Utopia Resort and Residence

I want to start this review with a huge thank you to the entire hotel team for the fairy tale they gave our family. We were traveling as a couple, and these 10 days flew by like a single moment, leaving behind only a touch of sweet melancholy and a strong desire to come back again.

The beach is absolutely incredible! The sea entry is gentle, the sand is snow‑white and soft, like fine flour. We came at sunset and couldn't stop admiring the colors: the water shimmered from turquoise to deep sapphire. Sunbeds were always available, the area was impeccably clean, and beach cocktails were served with genuine smiles. This is the best place to forget about the city and simply lose yourself in the sound of the waves.

The restaurant is a work of art in itself. The buffet is simply superb! Every morning we were greeted with fresh fruit, several types of omelets, and amazing pastries. At lunch and dinner, our eyes went wide: seafood, marbled beef, a huge selection of fish dishes, pasta cooked right in front of you, and incredible desserts. The chefs constantly surprised us with theme nights (Italian, Turkish, seafood). It's impossible to leave hungry here, even if you tried!

The animation and evening shows are absolutely explosive! The team gives 200% every single day. During the day – poolside workouts, water polo, and dances that lifted our spirits from the very morning. But the real magic started in the evening. The shows are professional: acrobats, fire shows, music parties – all top‑notch. Every night was special, and we didn't miss a single event.

But the brightest highlight was, without a doubt, the animator Robin! This guy is pure energy, a walking celebration! He somehow manages to be everywhere at once. During the day, he plays beach volleyball with the kids with the same enthusiasm, leads aqua aerobics, and in the evening he rocks the stage so hard that guests of all ages start dancing. Robin isn't just a staff member – he's a true friend to every guest. He remembers everyone by name, always checks in on your mood, cheers you up, and is ready to help with anything. His English and Russian are so good that he effortlessly entertains an international crowd. It's thanks to his charisma and sense of humor that our vacation became unforgettable! Robin, if you're reading this – you are a superstar!

Overall, the hotel exceeded all our expectations. We got a boost of energy, warmth, and good mood for the whole year. Bravo! We'll definitely be back, and we already miss this place! 10/10, highly recommend!

Crowding: The resort was quite busy, but the situation was generally comfortable. It was not so crowded that you constantly had to squeeze past people, and if you looked around, it was still possible to find unoccupied sunbeds. So, despite being a busy family resort, I did not find the crowds particularly annoying.

Food: The food was average to good. There was a very wide selection, to the point that sometimes it was difficult to decide what to eat. Every few days there was either salmon or shrimp, which was a nice addition. The desserts were also interesting and generally good, although some of them were quite unusual and unlike anything I had tried before. On the other hand, the watermelon and melon were mostly tasteless, and I was surprised that there were only two varieties of Turkish delight (lokum), which were quite similar to each other.

The resort also has a small Yummy Burger restaurant. Unfortunately, the quality and taste of both the burgers and the pizza were rather disappointing compared with what I expected.

Drinks: This was one of the areas where I expected considerably more. There were only two types of beer available, Tuborg and Carlsberg, while imported alcoholic drinks were available for an additional charge. The only imported whisky offered free of charge was Ballantine’s. Cocktails were acceptable, but they were clearly made mainly with inexpensive local alcohol and syrups. The quality also depended heavily on the bartender — sometimes the same cocktail was quite good, while at other times it was almost undrinkable.

Minibar: The minibar was probably one of the weakest points. It was essentially there just for the sake of having a minibar: three 250 ml bottles of Pepsi/Mirinda and one 1.5 L bottle of still water. It was also not always refilled every day.

Beach and sea: The beach itself is sandy, which is a positive, although there are some areas with small stones/pebbles that can be uncomfortable to walk on barefoot. In some places it was perfectly comfortable, while in others the stones were noticeable and slightly painful under the feet. The sea was also somewhat cloudy during my stay.

Nightlife: This was by far the biggest disappointment for me. I would not really describe the resort as having nightlife. There was a DJ in the evening, but he played essentially the same playlist every night. Since I enjoy nightlife and pay attention to music, it was quite easy to notice that the playlist was practically identical every evening. The music stopped strictly at midnight every day. Even playing your own music quietly from a small portable speaker after 00:00 was not allowed.

Activities: There were some activities available, such as tennis, volleyball, darts and archery. However, some activities were quite limited. For example, with darts and archery you could sometimes only get a few attempts per day, depending on the situation. I also missed having indoor activities such as billiards or table tennis, as well as other options for the evening.

There are also water activities, available for an additional charge. One thing worth mentioning is that the staff operating the water activities also take photos and videos of guests while they are using the attractions. At the end, these photos/videos are offered for purchase at an additional and rather significant cost, €60. This felt somewhat excessive, especially considering that the water activities themselves were already paid separately.

Spa and wellness: The resort has a sauna and a Turkish bath (hammam), which I found pleasant to use from time to time. They are a nice addition to the facilities and a good way to relax after spending the day outside. Massage services are also available, but they come at an additional cost.

Overall: This was my first stay at a Turkish resort, so I do not have much experience with which to compare it. Utopia is certainly a decent family resort with a good selection of food, a nice sandy beach, plenty of space and generally reasonable crowd levels.

However, I was expecting more from a hotel marketed as a 5-star Ultra All Inclusive resort. In my opinion, many of the UAI standards are technically present, but some of them are fulfilled more on paper than in terms of actual quality or variety. The limited selection of alcoholic drinks, very basic minibar, inconsistent cocktails, limited activities and almost nonexistent nightlife were the main things that disappointed me.

Overall, I would personally rate the hotel closer to a good 4+ star resort rather than a true 5-star UAI property. It is a reasonable choice for families who mainly want food, pools, beach and daytime activities, and the resort does many of these things quite well. However, for adults looking for premium drinks, a more varied entertainment program, stronger nightlife and a genuinely premium Ultra All Inclusive experience, I would recommend considering other options.
