I would strongly advise anyone thinking about staying here to look elsewhere.
The biggest issue was a member of staff called Arkham. From the moment we arrived, he was rude and aggressive. He shouted at me, my mum and my girlfriend for no reason at all, and we even witnessed him shouting at a young girl by the pool simply because she was being a little loud. It was completely unnecessary and unacceptable.
What really stood out was that guests who had stayed at the hotel before us actually warned us to stay away from him, which says everything you need to know.
The hotel itself was just as disappointing. The room was outdated and dirty, and it wasn’t cleaned once during the entire week we stayed. The air conditioning leaked all over our bed, making it uncomfortable to sleep. Despite booking a double bed, we were given separate beds with no proper double blanket, so we had to sleep apart. The shower wouldn’t stay attached to the wall, meaning we had to hold it by hand every time we showered.
To make matters worse, reception showed no interest in how Arkham treated us. Instead of dealing with our complaint, we were threatened with being moved to another hotel.
This was by far one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve ever had. Poor customer service, poor facilities, and a complete lack of care for guests. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
We came here for our first family holiday, arrived very early hours and were greeted by Elvis, who was such a laugh instantly made us all feel soo welcome!! He took all our cases and quickly got us all settled into our rooms to sleep. First morning we met Alkan the bar manager who was absolutely fantastic from start to finish! He helped with anything and everything!
Day 3 my son split his head open diving into the pool, the second I told Alkan, he dropped everything in that moment and picked my son up carried him to his motorbike and took us both to the hospital, he stayed with me the whole time, helped interpret, kept me and my son calm and took us back to the hotel once my son had his stitches.
This was my first ever experience abroad and naturally was very scared I don't know how I would of coped without him!!
My son joined in with all the entertainment, including karaoke night where he sang first and "got the party started" the hotel manager was soo impressed he bought my child mocktails 😂 & he became the maxwell star! 🌟
On site there is a tattoo shop and bag/jewellery/perfume shop ran by a fabulous gent named Dave ❤️ Dave was a vibe!! Such a lovely funny man! He interacted with everybody and made everyone laugh! I bought many bags and many perfumes from his shop and unlike on the streets of Turkey he did not hassle you to buy any of his merchandise.
On my last day myself and 2 other members of our group got tattoos on site done by the very beautiful and amazing Ala at maxwell tattoos. During being tattooed her mum came and brought her some homemade Turkish food, and let me try it! Can't remember what the name of the food was but it was incredible 😍 lucky Ala 😉 She was so gentle I actually drifted off while being tattooed! Who thought that would be possible! 😂 The aftercare was amazing, they covered our tattoos with waterproof skins so we could still use the pool facilties.
The hotel rooms were standard, which was perfect for us as were only in our rooms to sleep and get dressed, we received fresh towels everyday, and one night my child had a accident and needed fresh bedding, the cleaning staff didn't speak much English but she understood my problem and when I wanted to change the bed myself she insisted she would do it for me and brought all fresh bedding, blankets and pillows.
The two young lads who work with Alkan were brilliant with all the children at hotel, interacting with them all around the pool, shooting them with water guns and bringing the kittens around for the children to have a cuddle 😍
The entertainment guy - another lovely guy! My son joined in with all his activities developed a love for water polo, bingo, snooker and last but not least karaoke!
We were not all inclusive so ate at the hotel some Nights and out for others, I enjoyed all the food I was served from full English in the mornings to a range evening meals - there is alot of English food on the menu which was fab as my child can be a picky eater, he adored the chicken shish kebab and ate that for most his meals 😂
One night we had a bbq and they brought in entertainment with a range of Turkish dancers which my whole group enjoyed 😍
All staff at maxwell want you to have to the best experience possible and will go out of their way to that possible!
On our holiday we naturally made friends with other holidayers, who stayed in other higher rated hotels and they had said their staff weren't as friendly nor as helpful, so I am sooo glad and grateful that maxwell was our hotel! especially with my sons head Injury as I worry staying somewhere else he would not have been treated with such importance.
On a final note - we booked excursions with our holiday rep including Turkish baths, water park trip and a boat trip to Rhodes. There is a Turkish bath on site which we didn't know until after we booked an outside one - which we regret we were hassled to book extras and when declined the manor of the staff changed and felt we didn't get the best experience and felt the staff were quite rough with us during the treatments - we also paid more for that whereas onsite it was only £10 and the lady running it was so lovely! So if you go don't be tricked!! Please give her a visit!! We regret not booking with her soo much! The hotel is local to shops, beaches buses running to other locations, hospital (private) was a 2 min walk away. Alot of hotels here do not have free WiFi ours included (pool bar WiFi was free) but can be purchased for a £1 per day - well worth it considering the amount of posts I've seen of people buying WiFi boxes for £20!!
All in all I would and will stay here again 😍
Maxwell the Geordies will never forget you!!! ❤️❤️❤️
We are just leaving 😢 its local to all bars and beach 5 min walk came great value for money came last year came this year for two weeks atmosphete is always enjoyable a big big shout out to alcan and elvis and the manager also my little friend who always books our trips and expiriences and all the bar staff absolutely amazing humans we all love you see u next year !! Just back from our 2nd time at Maxwell
Yes it is not a 5 star hotel so don’t expect that but we had another great time here but this time as a family not a couple
Location is perfect, walking distance to everywhere
Had lunch in the hotel when we was there on pool days and really enjoyed it, service and pricing is really good
Pizzas where quality and my son enjoyed the gravy and chips lol
Drink prices are also good, if anyone moans go to beach and pay the prices there compared to the hotel!
Hotel staff can not do enough for you, always trying to keep you entertained
Cem the owner is a great guy who is always welcoming and friendly, never been to a hotel anywhere with someone like Cem who is always around for a chat and a dance lol
Alkan was first to come and see us in the morning when we arrived, friendly and polite went above and beyond ( ignore the reviews! )
Even when quiet in the bar always found something for us to do and keep us entertained
Elvis - top bloke, made us laugh daily despite my dodgy darts!l
Bar staff brilliant - happy to accept cash or card but keep in mind if your buying bottles of water 70p English money think what that costs them in tax paying by card!
Dave in tattoo shop, what can I say what a guy! I have known Dave a number of years from different hotels in Turkey and I classify him as friend, my wife had another tattoo here and service and quality was second to none
Animals - expect it! You’re in Turkey! Most bars have cats or dogs walking around, just think yourself lucky it’s not the pigs!!
As I say, holiday is what you make it and I am gutted to be back already, it went to quick and I will be returning
If you want 5 star pay 5 star, if you want a friendly family atmosphere this place is for you
Our stay at the hotel was very enjoyable, and a big part of that was thanks to the amazing bar staff. Alkan, Denis, Elvis, Mücait, and Elif were all incredibly friendly, welcoming, and hardworking throughout our holiday.
They always made us feel comfortable, took great care of the guests, and went out of their way to help whenever needed. Their positive attitude and excellent customer service created a great atmosphere and made our stay even more enjoyable.
We would highly recommend this hotel, and these staff members deserve special recognition for their dedication and kindness. Thank you for helping make our holiday a wonderful experience!
Polish Guy and his Son.
