TripAdvisor Review
Not a 4-star hotel - serious issues that need addressing.

On The Beach advertised this hotel as 4 stars. However, this hotel does not meet a 4-star standard. I'm quite disappointed as I expected more from this hotel. I stayed here for a week with my parents. I will start with the positives, then the negatives, and end with a conclusion.

Positives:

The hotel is in a nice place. There are three different pools. The air-conditioning is great in 413, which was the room we stayed in. Bella, the bartender, was very nice. The cleaners try very hard, they set our beds and emptied the bins all the time. The variety of food at lunch was adequate, some days.

When my parents and I were going to leave to go to Dalaman Airport, the taxi we paid for On The Beach, did not arrive. When we went to reception, a male receptionist helped, and called a taxi for us free-of-charge

Negatives:

I got out of the pool from the side, and I cut my toe on a small sharp piece near the filter. I had to speak to the receptionist through Google Translate to get a plaster. Unfortunately, this wouldn't be the only time I would need a plaster. As the protruding skirting board, on the room's bathroom door, cut my heel. I had to get another plaster.

The food quality was very poor, and the selection became repetitive. Milk ran out at breakfast, the beans were cold, even the butter didn't taste nice. Dinner always looked unappetising, and you can't heat up your food as there are no microwaves. The lack of food labelling can be a serious concern, and potential danger, to people with food allergies or intolerances. My choices were very limited, so my main diet was chips and salad; with occasional chicken fillets and carbonara available at lunch.

There are flies constantly in the dining room, and they bugged me on a daily basis. I also saw a shattered window. There are only small paper cups available, and you have to be careful and stack the cup with 1-2 more if you have coffee or tea, because I burned my hand. One time when I was making tea, I noticed that the container with hot water was overflowing. I was concerned that this could cause a serious incident, so I alerted a member of staff. I have also observed that the hotel is quite short-staffed. The coffee machine broke some days, and there is no entertainment, despite On The Beach saying there was.

I saw ants and spiders on the ground near the sunbeds daily, some climbing onto the tables where we put our drinks. If you have a phobia of spiders and insects, please think twice before booking this hotel.

The shower heads are hard to control. The WiFi, in the rooms, is unusable. You only get decent WiFi at the 'Internet Cafe', and the air-conditioning there isn't very good.

The panoramic and indoor bars regularly run out of certain alcoholic drinks, like vodka.

Conclusion:

This hotel has aged like bread. I'm sure it was a 4-star hotel years ago, but it isn't anymore. It has potential, but the food, under-staffing, maintenance and safety issues outweigh the positives. I have attached photos as "honourable" mentions. I don't recommend this hotel. Please pay your hard-earned money elsewhere.

This hotel should NOT have a 4 star rating!

Definitely NOT a 4-star hotel – Very unclear how it achieved this rating.

Travelled 2nd August - 10th August 2026

This hotel is nowhere near a 4-star hotel, and I personally would rate it around 1-2 star at best. Let’s start with the positives before I go on with the long list of negatives. There are some stunning views, beautiful pools, a few great staff and luckily for us we met some lovely people also on holiday at the hotel who really did make the whole trip more bearable. We decided to make the most of a bad situation and try to enjoy our holiday as much as we could. I've travelled extensively and I have never ever experienced a hotel quite like this one, and this is the first time I have felt I needed to write a trip advisor review - just to warn people. I would 100% not class this as an all-inclusive hotel, I would class it as full board with a few odd snacks (cheap cakes, chips and burgers at short, allocated times) with budget alcoholic drinks included.

From mouldy pasta to the terrible WIFI service, to the flies over the food, the broken toilet in our room, the toilets near the quiet pool that were utterly disgusting! This is an honest review of our experience at this hotel.

Let’s start with the food (which I have also pictured). Now I am not a fussy eater, but I struggled to find things to eat and the majority of the time me or my partner ended up feeling unwell and having bad stomachs after eating / the next day, which has continued since being home. The cold food is not kept on ice or refrigerated, there are no covers on the hot food, no labels to tell you what food is and if you had a food allergy (my partner has an allergy to fish) you had no chance of staying safe and was extremely concerning! Some things we couldn't make out if they were fish or meat and I had to test for him. Honestly it was grim on some night looking at the food in the evening, same old salad every night, rice most nights with some sort of meat! Lunch seemed to be better options than dinner and they just used a lot of the leftovers from lunch for dinner. Then to top it off I dished myself up some mouldy pasta on the second from last night I was so pleased I saw it and didn't eat it! The dining room has no air conditioning and just has massive fans and its extremely hot, so every day you walk in and think this is so not safe, and I am going to get ill? I think we were lucky to escape with dodgy stomachs and not full-on food poisoning. We ended up with bread only for breakfast every day but it’s just white bread and one type. Drinking a hot drink from a paper cup just doesn't make you feel like you are in a 4 * hotel and the cups were so cheap I had to use 3 cups for a hot drink to stop me burning my hands, coffee ran out from the machines and there was not an English breakfast tea in sight I think the Royal teabag might be EB tea but was extremely weak. Fruit - just watermelon EVERY lunch and dinner and no fruit for breakfast, with the occasional honeydew melon or cherries sometimes at lunch or dinner. The chips and burgers at the panorama bar were good and the coating on the chips is nice, this always seemed a better option as they cook it fresh in front of you, there was no change in options for this daily snack. Breakfast was baked beans, scrambled and boiled eggs, salad that they also served for lunch and dinners, sometimes wedges and some sort of sausage every day, some white slop that I couldn’t make out what it was, cereal that was hard to find as its in with the salad, no change or variety for breakfast. The afternoon cakes are just a few plates of cakes on the main hotel bar. To add there was tons of flies in the dining room.

