Very disappointing more 2.5*

On arrival we upgraded to all inclusive from bed and breakfast (other family members we went with were all inclusive from booking) this was €735 for 2 adults and 1 child. While walking to our room i was really disappointed by the standard of the place, very tired looking with broken floor tiles and damaged walls. Our room was spacious and a great view of the sea (i emailed to asked for a top floor room which they gave us) it was also very basic and needed some tlc especially the bathroom! Beds were comfortable enough but only one pillow per person.
We had a room in block C, now i know this isn't the hotels fault but my sleep was disturbed every evening due to music and a barking dog coming from behind our hotel (wish i taken ear plugs)

On our 1st day we arrived mid afternoon so our 1st meal was in the evening, this was very disappointing, luke warm food! Then we went to play pool and noticed lots of sunbeds were still covered in towels so asked reception if we should be doing the same and she recommended it and there was nothing they could do (We had the same beds for the week and noticed a lot of the reserve beds didn't even get used some days!) We were lucky enough to get sunbeds around the top pool which was a lot smaller and quieter but unfortunately the edge of the pool was very ruff resulting in lots of cuts for my son (see my photos).

Back to our 1st night we went to the bar and ordered malibu and pineapple juice to be told we needed to pay, i was all inclusive so why? To be told you need to be on all inclusive plus (nothing was mentioned when i asked to upgrade) at the point id had enough and went back to reception to ask for a refund for the upgrade. This only happened the day after when the jet2 rep spoke with reception in Spanish. I was relieved to get our money back which meant we could enjoy our meals when we went out. Overall we had a good week because we pushed all the bad things to the back of our mind and spent every evening out. Los gigantes was a lovely place to visit for a meal at the harbour.

We wont be returning and even nicknamed the hotel eyesore instead or Isora.

Tired, and not in need of work

I'd avoid. The staff are fantastic, hard working and very friendly. The rest leaves a lot to be desired.

OK, but below expectations

The rating of the service could have been higher because, although we met some very friendly and helpful staff (such as Carlos and Cristiane in the restaurant), we also came across some who were rather unfriendly and even rude (mainly at the pool bar). The food at the only restaurant is quite varied and well prepared, but at busy times it can get rather chaotic and it takes a long time for dishes to be replenished. The hotel needs more care and maintenance (some furniture needs replacing, particularly the sofa beds; the doors need adjusting or even replacing with better ones, as they let all the noise from the corridors through). The daily cleaning of the communal areas could also be improved. But the biggest drawback is that the hotel allows guests to leave their towels on the sun loungers overnight – around two-thirds of the sun loungers remain ‘reserved’ like this for days on end, even when the owners of the towels don’t even turn up at the pool all day (we complained at reception, but they said there was nothing they could do). La Arena beach is wonderful and very close by; the walk there is easy even with children and well worth it (I’d recommend hiring a beach umbrella as the black sand gets very hot). Note: The sea-view rooms are situated on the top floors, where the balconies have no roof sun protection, awning or canopy; in other words, the sun shines into the living room all day long, making the interior extremely hot – you have to keep the curtains closed at all times, which defeats the purpose of the sea view. Fortunately, we managed to switch to a room on the floor below, with a balcony sheltered from direct sunlight (we lost the view we’d paid extra for, but we were much more comfortable as the sofa where the children slept is right by the window).

Best hotel we have stayed in definitely recommend

Dear Hotel Management Team,

I would like to take the time to sincerely thank all of your staff for being so wonderful and welcoming during our stay. From the moment we arrived, we have been amazed by how kind, helpful, and professional everyone has been towards us.

I never really write reviews but felt I needed too regarding our experience as you all went above and beyond for us, especially for my son who has autism and learning difficulties. You very patient with him

Reception Team When we arrived, I had a few requests regarding our son, who is disabled, and needed some extra covers and pillows to make him more comfortable. I spoke with the receptionist, and within 30 minutes everything we needed was in our room waiting for us.

Throughout our stay, whenever we had questions or needed assistance, the reception team were always happy to help. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and we truly appreciate the care and attention they showed us.

Housekeeping Team Our room has been lovely, and we would like to thank the cleaning staff for doing such a fantastic job. Our room has been cleaned and our beds made every day to such a high standard.

We noticed that there was no hand wash in the bathroom and had been using shampoo instead. The cleaner kindly noticed this, and when we returned one day, there was a new bottle of hand wash waiting for us on the sink. This small gesture meant a lot and showed the level of care and attention your staff provide.

The beds have always been immaculate, fresh, and comfortable, and the clean towels have been greatly appreciated.

Restaurant and Bar Team The restaurant and bar staff have also been fantastic. Everyone has been welcoming, polite, and friendly. Even during very busy times, the team always remained helpful and attentive. They work incredibly hard, and we really appreciate all their efforts.

The food has been lovely, and our son especially enjoyed watching the chef prepare the meals, which was a wonderful experience for him.

