We spent 10 days at Kudadoo in April.
When choosing a resort in the Maldives, we always look for a few key things: a spacious terrace with plenty of shade, a good house reef, a peaceful atmosphere (no entertainment programs or similar), and personalized, attentive service. We found all of this at this private resort—so we can wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a similar experience in the Maldives.
Standout strengths:
We are usually not “all-inclusive” travelers, as the quality of food and beverages & service often suffers. That was absolutely not the case here. We found the “anything, at anytime, anywhere” concept extremely compelling and executed at the highest level. Each day is entirely customized to your preferences. Just a few examples: there are no fixed restaurant hours or assigned menus. Breakfast is served whenever you feel like it—and if, like us, you only want a coffee in the morning but crave something from the breakfast menu at lunchtime (Eggs Benedict, mango smoothies), that’s absolutely no problem. Yoga or fitness sessions aren’t scheduled either; they take place whenever you wish, and with a private trainer. And if you’d prefer a massage or pedicure in your villa rather than at the Spa, the highly skilled practitioners will come to you. Each residence is equipped with two massage loungers, making it easy to relax in total privacy. We truly loved our daily massages!
Most five-star resorts in the Maldives offer a villa host, but Kudadoo takes this concept to another level. Preferences are collected in advance—from mattress toppers to water sports—and your dedicated butler (in our case, Naajy, perfect & seamless service!) prepares an initial plan before you even arrive, which can of course be adjusted on-site. While delivering lunch, your butler might also quickly tidy up, neatly arrange a few things—there’s always a discreet, attentive eye on the villa. After lunch, a short WhatsApp message is enough for everything to be cleared away promptly. The service is seamless and never intrusive.
The villas are very spacious, with high ceilings and a tasteful, understated design. The terrace is wide and generously shaded, offering beautiful, open ocean views. In some resort overwater villas, you can feel boxed in by neighboring structures—but here, any visual barriers are minimal and well spaced. Housekeeping is excellent, with service twice a day. It’s not just a quick clean—everything is carefully arranged, from the fins by the pool to the toiletries in the bathroom.
From the exceptionally friendly bartender who mixes drinks exactly to your taste, to the experienced evening waiter (Abdulla—great guy), the team consistently delivers warm, attentive service. You’re greeted by name, every request is handled with care (we even ordered mango sticky rice on our last evening—despite it not being on the menu), and the overall approach is thoughtful yet unobtrusive.
A few more comments on the island: The island is very small. If you’re dreaming of long walks along endless white sand beaches, this may not be the right place for you. For us, this wasn’t important—there are a few nice beach sections that we enjoyed in passing on the way to our villa or the restaurant, and that was more than enough for us.
The house reef is also relatively small but quite lively in certain spots. You’ll find both coral (though fewer soft corals) and plenty of marine life: schools of fish, turtles, small reef sharks, and even a moray eel right by our villa. That said, if you’re staying for 10 days like we did, you may want some variety. The house reef of the sister island Hurawalhi is an excellent complement for more extensive snorkeling. It’s just a 10-minute boat ride away and offers fantastic opportunities to explore coral, fish, sharks, turtles, and more for one to two hours at a time. If you want, a dive/snorkel guide will accompany you, again, free of charge.
The views: Depending on the villa, you will see neighboring resort islands or even a local inhabited island in the distance—so it’s not a completely “remote” feel. We would recommend choosing villas facing north or northeast.
A few minor suggestions for improvement: At this level, one might expect a branded lounge at the airport, when waiting for your seaplane. This is not the case—the business lounge feels rather impersonal. This wasn’t an issue for us, but if you're used to custom lounges ofother five-star resorts, it may come as a surprise. Perhaps a shared branded lounge with Hurawalhi could be an option? A bit more of a personal touch would be nice.
Seaplane transfer: On both arrival and departure, we had a stopover at OZEN Atmosphere. On arrival, the plane refueled, which meant waiting about 15 minutes in the heat. On departure, we had to wait there for connecting passengers who had not yet arrived. While the resort doesn’t have full control over this, there may still be some room for optimization.
Overall An outstanding resort for travelers who value privacy and a highly individualized daily experience.
Our second time in Kudadoo and it’s as perfect and amazing as we remembered it the first time we came here in 2025. Our butler, Mr Saeed, was excellent. He communicated, adjusted our itineraries and made arrangements for the activities we wanted to do in the resort. We can’t think of trying another new resort in the Maldives as Kudadoo raised the bar so high I think it’s almost to find a resort as good as this. No wonder majority of the guests are returning guests. We can’t wait to come back and stay here longer next year and for the many years to come. Kudos to all the wonderful staff and management of Kudadoo.
Kudadoo somehow managed to exceed our expectations on our second stay—something we didn’t think was possible after our first visit. From the moment we arrived, everything felt even more seamless, thoughtful, and personalized.
The food was outstanding throughout our stay, again even better than our first stay. Every meal felt like a curated experience, with incredible variety, flawless execution, and genuine attention to our preferences.
What truly sets Kudadoo apart, though, is the service. The entire team operates at an exceptional level, always warm, attentive, and intuitive without ever feeling intrusive. A very special thank you to Saffah, who went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable—your kindness and attention to detail made all the difference to us.
We also have to give a special mention to the spa team. The treatments were world-class, pure serenity. Every treatment felt deeply restorative and added another layer of magic to our experience.
Kudadoo continues to redefine what luxury means to us. Returning felt like coming home—but better in every possible way. We’re already dreaming about our next stay, which we have already booked!!
We just returned from five nights at Kudadoo and it was, simply, flawless. From the seaplane touchdown to the final farewell, every detail was anticipated before we even thought to ask.
We stayed in a stunning overwater villa with an infinity pool and uninterrupted Indian Ocean views that made it hard to ever leave. The residence even had its own dedicated spa area, which made the in-room treatments truly exceptional — being pampered in your own villa, with the sound of the waves just below you is a level of indulgence that's hard to describe. The "anything, anytime, anywhere" all-inclusive concept is the real deal: no menus to price-check, no bill anxiety, just genuine freedom to enjoy.
The heart of the experience, though, is the service. Our butler, Saeed, was extraordinary — warm, intuitive, and endlessly thoughtful. He turned my birthday into something I'll never forget, with surprises that felt personal rather than scripted. The dining was exceptional across the board, the spa was a highlight (the treatments are worth building into your stay especially when the room has an included ), and the water activities and reef right off the villa were spectacular.
Kudadoo strikes a rare balance: utterly indulgent yet relaxed and unpretentious. The solar-powered sustainability story is a meaningful bonus. We left already plotting our return. If you're considering it — go.
A few years previous, I stayed at Hurawalhi and gazed over the sea at Kudadoo from my water villa wondering what was so special about it. Then I got to stay here just before Christmas. I feel there are two types of people in the world, those that have stayed at Kudadoo, and those that have not. It was life changing. Everything you read about Kudadoo is true. I have never found a hapiness like here and I doubt I ever will again. Just perfect.
The Villas are massive, the all inclusive mindset is exactly right, if only other resorts could match this beauty. I could write an essay about how incredible this place is. It is so special. Everything works, whatever you want, your butler is always there to help you. There is one butler between two villas, they are always available and they alwasy come through. It is unbelievably great. A big shout to RanJam for the best bar service you could ever ask for.
Thank you to everyone who opened my eyes as to how great a stay in the Maldives can be. I have stayed at many of the best hotels and resorts the world has to offer, this one is top of my list. I hope to come back one day.
