Friendly staff, very comfortable room, and the food was delicious and satisfying.
Just returned from the Solanaa. I would say that it’s a lovely hotel to visit if you are Turkish. 90% of the holiday makers were Turkish and everything was geared to them. I noticed the strength of the drinks were linked to Nationality so when ordering mine I asked for a Turkish measure (not that they took any notice). Plus points - waiting staff were wonderful and couldn’t be more helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Location was wonderful with access to a private stretch of beach with free sunbeds. The shops restaurants and bars were directly outside. The food was good by AI standards with plenty of choice. There were always snacks available and juice and coffee vendors. The bad points - the only entertainment was one Turkish night with dancers and a belly dancer, and two nights with a Turkish couple singing only Turkish songs. It cost us a fortune at Uncles every night. The maid seldom came in without asking them to or complaining at reception. Even then they never went out into the balcony. Our room was below ground level on the balcony and lots of debris ended up on our balcony. I had to keep borrowing a brush and pan from beside the pool to clean it myself. Our view was partially obscured by polo goalposts and wheel barrows. Our daughter’s balcony was even worse. A huge tree was constantly dropping leaves and it wasn’t swept in the 2 weeks we were there. They had no view whatsoever as barrows and other things were completely obscuring the view of the pool. TOP TIP watch out for the Saturday market. Lots of hassle and they will try to cheat you on the exchange rate.
