You will not be disappointed

Review by Kim2902 Oxford, United Kingdom

This hotel is exactly what you see in the pictures. It is a family friendly hotel with in my opinion very minor changes required.

The rooms are well equipped, with a kettle and tea/coffee making facilities and a daily restocked mini bar. We stayed in a master suite and loved the fact you could slide the doors to keep us separate from the sleeping children...

The master suites benefited from having an open plan bathroom as well as a separate toilet. The rooms were cleaned daily and it was like going into a new room each day. The maids really do an amazing job.

The pools were great, we spent most our time down at the childrens section. Yes I was one of those that got up early to save a bed, however this was only because I wanted a front row bed and this was never before 7am. If you were happy with any bed there is no need to get up early. I did notice the top pool there was front row beds available when going for breakfast around 9.30. The pools appeared clean and the pool areas were constantly being cleaned. Yes the floors are slippery as other reviews have mentioned so definitely recommend wearing shoes around the pool area. Don’t go buying big inflatables as they aren’t really allowed, however kids rubber rings seemed to be fine.

The main buffet restaurant I felt had a good selection of food. I loved the fact the childrens area was lower to allow the children to self serve. This gave my girls great independence however we did educate them on only taking what they wanted to eat. The buffet did have a few themed nights, although might have been nice to have some signage as you walked in as the only way to tell this was by some themed hats at the buffet. I really enjoyed the Chinese night on Wednesday. I do feel drinks service was a little slack in here and we constantly had to find someone to bring us drinks, despite the fact we’d be sat at the table with no drinks. I have suggested to the hotel a dedicated drinks waiter for each section as I know the waiters and waitresses are extremely busy. The buffet does get very loud at peak times!! If you want a quiet meal avoid peak times. Also if they ask you at breakfast to eat in the Asian and “it’s the same buffet just different location” don’t be fooled! Yes it’s quieter but the selection of food is minimal and I would say quite basic.

The bars were good and as others have said the lobby bar is the best. I really liked you could have Prosecco as part of the all inclusive and a good selection of cocktails too.

And finally the shows… WOW!!! Just wow! You will not be disappointed by the shows. The cast work incredibly hard and put on 1st class performances.

The biggest negative I have about this hotel and probably the only negative I have is that you only get to see two shows as part of the all inclusive :( I feel we paid a premium to stay at this hotel, at this 5 star hotel and would expect shows to be part of the all inclusive. You can pay to see the other shows, which we did but begrudgingly! Yes they are worth the money but I just didn’t expect to have to pay.

Overall I can almost guarantee you will have a fab time and like my children end up crying when you get home because you want to be back at Bahia principe fantastia!

Just A Honest Review

We got back from 10 days of Bahia Principe Fantasia Tenerife on Saturday the 18th of June. I took my partner for his 30th birthday (present from me). I am only going to point out things I think are relevant as these are things I wish I knew before booking...

The weather was 26/27 degrees every day but it was VERY windy.

I personally do not think it is a 5 star hotel. I have been to several 5 star hotels without sounding snobby and this did not quite have that same spark. It is more like an average 4.

Firstly, the hotel is very clean and stunning. Members of staff are always cleaning, day and night. Either it be the pool, the resturant or your room. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They all also speak good english, including the maids. We left our maid a tip to say thank you.

Secondly, there is plenty of food and drinks severed until 12 in the evening, however if you are thirsty (if you are all inclusive) your room has a fridge that is restocked every day.

Thirdly, there is ALOT of kids. I booked it the week after half term (or I had thought). I could not have been more wrong. There was enough kids to fit a whole primary school. We had to change room after the third night as I am more than sure the child was being ignored to the extreme. He cried from 10/11pm to 2-3am the next morning. I am not confrontational so I did not knock on the door, I called reception instead. Reception were helpful and allowed us to move room with no hesitations. With regards to the children a lot of them maybe age 5 and older was allowed to collect their own food from the stations, hot and cold. On one of the mornings I saw a child pick up 5 bread rolls, rub them on his face and put them back (no parent supervision). A lot of parents were trying to sneak their kids into the adult infinity pool as well. I don't know why as their was two huge pools for the kids with entertainment as well.

Fourthly, the cocktails at the top bar near the reception are the best in the hotel. Period. The ones by the pool are slushies, they taste nice but they do not taste like alcohol. I found the food to be repatative however, the quality of the food was lovely. I recommend all 3 of the a la carte resturants. You have to book them via a app on your mobile phone but if is like a 4/5 day wait so book as soon as you get there! Be careful though, if they recommend any food that is not on the menu. Guess what you are paying for it. The Asian resturant the waiter recommended duck and we said yes and it cost us 18 euros. He didn't tell us the cost until the end after we had eaten. It may only be 18 euros but I would have ordered something else if I had known maybe?

Last point is make sure you do loro parque and siam parque. Tickets are 70 euros each for both (joint ticket). Taxi's to siam park was 25 euros each way and loro parque you can book the coach which is an additonal 20 euros each. Food for a couple was 20 euros for two meals. So if you are taking spending money you will need at least 300 + euros.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay but it is a family hotel and not for couples!