The bars CONSTANTLY ran out of alcohol!!! Gin, wine, ingredients like mint for mojitos and the glasses which are always plastic have seen better days. The white wine is not great, and I mixed it with lemonade most times, the rose I had one glass and never went back for anymore, my partner is a red wine drinker and didn’t even want to attempt trying it. If you are English, you are unlikely to get large measures, we witnessed a barman at the panoramic bar giving us less measures in cocktails due to a manager telling him not to by whispering in his ear. The bar in the main part of the hotel there is amazing barman Abdullah! He works so hard and is just a lovely, friendly member of staff, the staff work 13-hour shifts 7 days a week. We were refused drinks by other bar servers when Russian residents were given priority and a lot bigger measures. Drinks are only served till 10:30pm and you must pay for them after this, I wouldn't want to pay for these drinks, and I was told a cocktail was £10 and they are not good quality drinks due to limited and poor-quality ingredients then served in a plastic glass. I would rather spend the money on a decent cocktail and we did at Fam Beach at the beach, where I had a delicious massive strawberry daiquiri which I would say 2 people could share, or the Dolphin restaurant in town do an amazing apple martini which is 2 for 1 as well as other great cocktail options. Both places serve fabulous food – yes, we paid to eat out on some occasions, and it was truly welcomed! Unfortunately, we didn’t have the money to eat out every day or we would have. Nachos and mixed fajitas at the Dolphin highly recommend and the chicken burger and BBQ chicken pizza at Fam Beach.

The gym looked like it had not been updated in decades, it was dark, dirty and frankly looked like it had been abandoned with ancient equipment just thrown in a large room. I couldn’t even make out if it was actually open as it always seemed to be in darkness every time I looked.

Toilets by the quiet pool, disgusting and not cleaned and the lights did not work and toilets do not flush.

On the beach advertise tea and coffee facilities in the rooms - nope there is none! No minibar in room - just a fridge which didn't really work and made drinks slightly cold.

On the beach advertise entertainment - nope none! Not a sight or sound all week and the Turkish night non-existent! I heard a manager telling someone that their customers come for a relaxing experience and that's why there is no entertainment, to me it just sounds like they cut it to save on costs as they did use to have it! A lovely couple we befriended came back on their honeymoon after getting engaged there 3 years ago, they showed us pictures of the entertainment that did exist when they came before and it looked great! They came back because they had such wonderful memories of this hotel, they also struggled to eat like us and left the holiday so disappointed. They also said how amazing the food was 3 years ago and was covered and they never felt wary to eat it.

We had a broken toilet in our room from the get-go, went to reception to try and get it fixed, they kept gluing the panel back and then we couldn't flush the toilet. This went on for days and in the end, we thought it was just better to leave the panel off and not report it, so that we could at least flush the toilet. But on most occasions the water running from it was so noisy and if you went in the night, it could keep you awake. But to add to this it had rusted water marks inside and the hotel just doesn't seem to take any pride in its rooms appearance and any repairs are just bodge jobs, there was never any smell of bleach and we saw one of the maids getting several buckets of water from the pool for the floor cleaner machine. The tap in the bathroom was so badly repaired with just tons of sealant around it. The shower was quite good and a rain shower but other residents reported their shower being cold. The balconies are so small at the most you can fit two people standing but there is no chance of 2 people sitting out unless you want to sit on each other’s laps.

There is no hairdresser (unless I missed it in the spa), no darts, no shop and the snooker tables were all broken and in a terrible state! I didn't venture to the spa because in all honesty after seeing the rest of the hotel I was scared to. Plus, you must pay for treatments and only parts of the spa are free.

I almost got locked in the toilet by the panoramic bar, there is no door handle on the lady’s toilet, and the bolt is so stiff. So, I avoided it after that one experience.

No staff seem to speak English, and you will need google translate a LOT.

No instructions for the room safe - had to chat GPT it. Press the button on the inside of the door to reset it.

WIFI doesn't work in your room and only seems to work in reception and the two lounge areas.

Racist music being played at the disco bar which was highly offensive. The staff play what they want to hear and it’s their taste; the music is played through staff phones and there are constant interruptions from their phone calls and texts. In the end we went to our room as we were so offended by the music. Please don't be fooled and think there is a disco, it’s just a bar with a few coloured strip lights and flashing lights. Also, it is in an area where massive spiders that bite were seen.

