Amilla you have been a dream as usual. Third visit and it feels like going back home every time. The island, the jungle, the villas, the reef but mostly the people feel like a known territory that we come to love every time more and more. What makes this island so unique it’s a combination of factors: the natural beauty, the colours, the simplicity of its layout which enhances the island, the food at the various outlets but most importantly the staff. Their smiles, their attentiveness, their friendliness goes above and beyond every time. Before you think of something has already been taken care of by the lovely staff. So many to mention: from Asad our Katheeb, to Sam, Mode, Mansi, Dewi, Dewi ( at the Spa), Alex ( good luck with your brother), Lesley, Pressana, Kalil, Kauser, the lovely chef Naf, the gentleman in the pottery shop who helped us create great pieces, the gorgeous lady who welcomed us every day for breakfast ( with the fruit shots), last but not least Saddam and all the staff at the diving centre including Jason and Tania plus the captains of the excursions boats and their staff. Please excuse if I have missed some.
We have met new people but also seen few familiar faces from the previous visits which has been a joy. This island has a strong heart ❤️ but also has my heart. I will miss the daily cycles, the crashing of the waves and the calling of the Asian Koel. We will be back one day Amilla I am sure of that.
A plead for the managers please don’t change the island and its core as it’s one of the most beautiful I have seen ( I have been to the Maldives 20 times and visited 21 resorts).
This time we have stayed in the two bedroom beach villa. Perfect and super spacious amazing for families. The food at the various outlets was amazing as usual especially Felling Koi and the Maldivian night. The only negative note for us were the mosquitos this year which apparently have been a cause of concern on many islands. But the staff do anything to help with the problem ( mosquito repellent spray and mosquito burners everywhere plus the fumigating of the island every night). We also did three excursions ( including Hanifaru bay) and they were all excellent.
We will certainly be back one day and hopefully find the same paradise we have left yesterday.

We are very happy to have returned to Amilla and once again had a fantastic vactation.
The island is truly special with its large size and abundant natural beauty.
The villas have everything needed for a very relaxing stay. Both the indoor and outdoor areas have a great layout and the private terrace and pool offer stunning views.
Just as last year, what made the stay extra special was the superbly kind and all around great staff. We were very happy to see so many familiar faces and the new hires meshed perfectly with the warm and welcoming culture we had experienced the previous year.
Nappe as our Katheeb was very responsive and helpful throughout our stay. It was also great to see Asad again, who took time out of his busy day to reconnect. Manik and Yousuf took fantastic care of the villa with great attention to detail and Syful and Kauser made our visits to the pool beach a true pleasure. Sobah proved to be a great snorkel guide and it was very insightful to learn more about marine life and preservation from the resident marine biologist Luiza. We also very much enjoyed the heart of house tour where members of various departments kindly showed us around behind the scenes.
At breakfast, pre-dinner drinks and dinner we once again not only looked forward to the great food and drinks served in the bars and restaurants but also to the warm welcome and impeccable service from the staff. Particularly Sarojini, Mansi, Thandar, Huan, Khalil, Sam, Mode, Naish and Leslie are doing a fantastic job. The same goes for Manni, Simba and Alex on a managerial level as well as the whole bar and restaurant team in general.
We are already looking forward to our next stay at Amilla.
