Akra Kemer

We have just come back from Akra Kemer and I think this is one of the best resorts we have ever been to, The instalations are amazing and spotless. The rooms comfortable and the pools are great. The pier is also wonderful - great if you like snorkelling. The food was all good and varied - we tried 3 a la carte restaurants - all great. But for our family the best thing was the entertainment team. They really made an effort to speak to guests and get them involved in the activities. My sons are 20 and 22 and they loved playing darts, volleyball, water polo etc. They played every day and made lots of friends. There was entertainment every night - I particularly liked one live band and the MJ dance group. The hotel must have been full but you would never know - there are so many spaces for everyone to enjoy, and plenty of sunbeds (very important!). I can't recommend this resort highly enough. It's excellent and you will come back rested. I hope we will return some day!

Wow. Just got back from a week at Akra Kemer and we are delighted to have chosen to stay here, on reflection is over delivered and exceeded expectations.

Worth a private transfer I think but not too far from the airport the run there was fine at just over 1 hour. Going back was longer so I’d pay next time to go privately.

First impressions as you pull up are good but don’t be fooled if you think it’s just another 5 star turkey hotel - get in the lobby and it’s very smart, lovely clean and stylish layout greeting you. Check In was super quick and some very helpful information got us into our room in no time. Super happy here first impressions count for a lot after a long journey. Very clean, modern room with a cracking mini bar with water, soft drinks and a couple of beers, coffee and tea and some snacks too. Gowns and slippers, iron and a safe are nice to see. Super spacious shower which worked really well it was just so nice to be in the room if you needed to be in there. Bed was massive and super comfy also. Air con not too noisy and really effective and a great balcony view. Room 1020/22 if it’s necessary to note, on the ‘lobby’ floor so perfect placement.

The pools were amazingly laid out, initially I thought it was a gimmicky long pool for style over function but it was not at all, a great space for a slightly more relaxing swim and the pool bar pool never felt crowded. Plenty of sun beds we never stressed once about getting 5 beds together which is a huge relief. Service in the day was incredible - roller skating staff bringing drinks throughout the day taking orders and delivering super quick, constantly, so polite and friendly it was just superb service from that team. Bar staff alike, sometimes a little busy with the odd wait due to low numbers serving but never anything to put you off and lots of options at different bars. On the drinks for adults - amazing. Never had such a consistent quality of alcohol. Bottled beers of 4 varieties I think, plus perfect tap lager which never tasted anything but perfect as it should be from the pump. Measures on spirits were very large and the quality and consistency there was spot on. Some amazing cocktails made for you making you feel like you’re somewhere special for a drink. Evening bars even better.

Food - à la carte we tried was safron I think (Turkish food) and that was incredibly tasty super well presented food. Even the wine was nice. Service top notch due to the lower numbers of guests. The app or the guest services allows bookings you just need to appreciate first come first served is normal. We also did the Mexican themed outdoor which was not as ‘posh’ but was very nice also. Top quality food.

The outdoor lunch foods were all top notch plenty of burger options, pizza, sizzling meat grill, and plenty more. Everything we had was perfect in taste and was served fresh and hot. Never ever felt mass produced and rushed.

Main restaurant was busy sometimes but never too busy to find a table. Sometimes the tables needed clearing and cleaning but I don’t expect you can solve this. I guess if that was dealt with quicker by dedicated staff it wouldn’t have felt as much as ‘all You can eat buffet’. Genuinely so hard to make any other room for improvement comments there weren’t really any. Don’t think I saw chicken nuggets though (haha) and maybe I’d have liked more pasta options but again so hard to find anything to say when it comes to critical feedback. Everything again seemed fresh and hot. Lots of selection. Great fresh salad options. Even the odd sausage and bacon option at breakfast. Oh yeah - big criticism - English baked beans are not supper to be hard beans by the way 🤪 still tasty and otherwise like home!

I was blown away with ice creams - 12 flavours I think in the coffee shop or something like that. Also branded selections of expensive but included ice creams from a freezer that was never empty. Kids couldn’t believe it. Puddings were plentiful and all amazing. Coffee shop type place was insane - fresh fantastic tasting treats, milkshakes, and endless options on drinks. Always perfectly served.

Kids entertainment was superb the team were so engaging and brought strangers together making our 10 year old feel special and part of a group of friends he’d never form without that help and environment. Brilliant.

I guess then it’s only evening entertainment left then. Very all inclusive turkey style here it’s not my thing but it was plentiful, first night we got there to a live classy performance in the bar, and outside we were treated to quality music night club style, with lighting to boot, proper set the tone off. The MJ performance was brilliant. The circus / acrobatic stuff was also really entertaining to watch. The water feature to the lights and music at the gala were superb and a real classy looking show. Just my taste as a boring old fart is have a drink and go to bed 🤣 nothing at all wrong here I should point out - I genuinely just don’t really do entertainment at night.

Constant welcoming staff everywhere and they love to get your feedback good or bad. Anything slightly negetive and it’s met how it should be - with a view to putting it right not trying to defend it. WhatsApp service was also insanely personal and super quick. Never ever felt like you were stuck without anybody to ask the simplest of questions to.

Can’t agree with any of the pathetically low reviews this place had. Not at all true to my experience. Maybe out of season there’s something to be said about any summer holiday resort I don’t know, but in peak times this place blew us away. Bravo 👏

Second visit to this hotel something as a family we don’t normally do but we enjoyed it so much 4 years ago that we returned. Again the whole experience was excellent. Food was amazing managed to easily book into the speciality restaurants via the app as long as you logged on at 8:00 we had not problems getting a table. Food was outstanding in all of them. Our favourites were the Asian and the Olive.

A highlight for us travelling with a 10 and 13 year old was the animation team. They were brilliant at making the children feel welcome and involved. They especially liked Ruvi who seemed to be there to entertain the tweens. There was always something for my sport mad 13 year old to do throughout the day. For the ages of our children this hotel is perfect big enough that there’s plenty to do but small enough that you could give them some freedom to explore but be able to easily locate them.

The changes made since are last stay were all positive with us getting plenty of use out of the swim up bar and patisserie. The adults in our party like a tipple or 2 and all of the drinks were high quality!

My husband enjoyed using the gym and spa facilities daily.

Sun-beds were plentiful on both the beach and pool so not having to dash around to get sun-beds together for our partyof 6. The waiters on rollerblades were constantly coming around asking if we wanted drinks.

The location is good if you want to walk into Kemer! However we only did this a couple of times and the children did not want to leave the hotel.

The hotel is spotlessly clean. We had the cheapest room option for our family of four. Which for use was fine. Cleaned daily to a high standard and mini fridge restocked daily. We didn’t pay any extra but had a great view from our balcony of the mountain and sea.

Evening entertainment was good and we all enjoyed having a dance. We were lucky that we were there for the gala white night that we all enjoyed. There was also a bbq party that was good fun!
