On arrival we were told that our room hadn’t been paid for even though it had. We had to make some calls to resolve this however we were told our room wasn’t ready until 3pm so to come back later. It was sorted when we returned, but the reception staff were unhelpful & confrontational suggesting that we hadn’t paid so first impressions were not good at all and we were made to feel very unwelcome.
We were given a room down in the dungeon (well so it felt) air con is good, maid service is good comes every day, room is dated but spacious and clean.
Location is 10/10, lots of restaurants, bars and shops on the doorstep.
Pool area and roof terrace is lovely, enough sun beds to go around...
Pool bar staff were helpful and friendly. We were told we couldn’t pay with cash and would have to load money onto room account, would have thought reception staff would have told us this at check-in. Also wasn’t told about payment for safe in the room at check-in so had to make our way back up from the dungeon to purchase this.
Pool bar food was nice & cheap enough. WIFI is good & could access this easily round the pool and in our room.
With a refurb of the rooms and some staff (reception) training in hospitality, it would be a great hotel.
All in all though, would not stay again.
We stayed in the Xtra Sea View Room. Kitchen and bathroom were modern and fresh. Minor issues with some of the furnishing but nothing to worry about...
Bed comfortable and lots of storage. Breakfasts were plentiful and many items available. We would have liked the hotel to provide plastic gloves when handling shared utensils in the buffet (as other hotels have done) and sanitizer on the tables. An excellent pool let down by the lack of bed chairs and parasoles not helped by the moronic behaviour of people leaving towels on bed chairs so no one else can use them. The hotel does not stop this. Tremendous location very close to beach, restaurants and bars.
Here at the moment. Hotel is beautiful. Its also in a fab location!it's of nice bars and restaurants arou d...
There are a lot of stairs as someone previously mentioned but there is a lift. Pool. Area is stunning. Lots of comfortable sunbeds. We paid extra for a one bedroom rather than a studio. Total price of holiday was just over £500 each, bed only for a week. Asked for a pool or beach view which was available if we had wanted to pay 25 euros per day for pool view or 35 euros per day for sea view. Disapointing really when the hotel is quiet and rooms are available.
The location of this hotel is fantastic and the pool is lovely, we were in a pool view room With the back facing the room and there was a issue with a grid that was no fault of the hotel also there were 3 cockroaches in our bathroom on the first night, the next day we got a room change we did ask for a upper floor but there was none available so we were put in a room around the corner with pool view again which was nice the noise was gone from the grid but the cockroach situation was worse, they kept coming up the drain on the balcony and up the sink and shower in the bathroom, i did complain at reception but no further room change was offered and to be honest who wants to pack and unpack every other day on holiday it takes time from enjoying the holiday and it looks like the whole hotel has the cockroach problem, a man did come with some spray but that didn’t work only for a day. The hotel clearly has a infestation in the drainage system of the hotel as seeing over 20 cockroaches in the room and on the balcony during a 6 night stay isn’t right, they always use the excuse of the climate but having stayed in many hotels in the Canary Islands i have never seen anything like this, i have stayed in the GF Isabel a few times just up the road from here, sol Lanzarote and sol Barbacan which are excellent sol hotels and never had a problem such as this, you expect to see the odd cockroach knocking about outside but not over 20 in your room and coming up the drain on the balcony. I had booked this hotel for April and August 2022 but have now changed to other accommodation which is a shame because the location is great the pool is beautiful and the rooms are large and spacious but i couldn’t go here again and not sleep worried about cockroaches crawling all over me in the night...
The manager behind reception was lovely and very helpful but the cockroach problem needs to be sorted out and stop using the same excuse when other hotels in the area with more garden don’t have this problem. I am truly gutted that I won’t be going back to this hotel, they say they have a company coming in regularly to deal with the problem so maybe it’s time this hotel tries another company that do the job properly. We did enjoy some aspects of our holiday but not being able to sit on the balcony or sleep really did cast a big shadow over our holiday.
We were generally happy with our stay in this hotel.
Had booked via a travel company - emailed hotel in advance to request upgrade options after reading reviews - were prepared to pay extra for a sea/pool view - had no response.
On arrival we were allocated one of the so-called street-level 'dungeon' rooms - it was a bit walk to get to it but we decided to accept it.
Good points: -hotel is in a great location with lots of lovely restaurants nearby and very close to the beach -room seemed to have been quite recently renovated, had a modern shower, toilet and air con unit -wifi worked perfectly in room (no 4g signal) -while the balcony overlooked the busy seafront, there was generally little or no noise in the room at any time day or night - doors to balcony were tinted and had blackout curtain for privacy -the pool area was spacious and beautiful - we never had any issues getting sun loungers at any time of day -breakfast was OK, we weren't keen on the hot food (not always the most hot), but plenty of bread, cheese, fruit, cold meat options etc meant there was something for everyone
Not so good points: -room wouldn't have been suitable if any accessibility issues but we didn't mind the walk -the corridors around the room had a strong smell of sewage at times - but never noticeable in the room -we had booked a double bed but received a room with two single beds pushed together with separate sheets etc, this was extremely disappointing -our flight home was delayed for 7+ hours - when asked if we could use room to change etc later on we were quoted extortionate rates (would have been cheaper to book a new room overnight!) and provided with a small left luggage room and told to shower at the pool - not at all helpful when hotel was so quiet - just not willing to try to accommodate us in any way. Service in general was somewhat disinterested.
Overall I would stay here again due to the excellent location and pool area, but I would be more selective in terms of paying for and accepting a suitable room.
