La Niña review

Review by Emma T Ellesmere Port, United Kingdom

So after my last visit in December 2020, I returned in May 2022… ( I did say I was never going back as the standard of this hotel has slipped .. a lot ) however being a lone traveller, I feel safe and comfortable in this environment, as I have stayed here 12 times) If I was travelling with someone else the likely hood is I would of tried a different hotel. The hotel itself… does require some updating as it’s looking shabby … I always upgrade to VIP on arrival because i want the sea view and the added extras of the dressing gown, the slippers the coffee machine in your room, cans of pop, the daily newspaper and the rooftop access… is it worth it ?? Depends on what ur after..! I paid 350 euros for 12 nights.. on top of the 1200 I paid ....

The food I noticed was hotter than usual so I am assuming they received a number of complaints regarding this… the pool bar I can not comment on as I never use it ..!!! I am going back on the 1st of July.. so I’ll let everyone know the update..!! If I get there that is.. as Ryanair ( Spanish cabin crew ) are on strike ..!!

Brilliant

Currently staying in the la nina in a club room. All the staff in the hotel have been excellent especially Aaron and the bar staff. Food has been more than adequate...

Alberto and the restaurant staff all very friendly as are the reception staff. The only downside was the entertainment. Will be back in October

Amazing hotel. Don't believe the bad reviews!!

I couldn't have asked for more from this hotel! This hotel was amazing and had everything we could have asked for. It was clean, the staff were friendly, the food was amazing the pool was great!

Food - all you can eat buffet for breakfast lunch and dinner. Evening meal was always a theme....

Mexican, kebab, Spanish etc but there was always staples such as chips, nuggets, pizza, bread, meats and cheeses! Breakfast had everything you could think of too! Even for fussy eaters there was always something. There is also an al a carte restaurant that if you're all inclusive you can use twice. The food there was like a 5 star restaurant it was amazing! Pool snack bar also served the basics too. It was all delicious!

Drinks - everything you could ask for wide variety for all inclusive. Cocktails are all like slush cocktails but plenty of options of wine beer spirits sangria too!

The pool was great too. Plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas. It gets the sun all day and the pools were big and clean! Exercise classes and a sun care advisor available too!

Rooms - the rooms were spacious and clean with working air con and large bathroom. Beds were super comfy! Bathroom was maybe a bit dated but clean and housekeeping came round everyday if you wanted! Bath towels provided but was 10 euro if you wanted beach/pool towels. The safe was an extra charge but we didn't use it. No kettle but I believe you could hire one if you wanted!

The only downside of the whole entire stay was our room was on a low floor on the front Street so overlooking the main strip of bars and a night club so I did have to buy some ear plugs for the noise of the music from the bars until midnight/1am every night but the ear plugs worked a treat or this issue wouldn't be a problem with other rooms not on the front/low street so just maybe ask for a pool side room. The hotel entertainment was finished by midnight so no noise there.

Would definitely go back!

A chilled group holiday

Review by Curiosity32243238996 Manchester, United Kingdom

Arrived late into the evening (23.40) and receptionist seemed half asleep. We had 3 rooms between a group of 7 and our keys were all mixed up! Although as requested, our rooms where all next to each other so easily fixed.

Rooms where absolutely beautiful...

Modern and spotlessly clean. Unfortunately, the pool bar was just closing and there were no snacks available on our arrival, but having traveled all day, that didn’t really bother us. We did venture out for a short walk though, and even late into the night there were a few bars and shops open nearby - although nothing too lively.

Once back in the room, we realised we had a partial ocean view, and mostly looked into the street - again, this did not bother us, particularly as it meant we had a view of the mountains! It is worth noting, we could hear the bars on our balcony but as soon as our door was closed we had amazing air con and a beautifully quiet and comfortable nights sleep. The beds are HUGE!

Breakfast is a little hit and miss, but we could always find something to keep us going - I can recommend the omelettes and churros! But lunch and evening meal was always faultless. We went with a couple of fussy eaters and even they could find plenty. The offer isn’t quite as large as other AIs but the quality absolutely makes up for it!

The pool is lovely and refreshing in the hot sun, with plenty of sun loungers either directly in the sun, or that get shade mid-afternoon (preferable for some members of our party who are prone to burning!)

Only a 5min walk from the harbour and 10mins from 2 separate beaches, bars, shops and restaurants, the highlight for us was the positioning of La Niña! We paid €7 to a taxi to Siam Park and €10 for a taxi to Las Americas. The taxi drivers are friendly and happy to answer questions and accept a rounded down fare ti what is on the meter.

All in all, this was my fourth trip to Tenerife and by far the best thanks to La Niña! The other 6 people in our group had never been but have all voiced how they would also return, not just to Tenerife but also to La Niña! Thank you :)

Needs updating. Kids entertainment didn’t exist.

Review by Brucey1980 Carlisle, United Kingdom

Me my wife and child have just returned from a week in Tenerife. We stayed at the La Niña. Reception very welcoming...

Room wasn’t ready which was expected as we arrived around 12:30. Rooms very basic. Water runs brown if you run it to fast. Tv lost signal very often. We paid extra for sea view which I personally wouldn’t bother now. Save your £120. Food was very repetitive and was either luke Warm or cold. Never had a freshly cooked feel. The staff in the restaurant were great. Gave our son a lot of attention which he loved.

The rooms are always clean but very dated. The cleaning staff do a great job. The bathroom was full of cracked tiles and the toilet you had to really hit the button hard to make it flush properly. If you didn’t the water just tricked out. As I mentioned earlier the water runs brown if you run it to fast. This happened every time and not just now and then. Has a really earthy smell to it.

The pool is ok. The sun beds area looked clean and plenty of room. The hotel was fully booked yet not many people chose to be around the pool. This was also seen in the restaurant. It was never to busy. Makes you think why? We did choose to eat out 3 nights and most lunch times as pizza and chips does become boring.

This hotel to me is for a low income family who are easily pleased. We booked this last minute and literally had no other choice but to stay here. Personally my first and last time. This is a 3star hotel at best. Not even close to being 4star.
