Dusit Thani Maldives

You will love Dusit Thani! Best vacation we ever had and the staff are wonderful! They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and like family. It is paradise on earth and worth every penny!

We had a memorable 25th wedding anniversary at Dusit Thani. We stayed in the 2 bedroom ocean overwater villa which was modern and spacious. The reef is spectacular and bountiful right by our bungalow and we spent hours snorkelling with the abundant varieties of marine life including eagle rays, sting rays, white tip reef sharks, turtles and zillions of beautifully coloured fish, coral and clams. We were also lucky to see a turtle during our snorkel. The staff are very friendly and obliging. Saeed, our butler took care of our every need. They spoiled us on our anniversary by taking us to an exclusive trip to an idyllic sandbank for an afternoon picnic, swim and snorkel. Ishmat and Riew looked after us very well on the sandbank trip. We also had an exclusive beach bbq dinner where they fed us the freshest and tastiest food. Alex quickly learned that we preferred fresh seafood, salads and fruit and catered accordingly. Faisal at breakfast showered us with plates of delicious fresh mango and mangosteen. Mohammed looked after our water bungalow and provided lots of fresh water every day which we needed after the long snorkels. The ladies at the spa were very good with the couples massage, facial and foot massage. Sajit, our Japanese chef came over and talked to us and catered to dishes how we liked them. We also loved the setting of the sauna and steam room at the spa. There are so many other waiters who looked after us very well whose names I do not recall, unfortunately. The team at Dusit Thani looked after us very well. We’ll definitely be back!

Pros:

1. Beautiful property.
2. Excellent service.
3. 2 times room cleaning, beautiful reef.
4. Lots of sweets, ice cream, shakes etc.
5. Superb snorkeling experience.
6. Nice welcome Lounge at the seaplane terminal.

Cons:

1. They don't have any free drinking water in Lunch/Dinner even if Lunch or dinner is free/complimentary in your package. Strange. We have to buy a bottle of water for an exorbitant price.
2. Very less veg options on the menu so the property is not suitable for Vegetarian Indians. Although Chef Mohan made 2 veg Indian dishes every dinner, you will have to be content with that.
3. There are 3 kinds of villas. Beach villa, Water villa, and Ocean villa. Water villa is on the shore(one side sea other side land) and hence sea waves continuously make sound throughout the night. Some people might find it disturbing. Ocean villas have both sides sea.
