Had a great experience at Regnum Carya! The food was excellent, with plenty of variety and great quality. What I enjoyed the most were the night parties — great atmosphere, entertainment, and energy.
Overall, a fantastic place for a fun and relaxing holiday. I’d definitely come back! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Regnum Carya – A Personal Experience Through the Eyes of a Tourism Professional After many years working in the travel industry and running a travel agency in Romania, it is sometimes difficult to experience a hotel simply as a tourist. Inevitably, you notice the details: the way you are welcomed, how smoothly the services operate, the attentiveness of the staff, the quality of the gastronomy, and all those seemingly small things that ultimately make the difference between a good hotel and a memorable experience. My stay at Regnum Carya, however, was first and foremost a personal holiday with my husband, not a hotel inspection. What follows is therefore my personal experience, inevitably seen also through the eyes of someone who has worked in tourism for many years. Arrival, Check-in & Guest Relations First impressions always matter, especially at a resort positioned at this level. The arrival and check-in process was well organised, and one thing I particularly appreciated was the Guest Relations concept, which creates a much more personal connection between the guest and the hotel’s various services. Another very useful feature is the Regnum assistant available via WhatsApp. Being able to communicate directly with the hotel, request different services, ask questions or quickly obtain information without constantly having to contact reception makes the guest experience considerably easier. Technology in hospitality is truly valuable when it does not complicate things, but makes them simpler. And that is exactly what happens here. The Room We stayed in a Jade Room with sea view, which was spacious, comfortable and very well maintained throughout our stay. One detail I particularly appreciated was the separate dressing room. It may seem like a small feature, but during a one-week stay it makes a real difference: luggage, clothes and shoes can be kept separately, without cluttering the bedroom, allowing the living space to remain tidy and pleasant. Housekeeping was consistent and discreet, and the overall standard of the room was entirely in keeping with the hotel’s category. That said, I do not believe the Regnum experience is defined primarily by the room. The true strength of the hotel becomes apparent when you step outside and begin to experience the resort as a whole. Gastronomy & Restaurants Gastronomy is undoubtedly one of Regnum Carya’s strongest points. At a resort where you spend a week or even longer, simply having a large number of restaurants is not enough. What really matters is being able to enjoy genuinely different experiences from one evening to another, both in terms of cuisine and in atmosphere and setting. Regnum succeeds very well in this respect. We had the opportunity to try several of the resort’s restaurants. MAIA, specialising in Peruvian cuisine, was exceptional, both in terms of the quality of the food and the overall experience. We also tried UBON, specialising in Thai cuisine, Al Waha, serving Arabic cuisine, and Alia, offering Mediterranean cuisine, the latter also enjoying a beautiful location by the sea. We also dined at MEXA, the Mexican restaurant, as well as at Sandal. This diversity was one of the things I appreciated most. You can spend an entire week in the same resort and still have each evening feel completely different. Pasted markdown There is, however, one aspect that I believe future guests should be aware of. Although Regnum operates on an Ultra All Inclusive basis, some of the à la carte restaurants require an additional fee. During the 2026 season, the restaurants with an additional charge that we had the opportunity to experience – MAIA, specialising in Peruvian cuisine, UBON, with Thai cuisine, Al Waha, with Arabic cuisine, and Alia, with Mediterranean cuisine – charged EUR 30 per person. Sandal, as mentioned above, is available at no additional cost and operates on a walk-in basis. Personally, I do not feel that this charge diminishes the quality of the dining experience, but I do believe it is something guests should be aware of when choosing an Ultra All Inclusive resort in this price category. Another important point is that not all à la carte restaurants are open every evening. If there are particular restaurants you definitely want to experience, I would recommend checking their opening schedule at the beginning of your stay and making reservations in advance. There were, of course, several other restaurants I would have liked to discover, but unfortunately we could not find availability during our stay. This certainly does not mean I have given up on them. Quite the opposite: I have already decided that I would like to return to Regnum Carya in 2027 and continue exploring its gastronomic offering. And Nikos, the Greek restaurant, will definitely be on my list, as unfortunately I did not manage to experience it this year. Pasted markdown Nikos – One Small Episode That Raised a Question Since I have mentioned Nikos, this was actually the only moment during our stay when I felt that better coordination between the hotel’s services would have been helpful. I wanted to try the restaurant and requested a reservation through Guest Relations. The only available time I was offered was 9:45 pm. Although I thought this was rather late, I accepted. We arrived at the restaurant at the scheduled time and, to my surprise, the entertainment programme was just ending. I asked whether there would be any further entertainment that evening and was told that there would not, as the programme had finished. In addition, the kitchen was due to close at 10:00 pm. At that point, I decided not to proceed with the reservation. This was not an incident that affected our holiday, nor did I feel it necessary to make a complaint. Nevertheless, it did raise a question for me. At a resort of this level, I believe Guest Relations should inform guests when the only available reservation time is after the entertainment programme has ended and, particularly, when it is so close to the kitchen’s closing time. Perhaps, under such circumstances, that time slot should not be offered at all. It is a relatively small coordination issue and one that should be easy to address, which is precisely why I feel it is worth mentioning. Nikos, however, remains on my list for my next visit. Pasted markdown The Shamrock Irish Bar – An Area with Room for Improvement We also tried the 24-hour dining option at The Shamrock Irish Bar. The bar itself and the Irish pub concept are visually very attractive. However, I found the atmosphere in the restaurant area somewhat less successful and rather subdued, particularly in contrast with the energy and atmosphere found throughout the rest of the resort. If I could make