Amazing 2nd visit

Review by livingthedreamUk uk

This was our second visit to this hotel and again it did not disappoint. On checking in we were upgraded to a Lagoon room and champagne on arrival. This holiday was to celebrate a 50th birthday and a 21st birthday...

The hotel was cleaned to excellent standards and always felt very safe during these covid times. All staff are excellent and a special mention to Halit who was always on hand to serve lovely drinks and a friendly chat. The entertainment team always came for a daily catch up and again were very polite and entertaining. Thank you to all restaurant and bar staff who couldn't do enough to help you with always a smile even behind their masks. We would highly recommend this hotel and can't wait to return.

Not worth it

One of the worst hotels I’ve stayed at in Turkey.

There were lots of options with the food, however they were very random and always cold. I wouldn’t recommend the a la cartes - not authentic in the slightest and the service isn’t any better than the main dining area...

Guest relations were incredibly rude and useless, they weren’t willing or able to help. One began to argue and shout down the phone at me when I requested a fan for our room since it was 30 degrees and our AC didn’t work.

The animation team were just looking to make commission and would repeatedly pester you throughout the day. Only the aqua bar had entertainment until late, which meant that people were queuing for seats all evening.

Not all bars have named brand spirits so you have to figure out which ones and always specifically request them. The shuttle bus only runs once a day at 9:30am and will only go if all seats are filled. A taxi to Antalya is around 30 euro each way and there isn’t much to do in Lara Beach unlike other resorts.

Finding a sun bed was never an issue and the beach is nice. However they only have permanent over head shade which you cannot move, meaning you have to chase the shade or sun.

Generally the bar staff are really attentive and friendly, especially around the pools.

I was impressed by the food options during the day and they consistently changed - much better than the evening meals.

Avoid going in the ‘off season’ months - they have a central AC system which turns to heating from 1 November. We didn’t have one good nights sleep since the room was so warm. I would’ve expected a 5 star hotel to have fans or try to accommodate people who didn’t want the heating on in 30 degree heat, but they didn’t.

The other guests were mainly German, which wasn’t an issue but there isn’t much of an atmosphere.

The hotel is really outdated and is in desperate need of a revamp.

5 star Not Really

Review by Dave W Bishops Stortford, United Kingdom

Not very impressed for a so called 5 star hotel. Air conditioning not working when temperatures were hitting 30c. When told about it staff said the air conditioning had been switched over to winter........we even saw people sleeping on balcony...

Entertainment was practically the same every night. Dancers and competitions that were mainly all German guests. Don't think I saw any English speaking people taking part. But the hotel seems to cater for German guests and we kept getting mistaking for German. The ala carte restaurants served better food then the buffet but not much. We thought the Chinese and Spanish were the better of them all. Staff were friendliest. The Italian staff looked after the German guests ( filling up wine glasses etc) . We kept given the menu for Germans. the buffet some of the staff serving were miserable. What I found bad was when what appeared to be a manager in the buffet coming round offering to give change so you can leave a tip. The odd server also seemed to hang around waiting for a tip when they had brought you a coffee or juice. Again for a 5 star you would think staff would speak English more. Most spoke German. Funnily. Our favourite was sitting in the lounge area outside by the chocolate counter. An excellent waiter called Ellken (sorry if I spelt it wrong) but he kept our drinks topped up. The chocolate counter was an experience you must try. The coffee shop is stuffed with good choices all to ruin any diet. All in all most of the staff were friendly with the odd person not happy. The hotel is amazing it's clean and although the food is not all western style you will not go hungry. Drinks are strong in alcohol and plenty of choice. The room is spacious but NOT ENOUGH space for clothes to hang. If you have long dresses they will crease as they can't hang properly. The maid kept it exceptionally clean. Let down was the air conditioning. Pools were freezing so everyone that wanted to swim were round the only heated pool. Which was the Relax. You were not allowed to reserve sun beds. But this rule obviously didn't apply to certain people. Not saying. ......We had a good holiday and rest. It was in an excellent location. Middle of shops etc.But won't be returning to this hotel. We found our stay at IC Green hotel further round was better food and friendliest staff. But again they struggled with speaking English but they tried

Very Bad Stay Compared to other hotels

I went to delphin dova with my family two years ago and it was really nice. Here my son encountered a very bad experience with Germans trying to take our sun beds by the heated pool. They spat on us and kicked our shoes...

The human also only has 3 water pans . The water sports are too over priced as well. The food is atrocious here compared to delphin diva. My daughter went to get an omelette after the German incident and she accidentally bumped into the German women and she scared her by saying “boo” out of nowhere. This is not how an eleven year old should be treated . Guest relations didn’t really do nothing about the situation . I will not be coming back here again as my children are frightened . The only thing that is good about the hotel I would say is jumping off the pier on the beach but I still don’t think that it was worth all of this and the money. Definitely don’t come here if you have children otherwise they can’t get any sleep before 11:40 pm as the live music is to loud and the hotel is inconsiderate.
