Grand Aquarium

Nice hotel, great reception staff, rooms have everything you need for self catering break..no sunbed wars in mornings, entertainment team keep everyone busy and a nice football pitch. could do with the bar opening over at the quiet pool, staff do come over to take drinks orders but maybe only twice during the day. The hotel is a little out the way... vou can get the dolmus bus into main area for 60lr each. Or hire electric trike for £10 a day (bring your driving licence and save fortune on taxis.) Hotel is absolutely spotless and for the price we paid very happy. You do have to pay for air con and safe...... I'd recommend it but it is a little far out from centre if you don't like walking(or like me.... your child doesn't) but for a cheap clean self catering hotel it's fine.

On arrival (12.30am) we had a nice welcome from reception. Although we were told straight away we would need to pay around 35.00 for aircon for the week or 55 for both aircon systems (one in bedroom and one in living area where 2 beds were made for my children) and 35.00 for WiFi if we didn’t want to just use the free WiFi which only worked around the main pool. We opted for the bedroom aircon as it reached the living area. We were also told we could only use a prepaid card to buy food and drinks etc from the complex bar for drinks and food. Any money left would only be given back in Turkish currency. It was quite a lot to take in, especially just arriving that late. They did give us aircon overnight for free and was turned off automatically in the morning until we paid. We were also told we were not staying in the main complex but in another building around the back of the main resort (annex). I was a little frustrated with this at first. But by the end of the holiday I was happy with this as we decided sitting around the small pool that was attached to this was much nicer and more chill. We headed down to the main pool in the morning early as we were told sunbeds could not be reserved before half 7 - they were! People would reserve them from 6.15 onwards and stay on the beds until 7.30 and then you could leave them for 2 hours without being removed. Pool opened at 8. This was a little frustrating as well. So we decided the smaller pool was better as this didn’t happen as much. The main pool was good for my kids. The entertainment team were good. Some good activities. Darts/pool table/odd game in the pool. Slide is open twice a day for 45 minutes at a time. Be careful on this. When you come out at the bottom for some reason it is in the shallow area and it can hurt as you land. Also as it is the shallow area the bottom can become crowded with smaller children who can reach the bottom as the rest of the pool is very deep. There are two large buckets on the complex that have old water toys etc that can be used. But also some children can take your own ones if left unattended for a short time. The cleaner was fantastic - she cleaned everyday and was very thorough. She left us a nice little surprise on the day we left that made my children smile! We were in room 935 and it had some nice views of the mountains and over the small pool. Couldn’t complain at all with the room with the cheap price we paid for this stay. The food is basic. Service in onsite bar was ok! We started realising we were spending a lot at first as we were told nothing bought outside the hotel food wise was allowed in but we got our own things and took to our room. There is a shop right next to garage off main road that was the cheapest by far. It had fresh bread and we made lunch most days - the drinks were very cheap also!! We also eat out at Tommys bar around the corner and drank in here. It has free pool unlike the complex. And the staff in here are amazing and it has a proper chill atmosphere. The food is also much better and really nice. Can’t recommend enough. For a short walk, Cafe Rosa is also nice.

The complex is quite far out. There is a local bus service (really cheap) takes you straight to the main town and marmaris. You can also rent little buggy’s from Tony Macaroni - 20 for the day and these are fun. Or you can follow the canal all the way into the main town which took us about 20 minutes. The bus stops outside Tommys.

One thing that did irritate me was the manager. She is really nice and welcoming but then I almost felt like this was to help her sales techniques. Turkish massage was sold to us immediately on the first day with some force. Then tours etc. she did listen to some things my family needed sorting out and acted fast with anything to resolve them so she did do a good job!

All in all - I probably wouldn’t stay here again. Just a few things irritated me. Also, be prepared for a lot of cats - they like to sit on your towels when your bed is unattended on a morning - Bork!

Me and my partner jane and my 2 daughters along with five grandchildren went here at the end of July 2026 and let me tell you this place is the best place I've have ever stayed talk about fun , cedrick geegee bunky Sally = boss , plus all the restaurant staff looked after us so much and nothing was to much that's not mention the cleaning staff of which all ways kept our room spotless, I will be definitely be going back in 2027 without a doubt, love and miss you guys see ya next year ❤️
