Dosinia Luxury Resort

Stayed at Dosinia for 10 nights at end of September.

PROS

• Pool choices are great and there are pool activities every day. Loads of sunbeds no need to reserve but I bet it is rammed in peak summer time. The main pool had music playing all day but there is also a slightly smaller pool around the corner, which is a bit quieter.
• The food at lunch time at the outdoor snack area is very good. This was the only meal time that we enjoyed, but it is good.
• There is lots to do for kids over the age of 2. There are two splash parks for kids as well the water slides. There is also a kids club and two outdoor play areas.
• The bar staff are all absolutely brilliant. We were very well looked after by Nihat and Mehmet. They would remember your drinks order and even bring the tables over to your sunbeds without us asking. We never had to queue long for drinks at all but in peak summer time you definitely will have to for a while. There is only one outdoor bar that serves all of the pool areas.
• On 31/09 the pool was finally heated. It wasn’t cold before that to be honest, but wasn’t warm enough for young kids or babies.
• There are a few market-type shops around the hotel as well as convenience stores. There are no restaurants.
• Evening entertainment is usually just loud music at the D Bar. Nothing wrong with it really.
• Just a 48 minute private transfer.

CONS

• The hotel is nowhere near a 5 star. It may have been 10 years ago. It’s average in how nice it is. But the number of facilities is great. 3 or 4 stars is where this is.
• The food in the main restaurant is just a disgrace to be honest. It is not good for vegetarians either. We could always eat but it was kind of the same food every day and very average. Some things were just outright horrible. We never looked forward to the evening meal at all.
• The Irish bar was closed the entire time we were there.
• The Whippet Inn was open but it was very old and tired. Just a really bad atmosphere almost like it was a really bad pub at home in England.
• The beach at the back of the hotel is full of stones and the view of the sea has been ruined by piers positioned 50m apart of each other.
• Reception staff are pretty rude but you only have to deal with them twice.
• The bedrooms are small and outdated. Didn’t really bother us as we spent no time in there.

Overall, we had a good time but were ready to go back after a week. We wouldn’t really go back to be honest. I think most people would say they had a good time in the end but wouldn’t go back. Everybody we spoke to kind of agreed that it was an okay hotel with great facilities and bad food, but that’s it.

Wouldn’t recommend it if you have kids 2 or below but over that I think they would enjoy it.

I would probably look elsewhere to be honest. 7/10 overall holiday.

Amazing staff and choice of facilities but that’s about it.

We had a lovely stay at the Dosinia Hotel in Turkey and overall had a really enjoyable holiday.

The hotel itself was lovely, with a great atmosphere and friendly staff. The only disappointment was our room, which was advertised as having a “garden view.” Unfortunately, our balcony had virtually no view at all as it was completely covered by a large bush. It would have been nice to have known this when booking, as the view was an important part of choosing the room.

Aside from that, we really enjoyed our stay. A special mention to Ali Cay at the Marin Bar, who was absolutely lovely, very accommodating and always up for a chat. He really helped create a great atmosphere and made us feel very welcome.

The hotel representative was also very helpful and assisted us with arranging a trip into Kemer and getting us back to the hotel, which made everything very easy.

Overall, we had a really good holiday. The hotel has a lovely atmosphere, the staff were friendly and helpful, and we would happily return — we’d just make sure to clarify the exact balcony/view when booking the room.