Amazing stay for our honeymoon

We stayed in the hotel for 11 nights and had an absolutely amazing time. The hotel is so clean. The maids and cleaning staff always appear to be busy around the hotel making sure that the hotel is spotless.

Our room was beautiful and overlooked the castle...

The room was spotless and mini fridge was always re stocked daily.

The quality of the A La Carte restaurants were excellent! Faisal in the Asian restaurant was particularly attentive and the Steak house team were great.

The buffet always had a great selection of food (too much sometimes to chose from). The food was warm and quality of products was good.

There were a number of sun beds around the pools and there was no problem in getting a sun bed. The infinity pool at the back of the hotel was great for adults.

In terms of entertainment shows offered in the theatre, these were high quality and were all perfectly coronographed and delivered well.

The only critism would be the general entertainment could be better at night time as it does seem to lack something on the nights you don't have a show booked. The sports bar could be better utilised. ...Oh and that the tiles around the pool can resemble an ice rink when wet! Gripped shoes would be advised!

The SHINING STAR of the hotel has to be Jose Francisco from the bar. We watched him serve on both the terrace bar and the sports bar. He never stops, always smiles and goes above and beyond to ensure all guests are kept happy and refreshed. He is a credit to Bahia and I hope his service has been recognised.

Best holiday ever! Can't wait to come back, dont listen to negative reviews, they obviously were expecting 10 star lol. Well wor

Review by Slice32 Bangor, United Kingdom

Best place out! Do youself a favour and stay here! Loved every second, well apart from Ed Sheeran song Overpass Grafetti played on repeat at poolside! We were amazed at the size of our master family suite. We had the master bathroom, toilet, double sink and a bath as well as a separate toilet. So, two toilets! Never stayed anywhere like it...

Double balcony with 2 sets of sliding balcony doors plus the main bedroom also had two sets of sliding double doors separating you and any kids that might be on the fold out sofa bed. Two tvs. We didn't have kids but they would have been well catered for in this room. We brought our firestick so we could watch netflix etc. Its a pity the hotel dont put a couple of sun loungers on the balcony too, plenty of room for them! Only a tiny table and two chairs. The mini bar was always fully stocked after we used any of the San Miguel tins or soft drinks. Water always provided. We did get a note under our door half an hour after putting our towels over the balcony, fair enough but I think the hotel should have given priority warning this would be an issue. We had a brilliant room, 4404 and got both pool view and a slice of sea view. The adults infinity pool was our go to and nice and quiet. Loved the atmosphere of all the pools, no issue with sunbeds. Maybe if you want certain ones you'd need to get down early but as only two of us, never had a problem! Typical buffet fayre. Some weird and wonderful things for breakfast though. Like items you'd have at dinner, eg. Cauliflower cheese or broccoli. Always found something as I don't eat toast or cereal. Never went hungry. The a la cartes are OK. Went out to San blas a few times for Chinese and Indian, only 10 mins away. There is a hyperdino there too for anything you need. Or the few shops opposite the hotel. Not much else to do outside of the hotel but we knew this before we went. Just wanted to relax and do nothing for 10 nights. There's a lovely coastal walk you can do to Los Abrigos. Had a couples massage and tried the hydrotherapy suite spa one morning. We had the place to ourselves! Even used the sauna and steam room which I thought it would be hot but really wasn't. Lovely, would highly recommend. Husband loved the black thong they made him wear lol. Lobby bar best for drinks we found but the pool bars have a good selection of cocktails in those slushy machines. There's a cool Sports bar too. The Eden bar at the castle also does whipped ice cream which was tasty. Can't fault the place at all, staff work really hard and it was so clean. The shows are amazing, we did 4, even paying 20e for the 4th one. Those performers are in some shape, lots of great aerial choreography and music. Can't fault the hotel one bit. Can't wait to come back next year for another couples holiday. Don't get why some reviews think you have to have kids to come here. I wanted a 5 star all inclusive hotel in Tenerife, an amazing room with different restaurants and awesome entertainment, a big old disney like Castle on the grounds and to just unwind for 10 nights and guess what? I got it! Room cleaned every day, nothing like getting into a newly made queen size bed every night with fresh towels! You also get pool towels changed every day. Block 4 had afternoon sun and it was hot hot hot for June! Yeh, bit windy so bring towel clips and your own drinks container, the paper ones they supply are OK but don't keep the drinks cold obviously and they don't supply Straws so bring metal ones. All in all, a fab holiday and very sad to leave. Check out at midday and hotel fully booked so couldn't get a late check out, however that saved us 60e and we used the clubhouse which was perfectly adequate to get a shower and changed before we left. Weather was avg 26deg every day. We didn't see any sights this time as have done them before but Siam Waterpark is fantastic, def worth spending a day there. Please don't be put off if you don't have kids, yes, fab for them but was also fab for us as in our early 40s and suited us well.
