Maldives Islands

The picture-perfect resort of Adaaran Select Meedhupparu is a 43-acre oval shaped coral island, covered with thick vegetation and surrounded by a ring of white sand. It has a lagoon ideal for watersports and is close to excellent diving areas. It's the perfect location for a holiday in paradise.

Immerse yourself on this stunning island holiday in the Maldives:

You'll feel a warm welcome from the moment you arrive at the magnificent Adaaran Select Meedhupparu. The beach will feature heavily on this holiday and it's so enduringly beautiful, you'll want to spend so much of your time there simply drinking in the view. If you fancy a little more energetic activity than working on that all-important holiday tan, then you'll find a selection of watersports available to keep you busy. For an underwater buzz, why not take a dive below the surface and explore? Just visit the dive school on site and they'll make sure you have the right equipment and some help if you need it. The island and hotel have been privileged with an amazing house reef, which clients have the opportunity to explore whilst taking up some snorkelling.

You'll feel very comfortable and well-looked after here too. Terraced rooms with partial sea view are air conditioned and all are equipped with a fan, minibar, safe, telephone, satellite television and tea/coffee maker. The best part is that the en suite facilities include indoor and outdoor showers. Taking a cool shower in golden sunshine – or even under a canopy of twinkling stars – has got to be one of the enduring pleasures of a holiday in this beach paradise.

Guests can choose from four individual restaurants, each with their own ambience and menu – and different views too of course. It's pretty hard to beat spending a relaxing evening taking time to savour a delicious meal and perhaps a glass of wine or two, with the waves lapping the beach and the warm breeze gently nudging the palm trees nearby. Just bliss.

Other facilities on site include four bars, weekly entertainment, a small shopping arcade and a laundry service. One thing's for sure – you'll want for nothing at the Adaaran Select Meedhupparu.

Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

Value for money. Beautiful place to visit

Review by ruskin1000 newport

We stayed there for ten nights from 2nd to 12th of August 2022. We had an excellent time there. The Resort admin looked after us very well. Everyone contributed their best efforts to make our stay memorable...

Once in male everything was taken care of by the Resort Team Mr Amjad from the reception. Devi, Hussain, Anand and lukshman from Safoora Restaurant. Sonya, Zainab, sarang , yannis, Hannan and Suppun from Holaboli bar, Qusum from pool bar and mussa, Sunday, Nanno and Hunto from water sports centre are few names worthwhile mentioning, although there are many more. They all went extra length to make our stay as joyful as possible. Thank you all for your great hospitality. Food was amazing and catered for all the tastes. Fresh fruit was in abundance. Room was very clean and very spacey right on the pristine white sandy beach with clear water I have never seen before. Snorkling and jet skiing was fun. Although there were various other water sports available but these activities were to be paid as an extra but worth it. There were BBQ nights but to be paid extra. Weather was good throughout. Temp varied between 27 to 29 degrees Celsius throughout with some brief odd showers. However humidity can vary and may sometimes make you feel hot but if you are in the sea or at swimming pool it was fine. Loved our stay there and will definitely return. My phone wasn’t behaving well hence missed few very good scenic shots.

A Fusion of Maldivian Beauty and Sri Lankan Hospitality

Review by Annamária B Szeged, Hungary

We would like to thank all the people who work at Adaaran Select Meedhupparu for making our 10-day holiday a wonderful experience! Staff always smiles - even the maintenance guy on his bike :) <3 About 150 km far from Malé Airport. You can choose to take a domestic flight+speed boat to get to the island but we took the seaplane wich was more convenient for our 7-member family including a nine month old baby and 2 elderly. Not too small, not too big: it took me about 12 minutes to jog around the island. It's also a nice walk any time during the day. The island is rich in flora and fauna...

Lots of plants and trees, birds and multitude of fishes. (For a lovely snorkelling experience don't be afraid to dive at the north jetty where coral reefs meet the deep blue ocean.) I saw beautiful fish and even had a sting-ray encounter. Very well kempt gardens and beaches, near the water villas there is a beautiful botanical garden. The beach is lovely, also the swimming pool with its inbuilt pool-bar. Many opportunities to eat out or have a kocktail: 4 restaurants and 3 bars. The Indian Restaurant became our favourite. Variety of water sports and other sport activities, theme nights with certain shows such as a Sri Lankan Dance performance. The rooms are cute, tidy and clean. Maybe some parts could be renewed a little bit. Water Villas and the Water Villa Restaurant are very beautiful and luxurious. In a nutshell we loved it and would highly recommend it to our friends and relatives.

