Wonderful vacation

Review by Yashar62 Singapore, Singapore

We stayed at Bahia Principe Fantasia for 5 nights and have a wonderful time. Everything was immaculately thought after and arranged; from the design of the hotel to pools and kids play area, to the quality and variety of food. Entertainment during the day around and in the pools were refreshing (thank you Nino and Adanoy)...

The gym was well equipped and the instructors were fantastic (thank you David and Jennifer). Night time entertainment and shows were terrific. My only suggestion is to provide more changing areas for babies

Poor quality and service

Review by Rick_Duggal Isleworth, United Kingdom

Supposed to be 5 star all inclusive so I thought it would be a relaxing time for me and the family. This is day 3 of 7 booked. No tea or coffee in the rooms but have a kettle and mugs! I requested some tea and coffee and reception told me the could not provide this. I am currently suffering with an abdominal infection and cannot go to the main hotel for coffee...

The walk to the main area is at least a 5 minute walk and at 6 am it is impractical to walk out just for a simple cup of coffee.... this is so simple to get right but they refused. There is a fridge/mini bar with 2 beers snd 3 or 4 soft drinks. Once used they do not stock up. Firstly this is the worst mini bar I have seen. I am staying at an all inclusive and would expect a full range with regular stock ups. After a day of sunbathing/ looking after the children it is nice to shower, relax and have a few drinks in your room prior to going out for dinner. This option has been taken away from our enjoyment and totally negates our experience There is a burger bar wher you can go for snacks... avoid at all costs ! All the burgers are burnt to cinders. They taste like cardboard with no flavour. You have to book in for all food here including breakfast, lunch and dinner using their own App. If you are not rech savvy then god help you! The food is very average. Dont think will come here again.

Amazing family holiday!

Review by jonnyh487 Redditch, United Kingdom

Just back from an amazing family holiday to Fantasia Bahia Principe. What a place! Never come back from somewhere that we instantly want to book again.

From the welcome we received upon arrival from the reception staff and bellboy, to the excellent service every night in the buffet restaurant or the a la carte restaurants and the brilliant entertainment and kids club staff...

The whole team are on it all the time and make you feel so welcome. The food was good in the buffet and we highly recommend the 3 al a carte options, with the steak house the highlight for us.

The shows were the best we’ve seen at a family hotel. Great productions across the week, really impressive, our 4 and 2 year old were perplexed and watched all the way through, which says a lot too.

There a 2 heated pools in winter and the kids area is ideal for young ones and older children too. Adults can’t go on the slides with the little kids though, just so you know.

One piece of advice…download the app, and be ready to book your al a carte and shows at 11am each day.

We can’t wait to go back!

Would not recommend

Review by linad278

I would not recommend this hotel for the following reasons. The highly inflexible booking system, which you have to use online via an app to book absolutely everything you do in the hotel. It is very stressful! the poor food quality both on the a la carte and buffet options...

The buffet, which is regularly cold and set within a stressful and noisy canteen environment. The lack of indoor bars ie the sports bar only shows one sports channel. The adult pool area is impossible to use due to the cold pool temperature and high winds coming in off the coast. I felt cheated when using the spa as I booked two treatments worth over €100 for 1 hr and a half and was refused entry to the indoor spa pool area unless I booked a dedicated time slot and paid another €50 per hour. I would not recommend booking a swim up room as you will be unable to use it due to the high winds and shade covering the swim up rooms from around 12:00pm. There are limited spaces to sunbathe without being affected by the high winds. The staff are very friendly and kind, although the reception staff could be a bit more accommodating. The rooms are really nice and very large. We had a beautiful sea view but there are no bath tubs, which is a real shame considering there are no jacuzzi’s that you can use for free. The hotel is certainly not the place you want to be for a nice relaxing holiday, it is not really catered for couples, more for families. The location is extremely poor with only a very few amenities around compared to somewhere like Los Cristianos for example.

Great for kids

Review by KatieRocko Sydney, Australia

Entertainment staff are so friendly and fantastic with the kids, our two boys were getting a lot of high fives throughout the holiday.

Shows Once you’ve seen one they’re pretty much the same. You can see they work really hard on their shows but I think they should have different people for the different shows, as you’re left feeling that it’s just the same shows different songs.

Buffett restaurant So much choice, but make sure you get there early for breakfast if you don’t like noise, and early for dinner if you have kids. If you’re sat far away from the food selection area, the food is Luke warm to cold by the time you get back to your seat. If you want tea with milk, you’re always given hot milk, so make sure you always specify cold milk. Also please serve more vegetable dishes...

I really craved a roast dinner with all the veg once we got back.

Steak restaurant Staff were super attentive, this is by far the best restaurant of them all. Pork ribs- are more like pork belly so only order if you don’t mind a really thick layer of fat. Steak was amazing!

Asian restaurant Oddly very snobby, starters ok, but other courses average

Italian Felt rushed to get out of here, pizza undercooked and profiteroles were empty.

Pool area Very windy and very slippery. Please all be careful not just kids as we saw numerous people falling over (old and young) We bought slipfree shoes for the kids, and just wore our flip flops But on the last day our son fell even with them on as it was excessively wet on the floor. The lifeguards were amazing and dealt with him very quickly with their first aid.

Splash pool Fantastic the children thoroughly enjoyed it, the pools being heated was a must as it was very windy.

Rooms Stunning, so so clean. I agree that it is a shame there was no bath, but I have since checked and you can book rooms with baths, so definitely enquire.

Nighttime entertained The singers of a night were all very good excluding one very odd setup of a girl dressed in a very revealing way who couldn’t sing in tune and just shook her maracas, not the breast ones an actual shaker sort of thing. She cleared the place, and no one stayed to watch.

What the hotel could do better in our opinion….. It would be great to have coffee shop on site with pastries, cakes, tea coffee(not from a machine but a barrister) More bars rather than just one large chavvy sports bar, which felt more like a weatherspoons Put some anti slip measures in place, I am surprised this hasn’t been done already.

Would we recommend ….Yes for families as the adult areas aren’t great

Don’t pay for a swim up, as in the shade most of the day and only get early sun.
