Spring Hotel Vulcano

Review by Martin H Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom

Just returned from a lovely weeks stay at this hotel. Everything about the hotel is excellent, from the way it looks from the outside, to the rooms whi h were lovely and modern with all the facilities you could need. Food was very good indeed with a huge selection, and was like a cake heaven for deserts...

Poolside bar served meals and snacks at reasonable prices too. Excellent hotel and highly recommended.

Nice hotel and UP! room

Review by Miun98 Helsinki, Finland

We were at the hotel for a week in early April. We had an UP room and we were well taken care of. The roof terrace always had clean towels ready and they were available from the bar...

I guess I also got whatever I wanted to drink from the bar. As a self-service, I received food, breakfast, tapas and coffee bread in three sets from 10 am to 6 pm. Up person from reception asked for news on the terrace daily and took care of things if there were any problems or questions. I recommend if you want an easy hotel holiday and stay in the hotel a lot, sunbathing, etc. Not much to see in the village itself. The rooftop terrace had a small hot tub, a large hot tub on one side and a glass pool. Take UP! room. It's worth the price. The room rate also included an ala carte dinner and a massage.

I rename the up terrace

Review by grumbleweedleeds leeds

Cocktail terrace is what it should be called. People having cocktails for 10 am to 6 pm. What's that your having people say, oh I will have one of those...

Even my husband was having a gin tasting session with his friend. The winner gin was citadel. The lunch food I didn't like with a lot of bao buns . I preferred my breakfast in the downstairs restaurant. Claudia serving food and drink on one day fantastic lady and she was the best. But never seen again. The 2 young men serving cocktails and drinks I didn't like as they were not friendly and one of them was the lifeguard.!!! Occasinally we had a lovely young man who would help with putting up the brolleys. He was lovely. The pool was only 1 metre deep useless for a swim but decent temperature and a large jacuzzi. There was a small jacuzzi on the other Terrace but that was freezing despite complaining it never worked. People queued at 10 am and ran for their perfect beds. !!They have 100 +2 spare loungers but usually only accommodate 80. That would be far too many. Sunbeds are large and comfortable. We had a back massage and one hour spa included and the spa pool in the vulcano hotel is broken so had to go to the bitacora. spa Pool hot a nd gorgeous. Some hello magazines to read in the up but no newspapers . One day the sanitiser machine was removed from the cafe and I asked where is it and was told not necessary now!!! I said it is and it came back. Unbelievable. If you forgot your mask in the up cafe you were told and given a free blue one.

Our first room Smelt dank so had to move. Our room had a Google thing on the wall that should have told us all kinds of things but it only spoke german. Got a Man to it and all he said was do you want it removing also the coffee machine never worked. Would I go in the up again ? no too expensive and I want to be near the beautiful new garden thallosso pool . One thing there was Plenty of storage in the bedroom.

We had to wear masks for dancing or else!!!! And Robert Phillips the organist has retired but every night a singer who would sing requests including some Spanish music. And a show .

The sanitisers were in the restaurant entrance but one day were removed!!! So nobody was santising as they came to the restaurant. Some obscure sanitisers somewhere in the restaurant but people didn't use them. I requested they be put back but they never were. Let's hope others push for them to be returned to the entrance. They have upped their game with the food and we had a freshly squeezed orange machine. Tons of oranges went in the top every morning. I wonder if the machine will be there in January when I return. Chef needs to learn how to make a paella and rissoto, they were very poor . Apart from that the food was generally excellent. But more onions would make it more tasty. And the cold rice pudding was delicious and we had requested that. One night must have been guess the dish. No food details anywhere and I did ask the waiter and he said no there isn't any food cards so you just had to guess what it was. A lot of nights we had a musician in the restaurant which made it feel classy.

Went for a viewing of the balance area. And again the pool is only 1 metre deep. At least there was a permanent lifeguard by the pool as there was in the bottom Garden pool but not in the up because the lifeguard was serving not saving!!

5 day trip

Review by janeaI9652TZ United Kingdom

Nice hotel but lacking in atmosphere. No music around pool and too many Sunbed’s so you can’t move between them. Food is good but very much same. Rooms are nice and a good size for just the two of us.