Fantastic two weeks in paradise!

Review by Kiwiara15 Bristol, United Kingdom

I was a bit hesitant to book this holiday as we splurged out and there is so much choice for the Maldives but I’m SO glad we did! It surpassed our high expectations and the additional perks of the Water Villa were well worth it! Chandan our butler was amazing and very attentive. Nothing was too much trouble from bringing us breakfast to booking the two complimentary trips for us - thank you Chandan! The snorkelling was out of this world, like swimming in an aquarium. We were lucky enough to see octopuses, eels, reef sharks, a large sea turtle, stingrays, and all kinds of beautiful fish on the house reef...

It’s magical when they surround you in a shoal! I also recommend the trip to see the sea turtles and manta rays. Although it does cost extra and I was a bit nervous, we saw many large manta rays and it was a breath taking experience I’ll never forget! Shout out to Shane the DJ who played lots of requests for us including the prodigy, NIN & jamiroquai! The food in the main restaurant was good although very busy so we preferred the Indian restaurant…Laxhman made the best fresh naan bread & delicious curries (must try the crab curry!). Rasheed provided excellent service with a smile and created a beautiful work of art for us (from coloured rice) which was a surprise at our last dinner. Devi Rani was always there to great us in a beautiful sari and tell us about the menu. The food in the water villa restaurant was good, but sometimes did not match the descriptions in the menu which left us puzzled. I did enjoy the music from Janath on the piano who was very accommodating to our requests! The staff were very attentive and a big thank you to Chef Ayesh who made us a special Sri Lankan dinner. The Maldivian breakfast was outstanding, particularly the Roshi & Mas houni!!! The water villa pool area was very nice and relaxing although there were a few mosquitoes. The sea temperature is wonderful, like bath water and the beach was picture perfect! Arufaax provided excellent service at the pool, was very friendly & always asked if we would like a drink or two- thank you! Jeevan made us some delicious mojitos and the Albino bar has 101 cocktails to choose from. Overall, the holiday of a lifetime! We did have some wet days, but only some of the time. Thank you to all the staff that made this holiday so special! If you’re thinking about booking- just do it!

Paradise

Review by tarnswhite Norwich, United Kingdom

We have just spent an amazing couple of weeks on this beautiful island. Despite all the warnings about the weather we had mostly fully sunny days. The staff were so welcoming and could not do enough for us...

I would not recommend paying for the overwater bungalows as they are essentially two rooms on one bungalow and didn’t look overly private. The beach villas are lovely. Do go diving with the on site team. We have been diving all over the world and the team here were excellent!

Memorable Maldives

Review by cadBuckingham buckingham

After months of planning we have just returned from 12 special nights at Meedhupparu. Booked with trailfinders very happy with their service. Flew with emirates via Dubai from Heathrow and was lucky all ran to plan...

Highlight of journey to island was the seaplane highly recommend it! We arrived and was greeted well with welcome drinks and told about the island. Then told our two rooms (121 and 122) weren’t ready so waited. After 45 mins one room was ready. Annoyingly other room wasn’t ready till after 5 (we had arrived at 10) but felt communication was poor on when it was ready! Rooms located on north side set back about 50 steps from beach area but offered welcome shade well located. Good size with the outside shower which I thought quirky although used the traditional one mostly! We loved our 12 nights best things -

  1. Our waiter in main restaurant Abdullah so friendly and even did i us a special table when we left.

  2. The room boys work so hard and liked a chat.

  3. Dive school especially John very professional. My husband has dived a lot and thought they were most thorough he’d met. My daughter completed her open water diving with them.

  4. Selection of food in main restaurant and cafe mass. Also I’d recommend paying for water villa restaurant meal tasty!

  5. The naturalness of the island lots of greenery birds and fruit bats.

Some more negative feedback -

  1. No interaction with management. Big focus on repeat guests welcomes etc but nothing for first timers!

  2. Mosquitos they loved a nibble bring repellent! I used bands and wipes they still got me!

3.return to airport frustrating I’m a nervous traveller always worry and we weee told to be in reception for 745am transfer for 830 seaplane. At 830 told we had to get a speedboat to other island and then seaplane to airport. Left MEEDHUPPARU at 9 by boat only 5 mins had to wait another 30 mins for seaplane. Luckily we are one hour ahead of Male but it still meant a stressful end to holiday and after getting some drinks we were boarding first flight home! The hotel will blame the seaplane operators for this. I think you just need to relax and go with the Maldives chilled vibe….I’m not good at that!

I loved our stay very much and would definitely say it is a good four star property. Enjoy !
