Food buffet a dissapointment

Great location and really friendly staff, although it was difficult to be understood in English (accept for the reception and a la carte). The evening buffet was a real letdown since everything was overcooked and completely in lack of flavor.

The only really good food experience was the a la carte led by Jakub, who is a real professional and knows about both food and wine...

He is truly worth his weight in gold.

The junior suite was clearly updated and really nice, but the wind blew right through it in stormy weather.

The advertised Spa was a strange experience. I booked a Hot Stone massage for my wife, but what she got was something completely different. Definitely not pleasant nor professional.

The pool area is really beautiful.

Even behind facemasks, we noticed the staffs' smiles

We booked our last-minute stay in this hotel for one week. We knew the hotel dates from a while ago, but a tasteful refurbishment compensates.
We are experienced travellers and are used to 5 star hotels all over the world, but the kindness and competence of the H10 Big Sur staff is beyond average...

A well motivated and kind team of professionals, operating in a well organized hotel.

Will we come back ? Sure we will !

Perfect

Review by toni_lindley London, United Kingdom

This is the third time my husband and I have stayed at the H10 Big Sur. It was just as relaxing and good this time as the other 2 times we have visited and will visit again. The reception staff were very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay...

on arrival we were given a welcoming drink which was warmly received. Our room was perfect, we asked them to change the twin beds to a double, this was done quickly and by two very lovely housemaids. The room was cleaned every day and to a high standard. We had a superior room with a huge patio area with chairs and sun beds on. We were left a treat every day, the first day we were given a bottle of moet and some lovely treats. This was followed by another two bottle of wine, chocolates daily, aloe Vera cream and Incense sticks. There was also a meal in the A la carte restaurant to be had. The food tasted amazing and was very well presented. The restaurant had a vast variety of food to choose from, some pre cooked but a lot to choose and cooked just for you.
Amanda in the restaurant is lovely and very friendly to everyone. She tried her hardest to speak English with a “ Hello, how are you and did you have a good day”. Most days. She worked very hard keeping the tables cleared and cleaned. The swimming pool area is well looked after and a life guard is there all the time. Towels are supplied and can be changed daily.

The hotel is situated on the promenade, with lots of bars, entertainment and restaurants within a minutes walk.

Disappointing H10 Big Sur Tenerife

Review by trafford99 trafford99

Disappointing Our 4th visit to this hotel, standards have fallen even taking into account the necessary Covid restrictions. We booked a deluxe sea view room, there was a large amount of water leaking from the dirty mildewed shower, the room was tiny with limited storage. After complaining we were able to move rooms to a downgraded category with more space and a bath with shower overhead which is fine...

The pool and public areas are great but the rooms are really dated. The food is not as good as previous visits, we booked half board but will only have taken the evening meal twice. Overall not worth the money.

Another relaxing stay

Review by poppymoon Stourbridge, United Kingdom

It was so good to be back at the Big Sur after travel disruptions due to the pandemic. Lovely to see many of the same people still working there as they are what really make this hotel stand out.

The covid measures taken seem to be working well with an app for booking meal times and hand santitising stations scattered around...

Fortunately all of the guests were respectful regarding mask wearing and space. Waiting for lifts can be a bit slow during busy times but not a big problem. I will be glad when the usual salad areas are back though as being vegetarian I rely heavily on the choices there. I decided to extend my stay by a few days and this was dealt with swiftly by Jesus, thank you. We'll be back in February (hopefully).
