Bodrum

Refurbished in 2013, this popular beach hotel is built in a style typical of Bodrum, low-rise and white-washed, and consists of 212 rooms in 6 buildings overlooking Bardakci Bay. Built on a sloping hill, the hotel is laid out in terraces reaching down to the sandy beach and grassed sun-bathing area. The cosmopolitan resort of Bodrum is less than a 30 minutes' walk away and to reach the majestic St Peter's Castle at the far end of the bay, it includes a walk along the pretty waterfront lined with Turkish gulets on one side and shops, bars and restaurants on the other. Public transport runs by the hotel.

Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

First holiday after covid

Review by 97lisas97 Whitehaven, England, United Kingdom

Beautiful hotel. first I'll do the good bits, great views and staff were amazing especially Muhammet in the main buffet restaurant, who ALWAYS made sure our table was ready and waiting for our family of 6, nothing was ever too much trouble, he knew our drinks after the first meal, excellent asset to your team. We also found Tanner in the beach bar restaurant to be amazing too, fantastic customer service from both these guys...

Symon the photographer is another great asset to you team, real genuine nice guy, always ready for a chat and to give helping hand. The beach bar served beautiful fresh food, the pizza were amazing. We went here everyday for lunch.
We loved the boat taxi that went from the neighbouring hotel (20 lira each way) that dropped you into Bodrum town centre. The rooms were kept very clean by the maids and our fridge topped up daily. We didn't arrive until after midnight on the first day, but we were able to get food which was great. Easy checkin also despite the time of night. The hotel has its own small part of the beach with a waiter making sure you have drinks didn't get his name but another great staff member. There is also an ice cream bar just above the beach about 6 flavours The available everyday. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk to Bodrum or Gumbet. We found Gumbet shops very pushy and only went once and didn't go back.
Bad bits
I would not advise this hotel to people with walking disabilities. Lots and lots of steps. The food in the buffet restaurant was the same everyday, very poor. We often found it hard to find something nice to eat at night as the beach bar closed at 5 and turned into the fish restaurant, you are allowed to eat here once per stay. The drinks were also poor. I expected frozen slush style cocktails in a 5 star hotel but they weren't. Maybe something they don't do in Turkey but a real shame. After 9.30pm there was nowhere to get any snacks or food, again i would expect to be able to get food at all time in a 5 star hotel. The restaurant beside the check in desk opened up at midnight but should open at 9ish I feel. The entertainment was absolutely rubbish every night so don't go if you want good nightly entertainment. All in all a good holiday would probably goback to Bodrum but not this hotel.

Wonderful holiday

Review by 6kousar Manchester, United Kingdom

We arrived at the hotel at night time didn’t realise we have to take two lift to our room because the hotel is built on hill. In the morning we were woken to a amazing sea view and stunning view of the marina and the Bodrum castle. We did have few issues with the bathroom, there were no hooks anywhere in the bathroom we had to throw all our clothes and the towels in the cupboard side of the sink. The bathroom was not stocked with everything we needed or replenished daily, we had to ring the reception twice for the toilet rolls. Maybe next time we will bring our own toiletries...

Terrace was not private we were offered another room which was smaller we decided to stay in the same room. Other than this the hotel is on excellent location. The architecture of the entire hotel was beautiful with amazing pictures everywhere. The hotel is situated right on the beach and provides easy access to local area Bodrum marina, windmills, transport etc. Food was amazing and delicious with excellent choices of desserts and fantastic service in the restaurant throughout our stay but I loved the seafood restaurant on the beach Which had excellent varieties. All the staff were excellent, staff members were very professional and provided courteous services throughout our stay Hotel spa provides excellent service I had my very first massage by Hacer who was wonderful made me feel relaxed and less stressed. I also experienced the absolute best manicure, pedicure and a haircut at the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel to who want to enjoy a wonderful holiday with excellent service.

Disgusted

Review by Rachhxlyle Glasgow, United Kingdom

The first week of my stay at Salmakis with my boyfriend was amazing couldn’t say a bad word about it, we arrived on the 1st of June and were there for 2 weeks, however the second week was absolutely horrendous. There was a women in the pool after having far too much to drink, the waiters were giving her a wine glass instead of a cup whilst there were kids around her as she’s in the middle of the pool drunk. If the glass smashed it could’ve resulted a lot worse for the children but later that night it did result in her passing out on a sunchair infront of adults and children and she then was took to hospital, only to return the next day being given alcohol again...

The 12th of June she comes over to were I was sitting with other guests and starts screaming at me arguing with me for absolutely no reason other than her being too drunk. The staff all watched and no action was taking about this. As I resolved the situation with the women myself, the following night me and my boyfriend went for a sleep about 8pm only to be woken up with another women opening the terrace door to our room at 11pm. She ran in screaming like an absolute psycho, jumped on the bed on top of me, punched me in my side when I have not long ago had an operation on my stomach, my boyfriend was naked and she’s trying to look at his bum and being very inappropriate. We phoned security and as we did she was barking and shouting at my boyfriend then she ran into our bathroom, stole our toilet roll and went out the room door. We waited for security for about 10 minutes and in the space of this time she was trying to get back into our room banging on the door and trying her key on our room. The security came and told us to “laugh it off” ??? We tried to take matters further by going to speak to the manager of the hotel only for me to be told I was to “hit her back” by going to her room to do so and doing what she done to us and also there security cameras are forbidden? Why do you have security cameras then??? The manager told us she would be kicked out the hotel yet she was still there the next day eating in the same area as us. If nothing gets done about this you’ll be hearing from my lawyer and your hotel will be shut down.

A wonderful Holiday 🙂

Excellent fantastic and wonderful are among the positive adjectives I would use to describe this hotel.  I'm actually at a loss for words to tell you how  happy we were about our stay at the Salamakis resort. First and foremost I must commend every staff member for their professional and courteous service throughout our stay,  Particularly the pool bar, snack bar and waiters in the restaurant  -Ibrahim, Ergan, Bilal and Tarek- to name a few  went above and beyond to really make our holiday memorable. The hotel itself was very clean and tidy, the pool and facilities were great! Bodrum town was a short boat taxi away for €2 and easy to catch and we went on a lovely boat trip too, which I highly advise to do...

The hotel food was very good and had something to suit all ages. a big Thanks to all the staff who worked so hard to make this a holiday to remember, we will definitely be returning 😊

Review by MACJOHN_55 Stirling, United Kingdom

After spending 10nts here with my wife , we both can honestly say we will be back next year . From checking in to checking out , all the staff were excellent. Food & drinks were of a very good standard. Our sea view room was perfect...

The hotel is ideally placed for a stroll into Bodrum and Gumbet . If anyone needs more information about the hotel or the resort feel free to message ... If you have booked this hotel , you've certainly picked one with wonderful staff who provide exceptional service....
