Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
The view is perfect! Instead, the hotel is very very bad. It is old, somewhere moldy, somewhere broken, veeeeery far from the beach. In order To go to the restaurant from the beach, you will have to go up the very very long stairs, and the sun and the heat will make it worse.
The food was okay, not a lot of variety of it, still you can find something, very picky eaters as me, will be left hungry.
The view is indeed fantastic, and I believe if you are young, energetic and don’t look for something luxurious this hotel is suitable for you.
Senza Garden Holiday Club is advertised as a family-friendly 5-star resort with plenty of activities for children. After reading both positive and negative reviews, we decided to book our holiday there. Unfortunately, our experience was far from what was advertised. Arrival and Room Issues Upon arrival, we were given a room that looked nothing like the photos shown during booking. It was located far from the main facilities, requiring a long walk through steep hills, stairs, and uneven pathways. The room itself was extremely disappointing. It was dirty, smelled strongly of mold, had stains on the walls and bedding, visible toilet residue, old furniture, and leaking bathroom fixtures. It felt completely unacceptable for a resort claiming to be 5-star. We immediately raised our concerns with reception. After showing photos and videos, staff agreed that the room was not up to standard and promised to move us the following day. However, the process turned into a frustrating experience that took almost two days of our holiday to resolve. At one point, we were even told that moving to another room would cost extra. Eventually, we were given a cleaner and more practical room closer to the resort's facilities. While it was a significant improvement, it still did not feel like a 5-star room. The Resort One of the biggest challenges was the layout of the resort. There are steep hills, countless stairs, and long walking distances between many of the facilities. As a family with three children, this quickly became tiring. The resort also felt outdated and poorly maintained in many areas. Guests, shuttle buses, cars, and scooters all share the same narrow roads, which often felt unsafe. Food and Service The food was acceptable but repetitive. After a few days, it became clear that the same dishes were being served repeatedly with very little variation. The service was mixed. Some staff members were friendly, but many seemed uninterested or unwelcoming. Communication was often difficult because several employees spoke very limited English. On multiple occasions, we felt like we were inconveniencing staff simply by asking for food or drinks. Pools and Facilities The pools were decent, but many areas around the resort showed visible signs of wear and poor maintenance. Loose tiles, damaged surfaces, and aging facilities were noticeable throughout the property. The playground was particularly disappointing. It appeared neglected, worn down, and poorly maintained. Our children tried it once and had no desire to return. The main pool with water slides was located at the top of very steep hills. While the slides themselves were enjoyable, reaching them was exhausting, and we regularly saw other guests stopping to rest along the way. The amphitheater and entertainment areas also appeared old and in need of renovation. The Beach The beach was easily the best part of our stay. It was clean, well-maintained, and our children loved it. However, the shuttle bus to the beach was old, overcrowded, and often uncomfortable. The beach restaurant was decent, but communication with staff was once again difficult due to limited English. Overall Verdict The biggest problem with Senza Garden Holiday Club is the difference between what is advertised and what guests actually receive. The resort may have been impressive years ago, but today much of it feels old, worn down, and poorly maintained. The room we were initially given was simply unacceptable, and spending nearly two days of our holiday resolving that issue significantly affected our experience. While the beach was excellent and our replacement room was better, neither was enough to make up for the overall disappointment. If you are expecting a true 5-star resort based on the marketing photos and descriptions, you may be disappointed.
Firstly, this is NOT a 5 star hotel. I would say it is a 3 star hotel. The rooms are dated and tired looking, especially the bathrooms. We had to hold the shower head over our heads as the holder had broken. We booked a two bedroom apartment but it was actually a 1 bedroom apartment with two extra beds in the living area. The first room we were given was a one room apartment with 4 beds, but they moved us to the bigger room upon request. Having said that, the view from our balcony was stunning and the resort itself is beautiful. The aircon was ok but we had to ask for it to be fixed half way through the holiday. The rooms look nothing like they do in the pictures :( The food is OK with a decent selection of salads and savoury options. The desserts look fantastic but sadly most don’t taste of anything! The local beer is good and the wine is ok. There’s plenty of fizzy drink and juice options available. Better air on is desperately needed in the dining room area. The pools are great - two big pools and 2 baby pools. One of the pools has water slides, which our kids loved, and they are open for a few hours in the morning and again in the afternoon. Be prepared to walk up and down lots of slopes and steps as the resort is situated in the hillside! Every day is leg day at Senza Garden! It’s also quite far from the hotel - over a 2 hour journey. The beach is nice and clean and if you get there early you can get sunbeds. Disappointingly, WiFi is extra and you have to pay for each device for each day of your stay. Overall we had a nice relaxing holiday but we were quite disappointed that the photos and star rating didn’t live up to expectations.
Location is great, in the middle of the woods, nice entry to the sea, clean and big swimming pool? nice, spacious rooms, fantastic choice of meals, Verx Good value for the price