I would be very grateful if you could please forward this message to the relevant department managers, as well as the hotel’s General Manager, so they are aware of how much their teams are appreciated.

Thank you once again to everyone for making our stay so enjoyable and memorable. Your kindness and dedication have truly made a difference.

Kind regards, Emma and ian pollitt

⭐️ Wonderful family holiday – don’t be put off by the reviews! ⭐️

We’ve just returned from a wonderful family holiday at Servatur Isora and, after feeling quite worried by some of the recent reviews before we arrived, I wanted to leave a fair and balanced one. Yes, there are areas that need updating, but this absolutely did not spoil our holiday and we came home with some brilliant memories.

The positives The food was genuinely very good. There was plenty of variety, everything we tried was tasty and there was always something we fancied. We were on the standard All Inclusive package and were pleasantly surprised by how much was included. Wine is available with meals, and sangria, cocktails, beer, coffees and soft drinks are also included.

The staff were probably the biggest highlight. The animation team were absolutely brilliant and put so much effort into entertaining the children. The mini disco was fantastic, with extras such as balloons, face painting and temporary tattoos, and our little girl loved it. The professional evening entertainment was also really good, with dancers, singers, circus acts and other performers brought in.

The service staff were consistently friendly and efficient too. A special mention has to go to Pablo, who was always so lovely with our little girl after watching her sing at karaoke. From then on, every time he saw her he called her “the singer of Servatur Hotel”, which she absolutely loved! 🥹😂 Those little interactions really made her holiday.

The pools are excellent and I loved that they each had a different atmosphere. There’s a family pool by the family block and kids’ club with a big slide, an activity pool in the middle of the complex next to the bar with music and plenty going on, and a quieter relaxation pool at the top. They are saltwater apart from the baby pool, but honestly I hardly noticed.

Our room was spotlessly clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. We paid extra for a superior sea-view room and the view was absolutely stunning. We also had a coffee machine, cava on arrival and dressing gowns, which were nice touches. We stayed in the family block and found it lovely and quiet at night. The air conditioning was also brilliant – very effective and definitely appreciated in the Tenerife heat!

The hotel itself This is where I think some of the negative reviews come from. The hotel is definitely in need of renovation in places. We arrived at around 11pm and had to use the lift in Block F to reach our room. The lift was scuffed and dirty-looking and the corridor/walkway had lots of cracked tiles and chipped and peeling paint. I’ll admit my heart sank a little initially! However, everything looked much better in daylight and, because we had a spiral staircase outside our room, we never actually needed to use that particular corridor again.

Interestingly, other walkways around the hotel looked freshly renovated and lovely, so I wonder whether improvements are gradually being made. There are still areas that need attention. The flooring around the pools has quite a few cracks, the exterior could do with a general freshen-up and, although the Art Deco-style entrance is lovely, there were numerous lights not working. The pool toilets are in desperate need of upgrading and the arcade room could also really do with some TLC.

One other minor negative was the shower temperature. The water was consistently lukewarm rather than properly hot, so if you like a really hot/scalding shower, don’t expect one here!

None of this ruined our holiday whatsoever, but it is worth mentioning because the hotel is officially rated four stars and, in its current condition, I personally wouldn't consider it a true four-star hotel. I’d describe it as a good three-star hotel with some excellent facilities and staff.

The buffet restaurant itself was lovely and the outdoor seating area was delightful, but it could become quite chaotic at peak times, with queues forming. It feels relatively small for the size of the hotel, so I can imagine this being more of an issue during the busiest summer months.

Another improvement would be a second daytime pool bar. The only one open during the day is by the activity pool, so if you're staying or relaxing at the opposite end of the complex it can be a bit of a trek!

The area We absolutely loved the location. It is much quieter than somewhere like Playa de las Américas or Costa Adeje, so if you're looking for lots of nightlife this probably isn't the area for you. However, it is visually stunning.

The natural black-sand beach is beautiful, with volcanic rock and gorgeous foliage all around. One tip – wear pool/beach shoes! The black sand gets HOT in the sun and is absolutely roasting underfoot! 😂

There’s a small strip along the seafront with bars, restaurants, shops and ice-cream places, plus a lovely children's park very close to the hotel.

I would also highly recommend visiting Los Gigantes. The bus took only around 10 minutes and cost us just €2.90 for two adults and a child. It's a stunning little town with breathtaking cliffs, a lovely marina and plenty of restaurants and shops.

And if you get the opportunity, go to Teide! It genuinely feels like another planet up there and was one of the highlights of our trip.

Overall We had a wonderful holiday. I had genuinely worried before we arrived because of some of the reviews I'd read, but those worries were largely unfounded. The hotel does need investment and a good general freshen-up, and I wouldn't personally rate the property itself as four-star standard at present. However, the cleanliness, food, pools, entertainment and especially the wonderful staff more than made up for the tired areas. Most importantly, our little girl had an amazing time – and so did we.

Thank you, Servatur Isora, for a wonderful stay and some very happy family memories. ❤️