one recommendation to the hotel, it would be to give a little more attention to this area and to the atmosphere created there. Of all our dining experiences at Regnum, this was the only one where I felt that both the food and the service fell somewhat short of the very high standard we experienced elsewhere in the hotel. Precisely because the overall level of gastronomy at Regnum is so good, the difference becomes noticeable. Pasted markdown Beach, Pools & Outdoor Areas The beach, pools and outdoor areas are very well organised and, in my opinion, represent some of the resort’s greatest strengths. There is a wonderful sense of space, with extensive green areas, swimming pools and a beach that is beautifully integrated into the property. Even in such a large resort, you can find different atmospheres depending on what you are looking for – activity and entertainment or, alternatively, peace and relaxation. The gardens and mature vegetation contribute greatly to the charm of the property. Regnum does not feel like a large hotel simply built around a few swimming pools; it feels like a complete resort. One service I particularly appreciated was the possibility of ordering drinks directly from your sunbed by scanning a QR code. At the same time, staff regularly circulate through the beach and pool areas, asking guests whether they would like to order anything. It may seem like a small detail, but it is exactly the kind of service that contributes to the feeling of comfort in a premium resort: you do not have to get up and look for a bar or a waiter whenever you would like something. Naturally, the size of the property also means that distances can be considerable, and in certain situations the buggy service is very useful. Pasted markdown Access to Regnum The Crown – An Important Added Benefit Another advantage worth mentioning separately is the possibility for Regnum Carya guests to enjoy a number of facilities at its sister hotel, Regnum The Crown. In other words, the experience is not limited exclusively to Regnum Carya. During your stay, you can also enjoy a selection of spaces and services at The Crown, adding even more variety to an already extensive holiday experience. These include private beach areas, à la carte restaurants, as well as Daphne, where breakfast, lunch and dinner can be enjoyed. I found this to be a real advantage, particularly during a one-week stay. Being able to alternate between the two properties, discover other restaurants and spaces, and experience a different atmosphere considerably broadens the overall experience. In my opinion, the opportunity to enjoy not only Regnum Carya but also a significant selection of facilities at Regnum The Crown represents genuine added value to the stay. Naturally, access conditions and included facilities may change from one season to another, so I would recommend checking the details directly with the hotel for the dates of your stay. Pasted markdown Entertainment & Evening Atmosphere Another very strong point of Regnum Carya is its entertainment programme. Practically every evening offers a different show, live music or another type of programme taking place in different areas of the resort. I particularly liked the fact that there is no sense of one central programme that everyone is expected to attend. You can choose a show, listen to live music, continue the evening on a terrace, in a bar or restaurant, or simply opt for a quieter evening. For a seven-night stay, this variety makes a significant difference. The evenings never become repetitive. Pasted markdown Service – Where True Luxury Really Begins After many years in tourism, I have come to believe that luxury in hospitality is no longer defined simply by marble, spectacular architecture, the size of a room or the number of restaurants. True luxury is about consistency and the natural ease of service. It is about how effortlessly a guest can enjoy everything the hotel has created for them. Regnum Carya succeeds very well in this respect, and the quality of its staff contributes significantly to the overall experience. Overall, the service at Regnum Carya is of a very high standard, and we encountered many members of staff who were professional, attentive and genuinely kind. At the same time, when a hotel positions itself within this price category, expectations are naturally very high. Small delays or occasional differences in service become more noticeable precisely because the overall standard is so high. Perhaps this is one of the few areas where an already excellent resort can continue to evolve: maintaining the same quality of service everywhere and at all times, regardless of how busy the hotel may be. Pasted markdown Value for Money Regnum Carya is, without question, an expensive resort. Whether or not the price feels justified will also depend on how each guest makes use of everything the resort has to offer. The Ultra All Inclusive concept is extremely comprehensive, and the number and quality of the restaurants, facilities, entertainment options and services are impressive. At the same time, a premium price naturally comes with premium expectations. For me, Regnum’s value does not lie in one single spectacular feature, but in the completeness and complexity of the overall experience. Many hotels can offer an excellent room, a beautiful swimming pool or a very good restaurant. Far fewer manage to bring so many different elements together and make them work as one coherent experience. Pasted markdown Final Thoughts I came to Regnum Carya for a holiday, not for a professional hotel inspection. But after a professional lifetime spent in tourism, it is almost impossible not to notice those details that separate a very good hotel from a truly memorable hospitality experience. Looking at our stay as a whole, the small observations I have mentioned did not in any way diminish the excellent impression Regnum Carya left on us. On the contrary, I believe that a hotel at this level deserves to be evaluated precisely through its details, because its overall standard is already extremely high. There is no such thing as a perfect hotel, nor do I believe that a credible review should pretend otherwise. Regnum Carya does not impress because of one exceptional restaurant, one spectacular swimming pool or one beautiful room. It impresses through the combination of space, gastronomy, service, entertainment, technology and the sheer variety of experiences it offers. We left after a holiday that we genuinely enjoyed and, perhaps most importantly, with the desire to return in 2027. For me, the most meaningful conclusion, both as a guest and as a tourism professional, is that from now on I can recommend Regnum Carya to my clients not only on the basis of its reputation, presentations or professional information, but also from my own personal experience. And that is probably the most sincere recommendation I can give a hotel.
Nurhan did an amazing job, she’s serving us with a smile face and she’s available whenever we ask for support.
