Lovely Hotel

Spotless hotel rooms very comfortable and kept clean asked for a kettle got one right away like pur cup of tea in morning and night time.pool areas kept spotless. couple of mishaps a few times at our stay young children having toilet accident in pool meaning pool got shut parents need to be more attentive but most if them were. Food of high standard and always plentiful...

Entertainment need to be locked at for older guests there was nothing apart from a lady ga ga concert for 45 mins piano bar Fri sat but there's another 5 nights if the week . If you a smoker two areas for smoking. Reception staff first class . We were in a standard room excellent all in all a week of relaxation as for the review saying poo everywhere that is not true . This is one of the cleanest hotel's I have ever been too immaculate . As I said earlier only down side was the entertainment loads of older couple's here on their own the hotel definitely catered for children but don't forget about couple's on their own.

In a perfect world all hotels will be like this...

Review by h0wardr0berts Leeds, United Kingdom

....quite simply - stupendous.

The hotel is modern and spotlessly clean. Almost every surface is quality marble or stone and highly polished.

The facilities are so good that I rarely left the building.

The staff are awesome. Nothing is too much trouble...

special mention must go to Roberto on reception who was a gentleman's gentleman plus Danielle and her colleagues at the Platinum club. I loved the whitebait, caviar and the cava amongst regular helpings of strawberries and more than a few beers.

Agree with other comments that the upgrade to Paltinum is well worth every penny . The Platinum Club and infinity pool are utterly wonderful and wort the trip alone - equivalent to 5 star facilities within a 4 star hotel budget.

I stayed in room 768 so the sea view was exactly as advertised. The room was peaceful and comfortable as well as of a good size. I consulted the excellent pillow menu and took delviery of 'healthy pillows' which were firm memory foam. The mattress was also firm and memory foam.

The room had a fridge which was invaluable for keeping a few cold drinks for when the need arose.

The all inclusive food was of excellent quality and of a wide variety. I don't think I've ever eaten so much fruit in a single week.

A great break. Genuinely sad to leave, but will return.

Slight quibble in that the speed of the wifi was occasionally patchy, but very mcuh a minor issue.

Loved every minute!

Review by StephOHagan South Shields, United Kingdom

Writing this review whilst enjoying my last day here! From first arrival, staff are extremely helpful and informative about the various things including safes, towels and how to get to your room. We had a room on the second floor overlooking the pool but could also see the sea view which was stunning on a night time when the sun was setting! The only downside for us as a couple in the room was the bed is 2 single beds pushed together and they do move quite easily so if you like to cuddle up at night it’s not ideal for that! The standard rooms don’t have tea or coffee making facilities which is a shame as I do like a cup of tea before bed, but it didn’t put me off loving my holiday! The room was cleaned every day and fresh sheets and towels were always left, they even folded my husbands clothes if he had left them on the floor. The beach is a 2 minute walk (5 minute if you walk at a snail pace like me) and it is beautiful! The pools are kept very clean and there isn’t a fight for loungers...

One pool is kept free of inflatables for people who just like to swim or relax. As a very fussy eater, I am always worried about all inclusive holidays but I didn’t have anything to fear - I ate in the buffet restaurant most days (apart from the 2 meals we had in the other restaurants on the hotel grounds. Definitely enjoyed the tapas restaurant with the dancing!) lots to choose from in the restaurant including fish and meat cooked in front of you to a wide choice of salad, cheeses and dressings! The dessert section is a must, lots to choose from. The food wasn’t repetitive and there was the odd theme night from Italian with pizza to Chinese with noodles but there was still other things to choose from even though it was a theme night. The snack bar is available from 10am until 6pm and has breakfast food served up until around half 12 when it changes to dinner and included pizzas, hot dogs and burgers. You can help yourself to as much as you want and also to drinks as much as you want. The evening entertainment is great for kids with the mini disco but does come across a little repetitive as the songs are in the same order most nights. The animation team do try to put on shows for adults after the mini disco however it is a little basic and the shows are only 45 minutes long. We didn’t stay for all of them as they did repeat them on some nights. Overall it’s been a really good holiday and definitely somewhere we would come back to!

Great hotel, some minor issues!

Review by richyrich_2004 Aylesbury, United Kingdom

6 night stay at this hotel with BA Holidays. No major issues with BA out of LGW other than the 90 minutes coach transfer. After an hour wait for coach, we ended up getting a taxi with another couple which cost approx 55 euro one way...

The hotel itself - Pros

  • The staff are very friendly.
  • The whole hotel is relatively nice, very clean! I can not fault that in any way.
  • Food is available from around 0800 to 2200.
  • The food is very good, a variety of dishes, meals, fish and vegetarian. The food was delicious but some things did become repetitive.
  • The bar is open from 1000 to 0000, it was great to see the bars have self pour beer, sangria and cold water.
  • There are two pools for non platinum people, there are lots of sun beds and one pool is geated to kids and the other adults.
  • It is next to a beach and some great restaurants opposite the beach, we went to one to try local food and it was delicious.
  • The rooms are nice and the ones facing the pool have a good view, others not facing are over looking a construction site.

The Cons

  • The evening entertainment is dreadful for adults, having said that the Lady GaGa impersonation and pianist were both great. Other events were a MJ dance impersonation, a kahoot quiz and the others I can not comment as we walked out. I think its more geared to the children.
  • The bar ran out some drinks every day, like white processeco which became quite annoying. The bar closes at 0000 and the security guards ask you to go to your rooms at this point.
  • The hotel is not suitable for pick up for quite a lot of the tours we want to do, it was too far away so this is something to check.
  • It is quite windy which brings a lot of clouds from the mountains. The wind picked up quite few pool umbrellas which ended up in the pool or nearly hitting people! They need locking pins to their bases.
  • The beds are single beds (in double rooms) and we used a duvet between the two to try make them into one.
  • Adults are not able to use the slide.
  • There are pools tables which were often broken and you can't use them after 0000.
  • pool towels are 10 euro deposit and you can change them once during your stay, so take some towels. Platinum members

We did not go Platinum and asked at reception about the upgrade , it was an additional 25 euro pp per night. In my opinion I do not think it was worth it, the premium alcohol wasn't vastly different to ours, the food is the same in the dining room ( other than additional snacks in the Platinum area by the pool, which I can not comment on ). However you do get a jacuzzi at the pool and it is adults only so that is a benefit.

Overall it was a great hotel, very clean and good food! I'm not one to return to hotels as I'd prefer to try new experiences, however if I had to go back, I would quite happily go back.

Poo Everywhere

I just returned from a weeks trip at the Landmar hotel Playa la Arena. We were really excited as the hotel “looked impressive online”. However upon entering our hotel room a stench could clearly be smelt coming from the bathroom...

The toilet had poo marks all over the bowl and the toilet seat. The room looked like it had been serviced as the bed was made and looked tidy. The shower tray contained some body hair (pubes). Overall the smell was horrendous of poo in the room. We expressed our concern to reception staff whom immediately defended the hotel and said “our cleaners wouldn’t let that happen”. They refused to clean the room until the following morning. We also noticed that public toilets in the hotel were dirty, women’s sanitary bins smelling and men’s bathroom had urine on the floor leaving a stretch. Poor service and TERRIBLE STAFF.
