Refurbished in 2013, this popular beach hotel is built in a style typical of Bodrum, low-rise and white-washed, and consists of 212 rooms in 6 buildings overlooking Bardakci Bay. Built on a sloping hill, the hotel is laid out in terraces reaching down to the sandy beach and grassed sun-bathing area. The cosmopolitan resort of Bodrum is less than a 30 minutes' walk away and to reach the majestic St Peter's Castle at the far end of the bay, it includes a walk along the pretty waterfront lined with Turkish gulets on one side and shops, bars and restaurants on the other. Public transport runs by the hotel.

We booked this hotel after viewing its rooms pictures and facilities online. Upon arrival today, the hotel aspect seemed like a saray that was turned into a hotel. This was ok since it seemed just like a different experience...
However, the rooms are so dispersed in a way that you need a lot of time to get from one place to another. Now, the big surprise is that the family suite we booked for double the price of a regular room was TOTALLY not the same as the pictures online. It is tight and old. When checking with the guest service, there was a guy that was really not what you call a "customer service person" that was asking us rudely: "I don't understand why you don't like your room." Well simply because it is old and tight and mainly because it is NOT the one we booked online! He was not getting it and replied rudely that they have no other vacancies, although it is September and the hotel is definitely not fully occupied. For a so called 5 stars hotel and resort, this is definitely not one and they should definitely change their pictures online to show a more realistic and less misleading asepct of the hotel.
Not sure how this hotel gets so many excellent reviews. The decor is extremely dated. Our room stunk of cigarettes even though it was supposed to be a non-smoking room...
The sheets on the beds were dirty/sandy and rough. The wifi hardly worked. The A/C in the room barely cooled. The food was very average - we only ate one meal there and then preferred to pay for our meals outside of the resort even though it was all-inclusive. The cocktails were almost undrinkable (and alcohol cost extra). The staff always seemed annoyed and were not at all experienced in customer service. If you decide to stay here, i would just have very realistic expectations - not a luxury resort by any stretch.
First impression…. A lot of stairs and it looks like a maze. It takes a wile to find your way...
(corridors, different buildings, and hidden stairs / elevators). Second, it is not a 5* hotel as they state. Seems the Turkish way of assigning stars to a hotel is different than the rest of the world. 😊. I travel the world and this is more a 4* hotel. At arriving (7AM, early flight) it took till 2PM till our room was ready. So, 7 hours of waiting in the lobby. (although we enjoyed breakfast). First impression of the room was negative. Small maintenance issues like peeling paint, broken light switch, stains in bath, dust clouds on the floor and tears in the curtain. Furthermore, the 3e bed was a camping bed and the TV suspension bracket did not work so the TV (few channels) was constantly hanging down and a sink in the bathroom that hung at knee height. (must have been hanged by a dwarf). However…. the longer you stay the more you see also the good things. The overall status of the hotel is good. Freshly painted and clean. Nice view. Especially when your room has Seaview (we had) or looking from the lobby. The lobby looks nice and clean. Coffee corner with some pastry, Many chairs and tables to sit and the only place with good working WIFI. (5G). Wifi throughout the rest of the hotel (incl. room) is bad. (like any other hotel in Turkey). The staff in the restaurant is great and they really do everything for you and always with a smile. I never saw them grumpy, even when they were somewhere "out of sight" of the guests. This is different in the reception. They did their job with a smile because they had to smile. Seem the people working behind the reception did not have fun, also a bit curt, like you annoyed them. (maybe because they have to deal with all the unhappy guest complaining bout their room. See above…) The pool is nice and well maintained, the sun terrace -separate area- and the beach are neat and clean. Although some sunbeds need replacement. Towel service is present and a bar for some refreshments. There is a safe in the -spacious- room and a coffee maker. (but you have to asked for coffee / milk replenishment). Refrigerator with drinks, two chairs, vanity table, mirrors and a very ugly color combination of the overall furniture. (if they changed the furniture to a more upscale look, the whole hotel would instantly change its look). The food in the restaurant is Turkish style. (after all we’re in Turkey) Meat, fish and Vegie. And like always in Turkey, do not expect hot meals. They never eat hot, its always cooled down to an eatable temperature. In short, good food with sometimes a nice surprise. (crayfish, sushi, mussels and Turkish specialties) To summarize: Overall a good hotel (expect 4 stars, not 5) with a nice, pleasant staff in the restaurant and with a clean and neat appearance. Do not book this hotel if you have difficulty walking or cannot climb stairs! Overlook the small inconveniences (room maintenance and reception staff) and your holiday will be successful. If you want to visit Bodrum marina / center take the water ferry. Very nice experience and it takes only 5 till 10 minutes. 1,5TL pp. They leave at 50 meters from the hotel and depart every 10 minutes. Really fun and you moor in the middle of the marina with all its restaurants and bars and shops.
The room and the furniture were very old and stinky.
The staff in the restaurant was often rude and very lazy, they were usually just standing around and did not clean the tables so that we had to tidy up the table almost every day if we wanted to eat. The knifes and forks were often dirthy...
The food was horrible. It was cheap food without quality so we often had to go to the city cetre to eat in proper restaurants.
I have never seen a 5* hotel with such a terrible service and food in my life! They are always trying to make money of everything, in the spa, if you pay for a turkish bath, they used for example a kind of soap and at the end they tell you it will cost you extra 50 lira.
I would never recommend this hotel to everyone, it was a really bad experience and because of the Hotel our worst holiday ever. I dont know who gives the stars in Turkey, but this hotel can not have 5 stars, thats just not possible, otherwise they just make themselves ridiculous, because everyone who has been to this hotel knows that its not true, if I am beeing really really nice I would give 1-2 *.
Terrible experience, never again!!!
This hotel is very over priced one. I have not taken into account the previous comments and choose this hotel to stay, however they are accepting single men to hotel like ones coming from a cave, it is not appropriate for families. Do not choose this hotel if it is not cheap and you have a family.
