The hotel was nice, location great, great gardens and wonderful pool. The slides were great and the pool temperature was perfect. The rooms were fine with air con that was much needed. The staff worked hard and were mostly lovely, the bar staff were quite miserable and you felt like a pain when ordering a drink. The restaurant was a nightmare , people rushing for food, fights over the pizza and sometimes not enough tables. Other guests were rude although this is not fault of the hotel. The entertainers were lovely, especially Mia who we got to know fairly well. She always has time to talk and help and makes you feel like you the are the only customer that matters! She is a real asset. Generally I loved the holiday. Well worth money paid.
Stayed here for 2 weeks on a family holiday with a party of 13in mid July.
Arrived late on a Saturday evening but check-in was reasonably quick. Not to many other arrivals at this point so may have been deceiving.
1st negative was the concierge who loaded our luggage on his trolly, even though told no but we were fine at this point. Taken to room OK, but no info on how to work the aircon or safe. Passed him him a tip in lira as we always do but insisted on receiving more due to the amount of cases we had. We always tip staff, every day in fact. Either cleaning staff, waiter, bar staff etc. 1st time we have been asked for more money. And we were not the only ones he asked. A fair number of families mentioned the same. A few complained to reception.
Our room was a family room. 2 bedrooms of decent size. Shower room and WC was also decent size. If being picky was showing signs of age but others in our party's room look to have been updated more recently. On arrival our aircon had been dripping at the entrance. Was repaired the next day TBF but having looked at it was more of a patch up. Couple issues with safe but the other day concierges we very helpful. Balcony was very big as the family rooms seem to be at the corners of the hotel so curve round in a L shape.
Our cleaner was OK. Left a number of notes thanking us for the tips but with a caveat to ask reception for fresh towels or even toilet roll! Some of our party hardly had their rooms cleaned in the time we were there. Advised reception but nothing really done that made this any better.
The restaurant was always clean. The food was bland for breakfast. Not enough fresh options. 1st week no toaster and constantly had to ask for butter.
Lunch was decent, fresh fish/chicken etc. Plenty veg etc. But again, for what is a 5* very limited. Dinner along the same line as lunch. Queues for pizza and fresh breads were crazy at times. Always a feeling of not enough staff to keep up with the amount of diners. Wine and beers are options with dinner or soft drinks.
Bar staff were always busy but most were very pleasant. 2 guys on the pool bar in the afternoon, mmmmm. Always have a bit of sympathy for staff in this heat and dealing with numerous nationalities and in a few cases, tipsy guests. But it is a customer service industry. Almost all other staff were friendly and welcoming.
The pool area is a great size and the slides are decent. The half pipe though closed the whole time we were there. Indoor pool was great to have a quick cool down in the heat. Few guests mentioned they thought the pool could have been cleaner but for us this mostly come from guests going to the beach, get covered in sand and then jump straight back into the pool! The staff worked hard to keep the area clean. 2 waiters on wheels were always on hand to get drinks to your loungers. Smaller pool area with the kids slides was also good fun for the little ones.
Drinks were OK during the day. Cocktails were fine, but not the greatest. Especially if you like the cocktail game of working you way through each one!
The beach is nice but be careful when going in the sea. Shells at the start then you have the big rocks there after. Can be a bit hard work this, or fun if you make it that way.
Over all enjoyed the holiday. Made it work for us as that's how we approach holidays.
A few of the staff who deserved to be mentioned are Keyfiye, Recep, Felah, Vedat and Reggi. Both the 'waiters on wheels' running the pool bar every day.
Our waiter for dinner was Halef every night. Had our table set for 13, decorated with flowers and always making sure we had drinks. Really friendly guy and fantastic at his job.
Hope this helps people making their choice when coming to book their trip
Room was ok, two small bottles of water in fridge was shocking for a couple, bar tender in hotel was great until he totally ignored a teenager and myself who had been waiting, pool bar one bar tender was more interested in single white females and ignored people waiting. Mia was a star always took time out to speak and she was brilliant on aqua zumba and Yoja had a blast. Dj Ramos and Rauf were great they always spoke to us
The worst holiday ever,so disappointed .
Don't book this restorant
We had a pleasant stay at the MC Arancia Hotel. One of its main strengths is its location: it is well situated, close to the town, making it easy to get around.
Contrary to what is sometimes stated, this is a 4-star hotel, not a 5-star hotel. Overall, the facilities and services are consistent with a good 4-star standard.
The beach is beautiful, clean, and covered with small pebbles. The rooms are comfortable, of a good standard, and cleaned every day.
The food is very good, with a wide variety of dishes available, including a healthy diet buffet, which is a great addition.
However, there are a few areas that need improvement, especially in the restaurant. As soon as dinner service begins, it becomes a race to find a table and get food. Some guests rush in, creating unnecessary chaos and an unpleasant atmosphere that is not what you would expect in a hotel of this category.
The most disappointing aspect is the incredible amount of food waste. Many guests fill their plates with far more food than they can eat, leaving large amounts behind. Some even take excessive quantities, causing certain dishes to run out before other guests have had the chance to enjoy them. This is particularly unfortunate because the food is excellent and varied. The hotel should introduce measures or guidelines to encourage responsible behavior and reduce this shameful level of food waste.
Despite these remarks, we would recommend this 4-star hotel for its excellent location, clean beach, well-maintained rooms, and high-quality food.
