Perfect stay for Xmas holiday

Review by Sarah310584 Brentwood, United Kingdom

Can’t complain at all about this hotel. Just for couples really chilled out. Very clean in both the rooms and common areas...

We stayed in room 126 and had a lovely view of the pool area. We did go half board but we didn’t need it, there are so many choices outside the hotel, we only actually had the buffet dinner once and the breakfast 3 or 4 times. Both a bit repetitive but nice food. Fresh omelette counter is good. Pool area is lovely, some people have commented on not being able to get a sunbed and towels being removed, we didn’t experience that at all. People move around a lot so it’s not an issue. We had a saxophonist one day which was really good, no other entertainment but might be different in high season. The staff were lovely too and very helpful.

Just got back from a 9 night stay over Xmas. We paid a bit more than usual for Tenerife having read all the rave reviews about this hotel but I have to be honest, I found it to be average and would probably be a 3 star hotel at best.

Positives - easy check in / check out on arrival & champagne was a nice touch...

Rooms were very clean on arrival and cleaned each day during stay. Jacuzzi was always quiet and not used much by other guests. No issues with sunbeds etc as other reviews have mentioned. Breakfast was good.

Negatives - our hotel room backed onto a neighbouring hotel (Gala) & throughout the night there was banging, vehicles pulling up every hour, glasses smashing, lots of noise & a foul stench this made it impossible to use the balcony & resulted in us not sleeping much throughout our stay. We did ask to be moved but were told there were no other rooms available. Evening meal was poor, we only ate in the hotel on 2 evening occasions. We were charged an additional “service charge” of 3.50 euros as well as having to pay for drinks (paying for drinks we accepted but charging on top for “service” at a buffet restaurant was weird). Although we were half board there was also going to be an additional charge to eat at the hotel on Xmas Eve & Xmas Day, by this point we had decided we would not be returning to the buffet anyway but for half board you would expect this to include all evening meals, regardless of the “day”. Another “extra charge” was for pool towels.

Overall an okay stay but would not return and there are better 3*s out there in Tenerife.

Expected better

Review by Kerry W Aberdeen, United Kingdom

We stayed here over Xmas and New Year. We arrived later at night and at check in the staff advised that they would take our cases and we could go get something to eat in the restaurant before it closed at 2130. We also got a complimentary drink on arrival which was nice...

We were allocated room 328 which unfortunately was next to the hotel Gala. First night was awakened around 4.30am with the sound of the all the empty bottles being taken away. Also, the access gate for vehicles seemed to be used for pedestrians as well (even though they have a smaller entrance for them) and was consistently being opened and closed all day and all night with a really annoying scraping noise. We received on at least 4 occasions towels with holes in them! TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE! Evening meal was poor and never very hot. We were informed that there was a Gala dinner on New Years Eve @ €90/pp!! however, because we were half board it was already included in our package. Unfortunately there was absolutely nothing on this "fancy" menu that we liked. We spoke to reception and were told that was all there was as they would not be doing the buffet that evening. After a little while she phoned the restaurant and the chef offered to make us an alternative which was lovely but certainly not worth the cost. Had we been advised earlier we would have been able to make alternative arrangements. We were leaving early on our last day and were offered a picnic breakfast. when it arrived it consisted of fruit, bread, cheese, ham, various spreads but with no knife. When what we actually asked for was croissants, yoghurt and no fruit!! After complaining we got it changed. Staff were all very friendly.

When we arrived at the hotel we were asked to sign a form that said you can not reserve sunbeds and yet our room being by the pool we saw people putting towels on the beds before breakfast. The room itself was nice it had all you need but personally I hated the music they played by the pool, and as our balcony overlooked the pool it put you off sitting out there.I would never go back to this hotel.

Excellent stay. Would reccomend this hotel.

Had a great holiday. We arrived at 8pm and was greated by a lovely receptionist who said he would take care of our cases so we could go straight down to the restaurant and we could fill out paperwork afterwards. After food we were given a glass of bubbly...

We had a standard room which was everything we needed. There is a fridge and kettle with tea and coffee, hairdryer, fresh towels every day and very friendly staff. The hotel isn't massive so the selection of food wasnt enourmous however the quality of food was excellent and there was always something to eat, even for fussier eaters. Each evening there are 2 choices of foods which are cooked to order how you like as extra to the buffet. There is plenty to have at breakfast including cooked, continental, cereals, pasties, cakes, bread, eggs are cooked to order, pancakes and fruit. The only thing I wasn't so keen on was the sausage and bacon as it wasn't to my liking but wasn't horrible. I ate something different every day for breakfast so I wasn't disappointed on the selection. The pool beds are comfy and in winter the sun doesn't come onto the sun beds until 11am and leave at 4pm but the atmosphere was lovely with staff coming to you so you could order drinks. The hotel is in a great spot as it's close to everything but not too close that the nearby clubs are heard. There is free wifi throughout the hotel and a guy who sells trips who works at the hotel.

I left the hotel wishing we could have stayed longer which is always a gd sign.
