We stayed with our two kids at this beautiful Jumeirah resort during March break this year for five nights. We booked the Grand Lagoon over water suite with half board. This trip had been planned for some time as Maldives had originally been a honeymoon destination for my wife and I but we ended up going here for our 10 year wedding anniversary and took the kids. This was easily one of the best decisions we have ever made as the hotel was perfect. It's impossible to criticise anything and we told them so during our stay. Everything was excellent. The hotel suites are clean, modern and extremely well thought out. The private pool, the easy access to snorkeling, the ample outdoor seating, the bedrooms, the size of each suite, the extremely well planned bathroom and outdoor shower area. All aspects of the suite were perfect. The same can be said about the hotel grounds on this small luxury island. Everything was well planned and executed. So many picture perfect areas like the restaurants, beach club, kids club, spa and modern overwater gym with a clear floor to the water below. You'd think just by looking at the hotel itself that would be the highlight but it was really the service. We have never experienced this level of five star service despite staying at numerous high end hotels in our travels. Jumeirah really sets the bar high here at this hotel and we now want to stay at other Jumeirah locations to compare. When you arrive you get a private and musical welcome and are introduced to an island host / butler. We had Bond, who provided amazing and timely service our entire stay. Everyone is so pleasant. They all learned our kids names, our preferences and responded accordingly within about one day. Our drink orders and breakfasts were brought ahead of us even thinking about it. The food here was also amazing at every spot. Each waiter took extra care to address our son's peanut allergy and they were ahead of us in most instances to guide us through menu options. The kids menus were well planned as well for our younger sons picky requests. We really enjoyed every aspect of this stay and would recommend it to anyone. The spa and daily activities were highlights. We did an activity every day including the private beach picnic and semi submarine ride. Both worth the extra price and time spent. We also want to shout out to the women in the kids club who provided our kids with great memories and good care on several occasions. They were truly great. We have nothing but good things to say about this paradise. Stay here if you are considering the Maldives especially with kids.

Perfect Family Stay in Paradise 

After such amazing visits in 2023 and 2024 we were excited to return. From the moment we stepped off the boat we entered total relaxation mode and truly felt that we'd come home.

The team absolutely exceeded our already high expectations. It was an absolute pleasure to be greeted by so many of our island friends who then went above and beyond to delight and surprise us.

Our special combined anniversary and birthday dinner was an absolute highlight. The Maldivian fine dining tasting menu was sublime and very clever. The setting that Ibbe and the team created was stunning and so romantic. It was a night that we shall always remember. 

Our wine tasting with Shubhav was so much fun. We very much enjoyed his knowledge and stories.

Our rooftop cinema experience is such a fun experience. 

Our massages at the spa were so relaxing. Being able to see the fish swim by beneath you is heavenly - if you can stay awake that long!

The marine life is abundent here and there's plenty of it to watch even if you only walk down the jetty and paddle. The resident nurse sharks coming to say hello at dinner are always a 'wow' moment. 

As always it is the people who make a holiday and the team here are exceptional. We were delighted to catch up with many of the team who make our stays here so special including Hamid, Maus, Fazel, Karen, Luha, Anita, Denis and the rest of the wonderful crew. We love your warmth, humour, stories and care. We miss you all.

What an unexpected pleasure to find Chef Nonky in residence - we first met 10 years ago on a different island. We could see your influence already. Every meal was excellent. Breakfasts are always a feast and we looked forward to our daily mangosteen and jack fruit.

Housekeeping kept our villa spotless and all the behind scenes staff kept the island and villas pristine.

You are an incredibly team and, but there are 2 staff members who deserve a very special mention.

Firstly Bond, our very own 007 Butler. A genuine, knowledgeable, super-efficient and caring man. He anticipated our every need, cared for us wonderfully, and surprised us with Maldivian treats and a gorgeous wooden dhow. We look at it daily and dream of Maldivian shores. Bond is a legendary fisherman and has a wealth of stories about the islands and their culture. We were so pleased that he was our butler again. We always enjoy our time with Bond and are honoured to call him friend. 

And secondly, Ibbe (Ibrahim), who always goes above and beyond to make our stay special. He takes the concept of personalised service to an entirely new level. He touched our hearts with his kindness and thoughtfulness. He made us smile every day with his warmth, humour and care. We treasure your gift which has a very special spot in our home - I am looking at the barracuda as I write this. You are an exceptional young man with a very bright future. We miss you Ibbe, our island 'son'. 

Of course, we know that behind every exceptional team is a caring management, and this one is led by Mohammed Ashraf. We know how rightly proud you are of the wonderful culture you've created, which as guests we feel in every interaction. Our thanks to each and very member of your very special team. You truly excelled.

With so many great resorts to choose from we know how hard it is to make that decision (we've travelled several times to the Maldives) - but this one comes highly recommended. We never thought we'd be contemplating a 4th trip to the same resort, but we will undoubtedly be back to see our island family :)

Luxury, tranquility, and pure relaxation - our idyllic island home

From the moment you step in until the moment you depart, you will be taken care of. This hotel is one of the finer ones boasting with unforgettable experiences, beautiful scenery, and talent throughout. We were fortunate to stay here for 8 nights and experience all that Maldives has to offer, from romantic picnics on sandbanks, spa treatments, a local island submarine tours, and endless beach days. We were left impressed with the staff. We were initially greeted by the GM, Satto, and several staff. The GM left a lasting impression on us. Mohamed is friendly and readily available. Here, you will see that attention to detail starts from the top down and they will truly make your stay unforgettable. 

We were pleased with everyone we encountered but a special shoutout to Satto, Aman, and Mahmoud—their service was beyond outstanding!  I don’t recall the name of our Gaafaru tour guide, but we want thank him for showing us around his beautiful town. 

We recommend the sandbank picnic, couples massages, themed dinners, local island tour, sunset boat, and trying some of their complementary activities. We did the half board and we were never bored of the options and came in handy. As with a luxury hotel, it is costly so plan accordingly. 

In summary, could not recommend this hotel enough.

Peak of luxury

This was our 8th visit and we are always delighted to come back. The hospitality is unparalleled with staff greeting us by name at every corner. Our family travels frequently and we are blessed to visit many great hotels across the wold. Jumeirah Olhahali is one of our absolute favourite place to visit.

Our home in the Maldives

Our stay in the Maldives was absolutely exceptional, thanks to our amazing butler, Ksenia, who took care of every detail, and Chef Nonky, who flawlessly adapted to our very specific dietary needs. A special mention to the chef—our requirements are complex, yet she delivered incredible meals without compromise.

The rooms are, without a doubt, the most beautiful among luxury resorts in the Maldives—spacious, modern, and filled with light. As frequent guests of high-end hotels, we were especially impressed by the impeccable housekeeping and flawless service.

Just an hour by boat from Malé, this resort stands out as the best in the Maldives for its breathtaking beach and world-class facilities. We highly recommend the sunset-facing villas.
