Sunset Bay Club

We have just returned home from staying 10 nights at these fantastic apartments. There were 13 of us in total staying in several apartments with a mixture of age groups from over 50 to teenagers. We enjoyed the apartments so much last year we returned this year with more family. Everybody in our group said how much they enjoyed their stay this year that we will be booking again for next year.

The staff are amazing and cannot do enough to ensure our stay was made as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Even when one of our party had their phones stolen on a night out the staff assisted us with the Police.

Excellent location, fantastic facilities with the 2 pools, very comfortable and spacious apartments with good self catering facilities and air conditioning. We had no issues whatsoever.

We returned to the hotel earlier this month for another stay, and after an issue we experienced last year as owners, I have to say that the management and the entire team absolutely pulled out all the stops to make this year’s visit a completely different experience.

For our two families, we were allocated two very large, beautifully presented two-bedroom apartments, both in prominent locations within the property. From the moment we arrived, the attention to detail was obvious, with complimentary food and drinks waiting for us in the apartments — a really thoughtful touch and a fantastic way to start our stay.

The apartments themselves were immaculately clean, and the housekeeping team did an excellent job throughout our stay. Nothing was too much trouble, and the standard of cleanliness was consistently very high. We were also given a complimentary late check-out for one of the apartments on departure, while the complimentary shower facilities were another excellent touch and made the final day much more enjoyable.

It was also great to see the hotel’s bars and restaurants bustling again, with a really lively atmosphere throughout our stay. There is a great choice of food and drink on site, and the property has that ideal balance of being busy and vibrant while still feeling like a comfortable place to relax.

Location-wise, it is difficult to beat. You are within easy reach of both Fañabé and La Pinta beaches, Puerto Colón, the waterparks and a great selection of shops, bars and restaurants. It also makes an excellent base for exploring further afield, with Playa de las Américas and Los Cristianos both easily accessible.

Most importantly, though, I want to recognise the way the management dealt with our previous experience. They listened, they understood the concerns we had as owners, and this year they genuinely went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic stay. That level of personal attention and commitment deserves to be recognised.

The only real negative again was the availability of sunbeds around the pools. As a group of 8, we were lucky to procure 2-3 each day with many others throwing towels over several sunbeds which are sparsely used. This is clearly an objectionable practice globally, but I really do wish hotels enforced the rules on this, though I appreciate it is a delicate matter.

Overall, a really enjoyable stay and a significant improvement on our experience last year. The combination of the excellent location, spacious apartments, high standards of cleanliness, great facilities and, above all, a team that clearly cares about its guests and owners makes this a property we are very happy to return to.