There is no air conditioning throughout the hotel, even though on the beach says there is. It’s only in the bedrooms which I must admit in our room did work very well, some nights we woke up cold. You are only given 1 key card for your room, and I presume to prevent you from keeping the aircon on all day for them to save on cost. No aircon in the dining room, nor in reception and most of the communal areas. It’s only in the bedrooms and one lounge area. That's if you are lucky to have it working as I know some residents who didn't.

Be warned the hotel is on a massive hill, on some occasions we ended up getting a cab back from town, but the taxi drivers did differ in prices - one time was £5 the next £10 and they love pounds for payment but more notes than coins.

It’s so sad as I said this hotel has some great qualities and clearly years ago was a lovely hotel, but it seems the management want to run it into the ground and take absolutely no pride in its appearance. No staff to greet you at the restaurant, no one checks for your wrist bands! There is just no hospitality in this hotel, and most staff seem scared to interact with residents. There are a few wonderful staff at this hotel who work so hard (Abdullah and Ege both fabulous!) The list of repairs to this hotel is countless from its broken toilets, broken aircon in rooms, peeling wallpaper, hole in one of the tower turrets, ceiling repairs, I could go on and on, but I would be here for days! It’s so worn out, tired and dated. Please please please X-Life Hotel management save what sounds like was and could be again a totally wonderful hotel!

Real experience of this hotel

⭐ 1/5 – Not a 4-Star Experience

We booked this hotel through Loveholidays because it was advertised as a 4-star hotel and had positive reviews. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing and did not reflect a 4-star standard.

The biggest issue was that our room had no air conditioning for three days. We reported this repeatedly and requested assistance, but the issue remained unresolved. In the heat, this had a significant impact on our holiday and comfort.

Customer service was poor throughout our stay. Reception was often unattended, concerns were not taken seriously, and staff and management were generally unhelpful when issues were raised.

There were also hygiene concerns, including food being left uncovered, flies around food, cups that did not appear properly cleaned, and public toilets that were in an unacceptable condition. Since returning home, I have also experienced rashes, which has added to my concerns about the cleanliness standards.

Many advertised facilities were either unavailable or in poor condition. The indoor swimming pool was closed and being used as a storage area, there was no entertainment despite it being advertised, the gym and tennis court were poorly maintained, and the Wi-Fi was largely unusable.

What disappointed us most was that these concerns were raised throughout our stay, yet little appeared to be done to resolve them. Had the hotel been accurately represented, we would have chosen to stay elsewhere.

Based on our experience, we do not believe this hotel met the standard of a 4-star property and would not return. However two of the bar staff could not do more for you. The stripe is very good with couple of bars and the beach is very nice but limited food and drinks. Peaceful holiday

Horrible experience

We stayed at X Life Hotel in Sadi Germe for 7 nights, and I can honestly say it was the most disappointing hotel experience of our lives. Nothing was as advertised, and the overall service and conditions were completely unacceptable. The Room & Bathroom: The room looked horrible. To make matters worse, the bathroom had severe mold/dampness issues . When we asked at the reception to change our room, the staff flat-out refused to help us. Amenities: For the entire duration of our stay (7 nights), we had to shower with cold water every single day! Furthermore, the cleaning service was a complete joke. The maids only came in to slightly adjust the corners of the sheets, doing zero actual cleaning. In 7 nights, our bed linens were never changed even once. Food: The food variety was extremely poor. Day after day, we were served the exact same dishes recycled from the previous day. Despite being in Turkey, there was a complete lack of traditional Turkish food—we expected authentic, delicious local cuisine, but the food quality was deeply depressing. Drinks & All-Inclusive Policy: The drinks were horrible—clearly the cheapest, lowest-quality brands available. To top it all off, even though we booked an all-inclusive package, we were told we had to pay for drinks after 10:30 PM! Service: The customer service was extraordinarily poor and unprofessional from start to finish. Horrible, horrible, horrible! We do not recommend this hotel to anyone. Save your money and choose somewhere else.

NOT A 4 * HOTEL DON’T BOOK

Went with my partner and was expecting a beautiful calming 4* experience all inclusive hotel , only thing good was the view , got there and no information in description it was under renovation, food was dirty and dyer went out and paid for food in town every night , the women’s toilets were horrific ants all over toilet seat/ in the bowel physically having to squat over toilet seat to use , mouldy toilet roll that’s if there were any else we’re having to use napkins from dining room , bedroom was falling apart tap eroded off , shower drain protruding from floor partner cut his foot reported nothing done , no staff about for all inclusive service guests were having to self service themselves for hours at the bars , beach bar says include snacks and lunch which resulted in a soggy bread with a slice of lettuce and cheese, we aren’t fussy but when you are paying money for a 4* hotel you’d at least expect a 4* hotel with 4* service , this wasn’t even 3* hotel for us only good thing was the view that’s it , no gym as stated all photos we believe is ai on the description as looked nothing like what we booked online. Please don’t waste your money as really disappointed
