not helpful upon checkout, I removed our own bags without aid and my room was locked half way through moving our bags. I had to get a cleaner to let me back in. We were offered a room to 'shower' in as our flight was quite late in the day and we had been told to checkout by 12, despite late checkout being advertised and requested, this was really confusing and added to a stressful last day.
The breakfast has clearly had to adapt due to covid, and whilst it is ok the process of booking breakfast the day before everyday or requesting breakfast boxes which again are very DIY is tedious. I asked of we could simply have a table every day at 9 and were told to book the day before every day, this was quite needles and frustrating.
The cleaning, although regular was a really poor standard a mop was pushed around the room and, beds made and our damp towels hung or rolled up, never replenished. Again something you wouldn't expect at a 5 star resort.
This place has a fantastic layout and the rooms flow really well, but I feel it needs a big refresh to be what it once was.
My family stayed at this hotel in August 2021 the hotel was modern minimalist comfortable and extremely clean. The views from the room were stunning overlooking the pool mountains and see.
The staff at the hotel were amazing especially Juan jo, Sophie and Edith on reception and the two young ladies who provided us with breakfast in the main hotel dining area each morning.
room service was also excellent when needed...
The hotel is located just 10 to 15 minutes walk from the main beaches, restaurants and shops and taxis are very cheap. The closer you get to Las Americas the more downmarket the bars and restaurants become if you’re looking for excellent food take a coastal walk (40 minutes) or get a taxi to La Coleta.
The only negative to the whole holiday was that some British guests at the hotel played their stereos quite loudly by the pool which was inconsiderate of them. The hotel should look in to this.
Other than that highly recommended.
We are returning guests here & have been since the suites opened staying many times & booking extra apartments for family. I booked a two bedroom for three weeks which had a pool for 2020, but had to cancel due to COVID, so I rebooked the same room for this year for two weeks then told I may have to have another too next door, this was quite a lot more expensive for two weeks than three, no discounts for returning guests there. After continuous phone calls from me I was told yes you can have the one you wanted. When we arrived we never got that one but next door...
My wife said I can’t stay in here, it was dark, if you went out to the pool there was no privacy & the seating was threadbare. We were told there was nowhere else for at least a week so I reassured my wife we would move then & just get on with it. During our first six days there were three different gusts in the one next door which was quite insulting to us, we demanded a move then we’re given 4 options, two of which were worse then one without a pool then the penthouse at £2,000 extra for the six remaining nights which in the end we took because we felt the first week was not good. The penthouse didn’t feel special, air conditioning very poor, doors didn’t close or lock properly, overall not a great experience & certainly not worth the money. Baobab suites is over rated & over expensive, hardly any privacy, no personal touch or aftercare from management. I say that, on our first morning my wife opened the roof blind over the hideous glass box of a dining area they have in some rooms, a rock fell & hit my shoulder, we both went to reception to report this, no one got in touch, asked if I was ok, nothing, I took a picture of the rock & the damaged floor, I was asked do I need to see a doctor or go to the hospital?, quite sarcastic. Last day of check out, we had to get out at 12.30, knocking at the door & phoning us at 11.40! We were offered a room to change & shower. This was the icing on the cake, no ventilation, air con or toilet, this wax in a corridor, we both came out of there in a worse state then when we entered, I told the manager I wasn’t happy & a grin appeared, in fact his assistant laughed, I asked if this was funny & all went quiet. I got a questionnaire from them a few days ago which I filled in with similar comments, so far they haven’t replied. Breakfast some say is fantastic on here, I found it repetitive & simple, nothing special. Sorry for the long essay but really I would think twice about this place, needs a good shake up. Would we go back, no way
I’ve got mixed opinions about the Baobab Suites, it’s advertised as 5 stars, but it most certainly isn’t. The rooms are bright and large for a family of four, but many aspects are tired and need a refresh. The internal corridors make you feel like you are in an underground car park which is dark and dingy...
The service from the staff is not as you would expect, there simply aren’t enough around, there are no pool attendants, ordinarily this wouldn’t really be a problem but because of the ridiculous choice of parasol that wasn’t big enough to shade a pair of shoes with an extremely heavy base it was impossible to take shade from the sun, with fair skin and two young children this has really put a downer on our experience. Staff at breakfast are also run off their feet which impacts on service. The location isn’t the greatest either being positioned at the top of a steep hill, something I had missed from other reviews 😩 this wouldn’t be a problem if I didn’t have a 5 and 3 year old in tow, something to consider if you have young ones or are less mobile. The nicer restaurants are a taxi ride away, I wasn’t expecting this and was an added cost. On a more positive note the pool area in general is good and the views across the bay are great. A nice enough place but overall most definitely not 5 stars, particularly where service is concerned.
